  1. Exactly. Either for some reason you are so impressed with losing football, you must keep him around for the next 3 or 4 years, unless you hire the second coming of Trestman, or you have to fire him. They are 4-12. He has shown he cannot build a team. Now he's blaming training camp.
  2. I get that. And in a nothing for nothing trade, I'd error on the side of youth and keep the younger player. But we will see what this guy has. He was decent in the majors last year but has been awful in the minors except when he pitched for the Chicago Dogs.
  3. There’s a 99.9% chance this turns into a nothing for nothing trade.
  4. Plus the first one wouldn’t have been one had they played with regular rules. They expanded because of Covid. And of course, no series wins. But it is interesting how many are OK with how that rebuild turned out.
  5. One difference is the Fires owner doesn’t think he’s entitled to a free stadium.
  6. This might be the one time they could get something decent trading bonus money.
  7. Oscar Robertson is a legendary basketball player. His last name wasn't misprounced 3 times, Schriff just got it wrong. TW, my job requires me to sometimes co tact people and ask about their clients. I butcher names all the time. Reminds me of grade school where the one redeeming quality of the first day of school was the teacher mispronounced names, and the entire class would laugh about it.
  8. The guy is a HoF legend and played at Cincinatti. It really shouldn’t be that hard to get his name right just once. It’s all over the place in that gym. And if he did the work as you say, he would have seen RobETRson on the statue he mentioned. Professional announcers get things right. Hacks have people make excuses for them. As I have written, John seems like a nice guy, but………..if the mouth can’t say what the brain was telling it like you claim, much like someone with eyesight problems being an Uber driver, announcing is probably not the correct line of work. I don’t expect perfection. But these mistakes really upset Cincinatti fans. it’s a pattern with him. He had no idea how many outs there were several times. Called left field right field and right field left field multiple times. ESPN has him doing G league and espn+ games, so they don’t consider him one of their best. Sox fans deserve better.
  9. The guy went 0-10 with a 4.74 ERA and an even higher FIP, and triples his salary. I wish I was younger and a better baseball player.
  10. Yeah, you were mad anyone would consider it. I didn’t, but those who did were correct.
  11. You were mad at the people who said before the 2024 season started they could set the record for losses. Said is was just as ridiculous as anyone who thought they could get hot and win a WS. Odds are against this level of futility again, but never say never. The funny thing is, if they go 55-107 some will probably be thrilled with the “improvement”. say never.
  12. And you were one to say the Sox had to trade him because 2022 was a fluke and he is what he was in 2023. They trade him for mediocrity, no one is as down on Thorpe as you, and he finishes 3rd or 4th in the Cy Young. The White Sox can’t afford to sell low on their better players. This already is the Jan Byrne Exchange rebuild. That took 9 years. We were told it would take 2.
  13. It’s worth the injury gamble especially if you are able to come back from it. It happens early in your career before you make it to the majors, you aren’t getting paid anyway. You get hurt before you’re a free agent, you still get paid plus service time, or if you get hurt after you get paid, the checks don’t stop. Most things in baseball, are cyclical. Everything seems to come back. Even bunts and stolen bases. But I don’t know if the 220 inning horse is one of them.
  14. To me, Fegan was as good as it gets. He alone was worth the subscription.
  15. The Sox was from being a bad team with little interest. Several years ago, the Tribune went without a Sox beat writer, but for some reason had one for the Cubs. Back when the Tribune owned the Cubs, all of us complained about the uneven coverage. Now we just accept it. And why is because JR has let this team slide where everyone knows they are not a worthy cover. Vinnie didn’t deserve to lose his job. Fegan didn’t deserve to lose his. If JR would have done his job, they both would still be doing what they are doing. And the sad thing is, it wasn’t like they were making millions.
  16. Odds are they will be highet, but this is an offensively challenged team who may have to choose a gut like Davis Martin or Jonathan Cannon to be their Opening Day starter. I wouldn't bet against it. I thought they couldn't play worse when they went 81-81. Then t thought they would have to try to be worse than 61-101.41-121, I just think nothinh.
  17. I would think one of the 2 top 100 prospects makes the roster.
  18. They must be trading Korey Lee, although he is one of the few players on the roster coming to Soxfest.
  19. I try not to lie to anyone, especially myself. Sometimes you have to believe what you see. I’m still a White Sox fan. I’m just sick of the BS. You’re not. That’s fine.
