  1. If you read Soxtalk the AL MVP probably should be James McCann. The NL MVP probably should be Joc Pederson.
  2. He is a fucking catcher. He isn’t going to make a 2 run difference a game.
  3. It helped that he was Giolito's personal catcher. I am guessing his CERA goes up and Grandal's goes down if they caught the games the other one caught.
  4. Of course the Sox have spent poorly. $13 million for Alonso and Jay in a season you had no intention of winning. Could have saved that money and spent it, I don't know, this year? And that is just one example of the stupid signings they make year after year.
  5. It will always end ugly with DD. His philosophy seems to be prospects are for trading. So you wind up with a roster full of bloated contracts and not much on the farm. But I do think the Phillies will get some good years from him.
  6. The Marlins won the WS when their owner bought a shitload of players. After the win , they got rid of everyone. In Detroit, he won but he had Illich's open checkbook, and had an open checkbook with the Red Sox. If JR was a spender, I think he would be fine, and that is not a knock at DD because some guys can't win no matter how much you let them spend. I think the guy would struggle with a tight budget, depending on prospect development.
  7. It isn't that bad, but I understand the frustration. So many times we hear the Sox say or act like they are going for it and they always fail to go after the jugular. It's always such half assed. Go for it. Sign Springer or Bauer. Demoralize the rest of the division. They aren't going to break the investors. If they are, just sell the team if you need the money.
  8. I think Bryant is going to the Mets. He'll be paid Cano's money.
  9. I don't know. In 2017 he hit a wet base. That could happen to anyone. i now read his ankle issue in 2018 may have initially been caused by his 2017 tumble. 2020 he broke a finger on a bunt. If you look at his 2019 numbers and his last 2 seasons with the White Sox, offensively he was he same player. He's not George Springer. He isn't going to potentially hit you 35 homers like Joc, but there are hundreds of worse ways the Sox have spent $8 million.
  10. While it would never happen anyway, I think Grandal has a no trade.
  11. What is going to be interesting is the Stone Pony's take when LaRussa changes his plea to guilty on the DUI charge. He was making a big deal out of innocent until proven guilty when the news came out despite blood tests and police write ups.
  12. Cancel the season, or at least trade Giolito while you can.
  13. Yeah, you should have received something you can pencil into your line up for at least a decade for 2 months of 34 year old Melky Cabrera.
  14. If the White Sox sign James McCann thread is any indication, judging by the reaction of the Adam Eaton signing, Eaton is a lock for Comeback Player of the Year in 2021.
  15. I still think moving forward, Grandal is the better player, and McCann wasn't going to sign to be the back up when he was getting the offer he is getting. I know Giolito loved throwing to him, seemingly a lot more than throwing to Grandal. Again, if he doesn't like Grandal's pitch selection, have Lucas call the pitches. Many pitchers have called their own games over the years. Stone talks about how he did all the time.
  16. Yes, but once they signed Grandal, which, BTW, poppysox loved, that was the end of James McCann with the White Sox, unless he played like a back up catcher. Maybe he will, and the Sox can get him back for a fraction of his contract. But he's a guy who went from non tender to 4 year contract. Good for him.
  17. And there was plenty of time. The White Sox signed Grandal. That was the end of any McCann .
  18. Not really. He was signed almost 2 years ago to the day, and the Soxtalk consensus was he definitely was no Seby. His addition made the Sox catching crew weaker.
  19. It’s so ludicrous someone or ones need to be disbarred for even bring this to the court. But they all know that. This is just part of the grift. Trump is already moving shit out of the WH and back to Mar a lago and NYC. This is just so he can extend his fundraising for his slush fund under the guise of helping with the legal bills. And it’s working. Up to $207 million and counting. He is wasting the time of his cult members AGs, basically paying them for garbage, and draining some of the bank accounts of his cult members for his personal use as well.
  20. Sean Hannity and Rudy Giuliani have both been wearing Trumps orange make up the last couple of weeks.
  21. Trump just has to concede say the election was fair and he lost, and his base would be disarmed. They passed a note for support of this BS today to GOP members in Congress asking them to sign it and told them Trump will be checking who signed it.
  22. ! is amazing how many republicans are afraid of Trump. Simply amazing. The scary part about this is even though it will fail, Putin is licking his jobs. He'll find another Trump, only the next one will be bright, the next one will be more likeable, the next one won't be stuck on himself, the next one will be able to fake empathy, and wallah! Democracy will be defeated. I guess the republicans stop reading after the 2nd amendment. They should take a look at the 24th and tell us what is wrong with it. This is wasteful spending. The citizens of these states should be irate, especially if they are true republicans. This is the real fraud.
  23. Because they only had $7 million to spend on a RF because Ray Ray cancelled his season tickets because they hired LaRussa and LaRussa is a drunk, and Eaton is an asshole who sucks. So blame Ray Ray.
  24. I liked Q, but what about Kluber? It wasn't a major surgery that got him in 2020 and 2019 was a fractured arm I believe. And in 2018, the guy was Cy Young. Between Q and Kluber, their 2020s are a wash, and before 2020, from a pitching standpoint, there is no way you take Q over him. Go for the kill for once White Sox.
  25. Hawkeyes still need to improve their defense, but that offense is tough to beat. UNC kept Garcia down a bit because they had the size and the quantity . Most teams do not. You might have one huge guy who can give him problems, but he will be in foul trouble quickly. Garza does what he wants if the guy guarding him is smaller.
