The Sox should have an advantage playing in empty stadiums. They are used to it.

It’s a good goal but who really knows? The big Oxford one has hit a roadblock. There are many things they have been working for many years for a vaccine to no avail. Hopefully it comes, but to think it happens before the end of the year and the vast majority of the population will actually have it by next June or July, let alone when the baseball season starts is pretty optimistic.

A high school pool party in Arkansas just created a cluster of cases. 2 hair stylists exposed more than 140 people. Rogue church gatherings have created hot spots. Why does stupidity elsewhere warrant opening up churches to kill more? You must be trolling. You and your loved ones should just defy the dictators and do what you want. Just remember you were warned of the consequences of your actions, so don’t feel sorry for yourself or ask for pity when what you have been told will happen actually happens. All you should get is a big thank you from everyone for making this worse and extending everyone else’s suffering.

Reading Passan on Espn.com, there seems to be a big question whether MLB will be able to play in front of fans in 2021.

I think one pastor had it right when he said the church is not closed, the building is. Why can’t you worship virtually? For a bunch of people who think they are so decent, they certainly aren’t will to sacrifice much to actually prove it. Why won’t some even wear masks? Why is that an assault on your rights and the requirement that you must have insurance and wear a seat belt to drive a car not?

Trump now demanding all churches be open. Says if Governors don't oblige, he will override them. Truly a man of God.

So, scientists and doctors correct, Trump wrong. Who would have figured? Apparently, there is a dire shortage of ICU beds in Alabama. The other sad news is a new study indicates that as many as 42% of the recent job losses will not come back. Competent leadership matters. There is all kinds of info how this was basically ignored for a couple of months, and it has really hurt everyone except the filthy rich. Bezos net worth has gone up $34 billion since this began, Zuckerberg $25 billion.

2019-2020 Official NBA Thread

Right, but their contracts aren't up. If they are blaming a trainer for injuries, the new regime won't be much better than the old one. This isn't the same staff that almost killed Loul Deng. The Bulls just have injury prone players. It's really bizarre. The game is far less physical than it used to be. Training programs are far more advanced. Players are playing fewer minutes, but more guys seem to miss time hurt. I wonder where this is headed. Maybe to the Dr. Tom Davis style. He studied this stuff 50 years ago, and did load management before anyone knew load management wasn't a pornographic term. He would run, press the entire game, and make hockey like substitutions. -
Another encouraging note, just in my small sample size, I take a walk around the neighborhood for lunch, and the amount of mask wearers is growing substantially. Today, I only saw 1 person without a mask, and he was a guy that had to be at least 85, with a cane, walking a dog. Everyone else, covered. I was very happy.

Maybe he has a trainer he just loves who happens to be available. I think Tanaka was probably a victim of his contract being up, and the new regime not knowing him. -
Would people be wearing gloves while playing tennis? Every player touches the ball, the virus could be on the ground where it could get on the ball. You are sweating,s oo probably touching your face.

It is amazing how many buy his shtick.

This doesn't look like it is playing, but the rest of the quote is like per capita relative to what? You can look at just about any capita.

At first, I was almost like Greg with the lack of haircut. But the more I thought about it, I'm kind of digging it now. It reminds me of when I was in high school, and the only time I would get a haircut is when my dad couldn't take it anymore and forced me to go. It got pretty wild at times.

I worry about restaurant reopening. People want to sit down and be served. The demand will be big initially IMO, which will cause social distancing to give out the window. Not in the seating areas necessarily, but they may have lines that would rival the weed stores when they opened.

Initially the US refused tests from the WHO. When Pence was asked why, his explanation was that isn't what the US does, it develops its own. That causes a delay. The CDC tests were messed up, now the White House is trying to blame the CDC , but that is Trump too. Maybe you are fine with the US response, but it was awful. Not what the US has done in the past and hopefully not a sign of what is to come in the future. You seem to rip people for saying Trump messed up, but don't have a problem with him or his adminstration saying they have handled this, just like they claim to have handled everything else, perfectly. If there was a problem it wasn't them. Nice leadership.

Some side effects are paranoia, hallucinations, and psychosis. So we may not be able to tell if it is affecting him.

I’m skeptical. Is it just coincidence he announces this hours after Dr. Bright is on 60 Minutes, which Trump live tweeted?

By ignoring science?

That is why I posted earlier, we can cure cancer by ending all biopsy’s.

I'm glad their trend is down and hopefully it stays that way, but trying to deceive the public during a public health crisis is a pretty big deal.

https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-coronavirus-response-keep-stock-market-up-economy-2020-5's Look at Trump's tweets regarding China from January to March. He bought everything he was supposedly told. There were no US people in the lab. Trump had them removed. I don't think it's a political issue either, but Trump has made it one. Red vs. Blue. But he won't play the same game he is asking others to play. You can't be around him without a test, yet tests are overrated.

His son this past weekend seemed to think it's a hoax to keep his dad from holding rallies. Eric Trump on his dad being unable to hold rallies b/c of a pandemic that has killed nearly 90k Americans: "After Nov. 3, coronavirus will magically all of the sudden go away & disappear & everybody will be able to reopen. [Dems] are trying to deprive him of his greatest asset."
-
Yes, he ignored the virus because he was told the stock market would be spooked. He blamed the previous administration for not having tests. Even though Obama was supposed to know Covid 19 was happening 3 years after he left office, why didn't the Trump administration prepare for a pandemic? They were left a playbook, which they ignored. I already said it was going to be bad under anyone, just not this bad. He was wrong, wrong, wrong, wouldn't come up with a National response, made the states compete for supplies, like it was The Apprentice, Governors edition, which cost time and money, and took zero responsibility. His own words. Golf too much? I didn't say that, he said Obama did. He golfs more than Obama and makes money when he does. But who cares about conflicts of interest. If Trump can dish it out, and all you have to do is see a really or look at his twitter, he should be able to take it. World's biggest victim. You really don't have to be a democrat to see he messed up, bigly. Almost every single Republican politician who isn't afraid of him has pointed it out.

He ignored it, because it was going to bring the stock market down, the thing he used to say he was a great president, even though the guy he just called inompotent again had the dow rise 148% under his watch, praised China for their hard work and transparency and cost lives. And he goes on a daily 2 hour rally telling everyone how great he is. Sorry, Trump deserves every slam he gets. He tweets and watches television when he is supposed to be working. Golfs more than any other President, when he himself said he would have no time to golf, and ripped the previous president for golfing. The Secret Service just spent $179,000 for golf carts at his golf course this summer. And people want to praise him for not taking a salary. It was probably going to be bad under any president, but most likely not this bad, and every single one of the others would have shown at least a little bit of leadership. Probably most importantly, the fact that he made a pandemic a political issue, is disgusting. This isn't red vs. blue, but that's what he made it.
