  1. Some day he is going to be right. For as off as he's been, he sure does have a lot of people paying attention to his tweets.
  2. I agree. I think if they were just as comfortable with Wheeler at his price point or the other guys which will be more than double, they would go after him first.
  3. One thing to keep in mind is this guy is going to have to go through a pretty good physical. That could take time as well. Being a pitcher with his history, the physical isn't quite the lay up most players go through. Clinton Cole might be right because no one really has anything about him going anywhere else.
  4. If he is legit he said 3 days ago Wheeler will be back with the Mets. Book it.
  5. I totally disagree. Tatis was an A ball player when this started.
  6. Maybe that will make the Reds want Carson Fulmer.
  7. It would be interesting to see what would happen if the entire White Sox offense was competent enough to where Jose didn't feel the pressure to have to be the man. I like the guy, I am just worried he is at that age, and the type of player, who seems to lose it fast. Who knows, maybe he's like Paulie and a guy who many thought wasn't worth his money puts up bigger numbers in his 30s. There are bad signs in the data, and good signs. We will see what happens. I think they could have got off better giving him the QO and letting the rest play out. Having him play on a good team may be a good start.
  8. They are going to make him more expensive when the rest of the roster should and hopefully, start getting expensive. For all the times this team has decided to go with a generic brand because of cost and been burned, this is a very curious extension, and again I am a Jose Abreu guy.
  9. I think this is crazy by the White Sox and I like Jose.
  10. I think if they get Wheeler, Kole Calhoun is close to a lock to play RF. He won't cost much, and be shorter term. And even with Grandal, I am sure they prefer a left handed hitter there.
  11. Might has well use his framing while you can. Once they go to robo umps, framing becomes irrelevant.
  12. You offer the most money, you get the player. Who knew?
  13. I was thinking as well he might get a job with the Sox major league staff, but who knows, maybe he isn't a wiz as an instructor. I really don't think this is a very big deal.
  14. Apparently something is lacking with Omar. Since we don't have much exposure to his managerial and developmental skills, we have no idea. Maybe someone below him is better and they want to move up. Maybe they have some sort of issue with Omar's performance. Maybe he said or did something he shouldn't. Whatever it is, I wouldn't sweat he won't be with the organization anymore.
  15. Dan O'Dowd thinks this guy may regret turning down the QO. They showed him playing LF. He makes Eloy look really good, and supposedly the guy can't throw at all.
  16. I wouldn't give him too much based on a little more than 20 innings. The fangraphs article seemed to give all the credit to his fastball improving a tick. He's 30. Does that mean if he loses a tick, he's a gas can again? He's always struck guys out. He did have a couple of decent years starting. I just think giving him decent money for more than a year is silly.
  17. He's either going to sign the multi year or grab the QO. Either way this is most likely ending today.
  18. He is staying with the White Sox one way or another.
  19. I'm pretty sure he lives in Miami. And there are a ton of Cubans there, but he wants to be and will be a White Sox.
  20. We shop at the same grocery store. He looks 8 feet tall in person.
  21. ‘‘Players want to come play for us, play for the White Sox, play on the South Side, play for [manager] Ricky [Renteria] and be part of what we’re building.’
