  1. Plus MLB has a partnership with Stubhub. The team gets a little bit of the re sale, and they get someone in the gate. So even if it is sold at a huge discount, there is a very real possibility the person buying the ticket may not go for full price. This eliminates some no shows, and gets people to buy parking and concessions and souvenirs.
  2. He kind of like a taller, faster, better ball handling Ben Gordon. That will work.
  3. I agree. Since he has no contract there is always a slight chance, but he is not married, he has no kids or grandchildren, he likes Benetton and the White Sox, and if he had no job, he would watch baseball anyway.
  4. Defense still horrible. Lavine didn’t have a very good game, and struggled with the close out which has been an issue. For him to become a star, the end of games is something he needs to improve. At least they were easier to watch, but this team is going to be mediocre for a long while unless something really unexpected happens..
  5. I think there will be some money spent. I don’t think it will be as much as many think. But I think we will be at the point next year where if everything goes right, the team should be better. Whether that happens, probably unlikely. I read an article where the Sox had the 3rd worst local TV ratings in 2019 in baseball. Only Miami and some other godawful team were worse. They better start winning soon.
  6. Normally you might have a point, but 7 runs? That is less than 2 a quarter, and the first one was a receiver who fumbled. It wasn't like the game was a blowout from the start. It was a pretty close game for a half. Even if you average 2 yards a carry, it beats up the defense, and eats clock which will rest yours.
  7. This is probably a lost season, although I think they were 3-3 last year. But their offense hasn't been this bad since Bob Avelini. Chances that it turns around when the head coach admits he has no answers is very doubtful. I just hope the Bears dont stick with Mitch like they did with Cutler, way past the time it was obvious things aren't going to ever be good enough.
  8. When he was drafted his accuracy was lauded. 3rd year and it seems it was never above average and getting worse. Last year we were told wait until he gets the entire playbook and masters the offense. They put up 3 points vs GB and determine Mitch has has to grasp too much and were cutting down. Forget the bad throws. Could it be that mentally he isn't an NFL QB?
  9. If it makes the team better I am fine. He broke no laws. Whether you agree or disagree with his view is supposed to be irrelevant .
  10. 2 or 3 times yesterday when he normally would take off. He drove and threw. I am not blaming him, but if he can't scramble and do something with his legs, his badness is magnified.
  11. His scrambling ability is almost non existent right now as it was clear yesterday he was very worried about taking a hit to the left shoulder
  12. That's a good point, but I don't think anyone should buy the reason he hasn't played in 3 years is because he sucks. To deny he was blackballed, isn't being realistic.
  13. It is starting to become evident that the Mack trade was genius in more ways than one. It got a generational talent on the team and rid Ryan Pace of the opportunity to waste high first round picks on offensive players who can't play.
  14. You There are a lot of guys picking up NFL paychecks that have performed worse than him at his worst. One even starts for a team some thought were SB bound 7 weeks ago.
  15. Cohen averaged 5.2 yards per touch under old school, game passed him by John Fox. He is averaging 4.5 this year under offensive guru Nagy. The offense started sputtering near the end of last season, and has been as awful through the first 6 games as any Bears team since 1975. I mentioned a while ago, a friend of mine who knows football as well as anyone I know told me the league caught up to Nagy, and the guy admittedly has no answers. That is not good. What a difference a year makes. On the bright side personally, I am in the 500s on the season ticket wait list. 2020 is now a distinct possibility.
  16. I have no idea.I did expect him to be better than he was this year. The fact is, their defense was bad this year, and their upgrades so far are to their better defensive guys. I think Anderson can be elite defensively, but until he is, he’s not. RF may be shitty again, we have no idea. You would think it would be an upgrade, but shitty might actually be an upgrade from what was out there in 2019. I give this front office no credit until they earn it. Many front offices, you could assume would address the problem in a big way. This one, not so much. I look at some of the supposedly available guys, and see a lot of average at best gloves if that. A lot of warts on the free agents.
  17. We have no idea who is playing RF, and although I thin pk TA is potentially a tremendous defensive SS, he isn’t there yet.
  18. The problem is they are replacing 2 of the better defenders on the team.
  19. Over 30 pitcher. Boras client. Only wants tons of money and a lot of years. This has White Sox written all over it.
  20. i am sure he will opt out and sign a record setting deal with the White Sox. It's pretty much guaranteed.
  21. I am not so sure either, and dialing back the ball may be a huge mistake. Except for home runs, hitting is harder than ever. You rarely face the same pitcher more than twice in a game. Seeing 95 MPH fastballs with movement is common. Dylan Covey throws 95 MPH sinkers and he is meat. If a lot of the home runs become fly outs, MLB will have another problem on their hands.
  22. What would you expect on Twitter. If he doesn’t like it, he cancels his account. As long as he keeps up what he has been doing lately, the only conclusion one could make is he is looking for it.
  23. A snippet from Jim O'Donnell's sports media column in the Daily Herald. It would be interesting if Stone fled JR and went to his crosstown rivals after telling everyone just how much better he is than anyone: Why are there so many rumors flying around the White Sox broadcast scheme for 2020? It goes beyond Ed Farmer's health. (Tweet-intense Steve Stone would be an intriguing "get" for the Cubs Marquee Sports Network.)
  24. I would think he would take any lessons learned with him. But I do agree his coming to Chicago seems silly to even consider.
