Rumor: Reinsdorf aims to build second place teams

That happened under this ownership's watch. Still, last year, according to Forbes, the White Sox pulled in $3 million more in revenue, before expenses, than the Twins, and that is being the second fiddle, with an old TV contract, losing 100 games. -

The only one making no sense is you. It's been a trend. -

Here's what you are replying to: They have a lot in common. You are as wrong here as you were about Adrian Beltre. Things you never said? You said it again. Is your last name Guilliani? -

You don't make sense. The White Sox with their built in advantage of being in Chicago have pissed it away and cannot match the Minnesota Twins. -

Yet they have twice as many World Series wins than the White Sox since JR owned the team. The White Sox have won a postseason series 1 year in all of our lifetimes. -

Other than they are division rivals, usually spend arpind the same resources and one team seems far more successful than the other. If the Twins can be good, why can't the White Sox? I'm sure you have a fine excuse. -

I guess we have heard Jack for the last time on Charlotte Knights broadcasts, -
Good thing they gave away pool money to rid themselves of Nate Jones. One thing JR needs is more dollars.

Rumor: Reinsdorf aims to build second place teams

I bet you he said it, but it probably was tongue in cheek.BTW, losing pays. Since RH has been GM, the team has been awful, but their bank account, another story. Coming into this season, which by all accounts was a big money manner, , according to Forbes numbers a cumulative $200 million profit. https://www.statista.com/statistics/829581/chicago-white-sox-operating-income/ -
After Renteria's surgery, I must admit, Super Joe looked mighty impressive walking out to the mound to make pitching changes.
-
I forgot he was even in the organization. It will probably be the same with at least a quarter of the 40 man in the next year.
-
Super Joe works with Anderson. I thought Omar might be a good choice to add to the staff, but since he has already been on an MLB staff, maybe he prefers to manage in the minors. Maybe he thinks that's his best path to a MLB managing gig. If Coop goes, Hassler will take over. The White Sox obviously think coaching is not a problem, so therefore, since there has been a problem, it's on the 3 Musketeers. I think this is a decent start. They aren't looking for every excuse to keep someone anymore, which seemed to be the norm before, because you can make a case with Moncada, and Anderson, since he really worked with them, and maybe even McCann, although his transformation started before he suited up, Steverson probably had his best season. Makes you wonder what they were looking at earlier.

Did you see the Hawk special last season? Jason dropped a couple of f-bombs. Really family friendly. It's like Abreu with his chew. What a terrible example. Hit the road, JBen. He isn't ever going to leave until he has to. He can still do the Home run derby etc. There is no college football or basketball in the summer. He's living the dream. Good for him.
-
You are correct, but there wasn’t a sign they were going to make it better. Moncada and TA hit. How sustainable their over .400 BABIPs are is a question, but everyone else was very unselect I’ve, low OBP. A few hit homers, and most struck out, but moving forward, it certainly has look for a couple of years like these 2 weren’t going to move the needle. And hitting coaches getting changed is the new rage. Steverson was the second longest tenured hitting coach in the majors.
-
It probably doesn't help when Abreu goes into a prolonged slump, and finally talks to his old Cuban coach, and starts raking. The trend seems to be younger, more analytical. I hope that is the way to go. Home Runs and lower k rates win . Everything but hitting a homer is harder to do offensively in MLB anymore with how pitchers are used. You need to get someone on base and hit one in the seats.
-
Their prospects are thought to be better. What I was getting at was the 2019 Padres were basically the 2019 White Sox if the White Sox signed Machado. The Sox would have won a few more games in all likelihood, but you wouldn't have heard embarrassed out of them.
-
Should have been done sooner. At least they are moving on . I hope Merkin is wrong and they go outside the org. What is interesting is how they made Steverson a guru and wanted to incorporate his philosophy at all levels. From that to the door isn't the Reinsdorf way. But historically, hitting coach is the one position the White Sox will launch .
-
We will see what happens. Their "core" is just as good, and the Sox will have to spend some money to fill out the roster. We already know the track record of the people who will be making the decisions. One year, they hit on everything, and did pretty well. A couple years after that, they did fairly well, but it was over a decade ago....since? Not so good. They might have $15 million committed, but to think they will spend the rest wisely or if it is even possible for anyone to do that, is probably a big stretch. If the Sox had signed Machado, and Abreu re-signs, which is a given, the difference becomes insignificant.

Rangers might trade lefthanded hitter/outfielder
Dick Allen replied to Whisox05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
2020 the Sox need a RF, DH, and Starting pitching. 2019 the Sox need a RF, DH and starting pitching. Jon Jay, Yonder Alonso, Manny Banuelos, Ervin Santana, and Ivan Nova were the answers. Good God if the Sox are still working the clearance bin.
