  1. I know TA flips bats and all, but that routine throw was not only low and in the dirt, it was also wide. He is a major leaguer. Throwing it at least near 1B shouldn’t be an issue. I get a kick out of how many people say scoops are easy. I would love to see all of you try it one day. It would probably be as laughable as that bar that had people kicking 43 yard field goals.
  2. I hear the big upgrade at Guaranteed Rate this offseason will be the installation of new LED lights to illuminate the field.
  3. I see Capra going. Hahn mentioned teaching, Capra was brought in for that. Send him back to minor league administration.Maybe throw Vizquel a bone and put him at 3rd and instruct infielders, especially TA.. Steversom was one of only 5 MLB hitting coaches around for more than 3 years coming into the season. Of the 4 others, the only one who won’t make the playoffs is the guy in Cleveland. Teams are going more analytical with that position. Now might be the time for someone like that. Coop is year to year. He won’t be asked to leave, but at some point he will have had enough.
  4. I just noticed Directv, which goes out every time it rain is near, hasn’t agreed to carry NBC S.C. .i get this through my homeowner assessments, so I don’t have a choice to change providers. Seems I will have to steam if nothing comes together. Dish doesn’t have a deal either. The White Sox might be unavailable to half the homes in the area.
  5. Walker Buehler was selected 24th and the Dodgers wouldn’t trade him for Benitendi I would imagine. Maybe they didn’t win enough.
  6. Who knows what happens, but he has a ton of talent. I think at the very least, he would be a nasty reliever.
  7. Putting any blame on catchers is a pretty big cop out IMO. Thor did it with the Mets, then backtracked a bit, but if he doesn't know what he wants to do and thinks it's all up to the catcher how he performs, he should give some money back. The ultimate responsibility for what pitch is thrown and location is either on the pitcher or the bench if the bench is calling the game which several do.
  8. I think instead of making these comments,a guy like Cooper should just ignore the tweets he doesn’t like or twitter in general. What do they expect? If twitter was around in his heyday, you would be able to find thousands of tweets saying Michael Jordan is worthless. Take a franchise that has struggled for over a decade, and that is only going to be multiplied.Maybe even try winning to shut them up. it appears Don Cooper scours twitter either to find stuff praising him to satisfy his ego, or to look for stuff to b**** about. Does he even have a twitter account?
  9. Jim O’Donnell in the Daily Heald thinks not only Maddon, but Theo will also be hitting the road.
  10. Cooper has been among the least criticized coaches from horrible teams in history. And beer muscles? Isn't he the guy who goes on radio after a few and blasts those that don't accept losing? Obviously we can't know all that is involved day to day, minute to minute with the team. Maybe Cooo can point us to whose job it is to win, and we can finally rip on the correct person.
  11. Maddon speaks fluent Spanish. And I don’t know why he wouldn’t fit culturally. He was nails with a young Cubs and young Rays teams. it won’t happen for obvious reasons, and I also doubt he would do it to Ricky again. But he would be a great fit.
  12. I’d take Maddon if he was available. Back when the Sox had Bevington, they went after Jim Leyland when he became a free agent. But he went to Miami in part because of how the Sox treated his buddy Lamont, who was a pretty good manager himself. I am not a Renteria guy, but he is nowhere near the same bad Bevington was. Still, if they have a shot at Maddon, they would be fools not to take it. His act will grow old, but not for a while. He would be a huge upgrade, and show the fan base you finally mean business. But the problem is Joe Maddon doesn’t like his pitchers throwing cutters.Don Cooper would love if every one of his pitchers threw cutters.Something would have to give that JR, RH, and KW won’t let give.
  13. Machado is better than him at 3B. If Machado was signed, Moncada most likely would have been at 2B this year, perhaps moving to accommodate Madrigal next year. I doubt they would move him again. But assuming Madrigal is really good, I bet Yoan would be better as a RF than anyone they eventually sign.
  14. There is no question he is not performing well enough at home. But that doesn't mean the Sox dodged a bullet.
  15. He's doing pretty well on the road. His home numbers are driving him down. He's doing a lot worse there than he should. I wish the Sox had him. It's hard to pick up a talent like that at that age for only money, something they should have plenty. This team still needs a lot to go right. Considering the teams Rick Hahn has generally managed have never produced worse than the overall #11 pick, and with Sale, Eaton and Q to trade, you would think the depth would be a bit better. They should be at the point the 40 man could be difficult. But they still are loaded with guys who won't do jack and no one will remember they were even around 2 years from now.
  16. That is because he has been brutal at home. I think Guaranteed Rate would be a good place for him to hit. But I have thought that for just about everyone.,
  17. If he didn't flop and was a star, I'd rather have Moncada in RF than any of the free agents this year. The White Sox need a lot of offense. This isn't 2005 anymore.
  18. Machado at 3B and Moncada at 2B or the OF seems a lot better choice than what they have.
  19. Moncada is putting up an fWAR that the Boy Wonder put up with regularity. Hopefully it will become common for him as well. I think TA will come back to the pack a bit offensively moving forward, but do think he will figure out using good fundamentals, even if it's boring, is the way to go with routine plays, and save the flare for the spectacular, which will probably more than offset his drop in offense.
  20. No need to extend him. Let's see what he's got next season, then talk contract. His framing still sucks but everything else is pretty, pretty good.
  21. PECOTA had them at 70 wins and Vegas at 74.5 before the season started. Looks like they are right at where projected.
  22. If you listen to White Sox telecasts, home runs for the opposition almost always get some juiced ball mention. When the Sox hit them, it's brut strength.
  23. People forget, a few of years under the Rick Hahn regime, the Sox got the 3rd pick in the draft, the 8th pick, and the 10th pick when they were trying to win. Tanking has only slightly moved the draft position needle,
