  1. If the Bears don’t get this stadium built with public funds, Chicago is going to fall behind as a city. I loved that BS. Super Bowl would be nice, but with the capacity they are looking at, it will be 1 Suoer Bowl. It will be 1 Final Four. What concerts is the city missing out on? Again, if this is such a great deal, and will be ultimately be a money printer, why not just build it yourself, and pocket the money? You have a plot of land. Starr building. Kevin Warren will untimely be known as a bad hire.
  2. Clinched the worst record in baseball.
  3. Remember when the Sox refused to give Rodon a qualifying offer? That was awesome.
  4. He’s always a little off. With people going into the office only 2 or 3 times a week, a close proximity to the loop is offset a little bit as well. He still has the red line near. And Metra trains a lot closer than they are now for those not heading south. But one of his complaints is he never drew 3 million, and the capacity of this stadium is supposed to be 35000-38000. So he isn’t going to do it there either.
  5. I mentioned this earlier. Moncada, if he rehabs, since you didn’t just let him go yet, let him play a bit. DH, 2B. Ramos shouldn’t be sitting. He should be playing 3B . Vargas isn’t a 3B,, Let him DH, LF, and 1B. Gavin Sheets shouldnt be part of the future unless the goal is utter mediocrity, which, considering JRs other franchise, is not out of the question.Sit his ass. Sit Nicky’s ass. Or just tell them to go away.
  6. According to the people begging for public money, these are always a big money maker for the state or local government from which they are seeking funding. Makes you wonder why they wouldn’t just build it themselves and take in all that money. I guess it’s just their charitable sides.
  7. It wasn’t designed to lose 100 games. That is the problem. The one thing you can build in MLB relatively cheaply if you know what you are doing, is a bullpen. No members of Chris Getz inaugural bullpen made it through one season with the team. White Sox pitching has a long ways to go, and it’s going to require some good breaks going the teams way. The hitting is so bad everyone thinks the pitching is fine ignoring the onky staff with a higher ERA is Colorado.
  8. Shockingly he cleared waivers and was outrighted. He may be back soon. Another in the long line of weird fascinations the Sox have with some guys. Why are Nicky Lopez and Gavin Sheets playing and young guys riding pine?
  9. Scherer was a major league scout. At least he was as of a year or so ago in an article I read. It seemed like they relied on the ex assistant hitting coach for their big deadline deal. I don’t know who recommended the players in the Cease deal, but if these were some of the guys, then Getz admits the return was short. I would have to think the Mena trade was all Barfield. I know 2 of them were responsible for Quintana coming to the White Sox. Looks to me it’s more a purge of KW lackeys.
  10. Even his mother would have to admit Getz thought he put together a roster significantly better than worst of all time. I’m totally opposite of westeddy on this but if you go to the preseason prediction thread, we both picked the same record. We are going to be off by 30 games. I call it incompetence, he calls it bad luck.
  11. Scouts don’t make much money. I said earlier they get McDonalds like pay. That is probably an exaggeration but not a huge one.
  12. I’m not worried about it because I won’t drive there. I am just pointing out if that park gets built, the traffic around there and lack of parking will be the new Comiskey Park II upper deck.
  13. II agree to a point. Anyone who thinks 1 guy can drop a team ERA 1 run is nuts. But he did show Davis Martin a new change up. If he uses that to become a solid #3 or #4 starter, Bannister has earned his paycheck this year. We will see.his impact with the guys they got for Cease, and whatever they get for Crochet and Robert. But you are right. To say pitching development is anywhere near fixed at this time is nuts.
  14. Cubs fan are used to it. They have never had parking around Wrigley. It will be a complaint just like the current upper deck which is no higher than any other upper deck of parks built the last 50 or 60 years. Fans were shocked, and it's still an issue. Parking and traffic by the park, something the Dan Ryan has offset pretty well, will be a big issue. I'm with the hope JR builds it with his money crowd.

  16. At the press conference last year, JR mentioned several scouts from other teams were recently let go, and said he thought the Sox might be able to take advantage of that. Wait a year.
  17. People who will be driving to games won't know what hit them on Roosevelt and Clark if this gets built.
  18. It's funny we were told Getz was hired so we wouldn't have to wait a year, and for most s%*#, we had to wait a year.
  19. That might have been their best game last night.
  20. I think Ozzie had the best idea. Play Ramos at 3B and tell Moncada he’s playing 2B. Give him Nicky Lopezs ABs. That way the only person needing consoling will be Schriffen. I suspect if Moncada plays, it will mostly be DH.
  21. Was reading the Clevinger thread. Good call.
  22. Ignore them. I’d ignore you, but is so ridiculous it’s entertaining. Chris has proven you wrong all season long. I just find it hard to believe that is was KW, RH, Jeremy Haber, Marco Paddy and all the rest that got the Sox into this unprecedented mess, but somehow, all along Chris Getz was a star, if they only had listen to him. He’s been showing you for months, he too, was part of the problem. You just tried to put a feather in his cap by revamping pitching development. Hasn’t that been his job mostof the previous 5 or 6 years? Player DEVLOPMENT, Chris also waived Seby.
  23. What did Chris Getz do in his previous roles with the White Sox that give you this unwavering confidence that everything he does is so perfect? I know you were impressed withe the development of Seby Zavala; but what else? 32-109.
  24. It’s a good start, but if he wasn’t part of the problem and isn’t now, he has a no show job.
  25. It’s amazing how Getz survives.
