  1. Yeah, that’s a tough one to live down. Reading what Law said, there is very little chance. It appears the scouting community holds a bit of a grudge too, as he not disclosing that could have cost a few of them employment. He also mentioned what do you do when you visit kids in the hospital? If my kid was in the hospital, I wouldn’t want him anywhere near her. I know now he says he is innocent, but he did plead quilty.and it doesn’t appear his entire family is convinced of his innocence. If He didn’t do it I feel bad for him, but there is no way his plea will ever get reversed unless the girl says she made it up. He wouldn’t be on my board. A total PR nightmare. A distraction for the team. He has a little protection from all of that in college. It will be a free for all if he signed with someone,
  2. Just had some trivia on MLBN Which first overall draft pick played in the most MLB games? Harold Baines
  3. Didn't he pitch yesterday? I would guess Charlotte to Minneapolis flights, especially non stop, are pretty limited. He probably ran into a time crunch after the game.
  4. Speaking of Ryan Braun, is it just me or does it always look like his bat is about 2 feet longer than everyone else's? It looks fungoish to me.
  5. He's clearly a DH. But he had enough success in the minors to think his bat isn't a fluke.
  6. Yeh, he should probably give up hitting left handed.
  7. I am an Iowa grad and if you read the story about Pierre Pierce, although not messing with a child it is very similar. He was originally accused of sexual assault. Thrown off the team, he eventually pled down to a lesser charge with no jail time and record expunged if he kept his nose clean. Always claimed he was innocent to is lawyer and coach, he was reinstated. Many were outraged but were told there was a lot about the case that never came out, basically saying he just had consensual sex. People were still upset but he was playing well, then one night he beat up another girl and flashed a knife. His college career was over and he went to jail. Steve Alford to this day hasn't been able to live it down, even though he did not rape or batter anyone. He believed what his player was telling him including taking the plea even though he was innocent. I just dont think it is worth finding out the hard way you have been had. And it is always going to be there.
  8. I get it but pleading guilty to this crime if it gets out is suicide. His brother still seems to think he is guilty. Personally, I don't think anyone could possibly get to know him well enough to draft him. Even if you are 99.99999 percent sure he is innocent, he proves you wrong and does it again, there would be no excuse. There are a lot of false confessions without a doubt, I just don't see how anyone can buy that this one is. If he wasn't a prospect no one would think anything else. The only proof anyone has he didn't do it is his denial now. Let some other team deal with the distraction adding him to an organization would bring.
  9. Pleading guilty means you re guilty. Pretty solid proof.
  10. Also prior to August of 1988, the White Sox had a big advantage drawing people to games, as the Cubs couldn’t play home games at night.
  11. You really don’t speak all over the partisan spectrum. What you now call stimulating conversation, you often complain about being “groupthink “ ganging up on you. You make yourself a victim, just like Trump, yet have no problem ripping anyone else. Also just like Trump. Now you are bragging about replies to your posts, just like Trump and his crowd size. The fact is people respond to your posts not for this stimulating conversation you now call it, but to call out your many inaccuracies. I really don’t keep score. I just know everything you feel necessary to accuse others of doing, you re guilty of doing yourself. Again, just like Trump. For a guy who says he doesn’t like Trump, you sure seem to defend him and his conspiracy theories often. I haven’t seen you rip him . Maybe you have, I don’t read every post. But if you have, it is not nearly as much as you have defended him which we all know would be quite different if he was doing the same thing with D after his name.
  12. Trace rarely gets a hit. But when he does it is usually a double or homer.
  13. Albers hasn't skipped any meals since he left the Sox.yuge.
  14. Which is odd because when he was here the first time, the team was ripped for using him out of the bullpen. He is just a mediocre pitcher who had a few nice moments, and being lefty and a good guy will get him plenty more opportunities to show more of the same.
  15. Is there a,requirement White Sox pitchers must get to ball 3
  16. They are 18th in the league in revenue, and 14th in projected value according to Forbes. That is about as middle as it gets.
  17. Maybe as to how they are projected, but I bet many players from this draft have better careers than the worst of the top 4. The Sox have to find these guys. Obviously, while still the biggest crapshoot draft in sports, projections have seemingly improve a great deal, I was reading an article on the Tigers 1976 draft. They picked second and selected a bust, but still drafted several contributors to their WS championship team, including two HOfers in Morris and Trammell. They also drafted another HOFer that year in Ozzie Smith, but couldn’t sign him. It would be nice if the Sox got a player or 2 in the middle rounds that turned out a steal. It seems to have been a while.
  18. Even if you want to be a badass, 16-37 suggests this season is over. No use spending resources now for a few more wins (including IMO Eloy and Kopech control) that can be spent later when the team has a fighting chance to actually do something. I do agree the rebuild is far from a sure thing. Kopech could be as good as Sale. Lopez could be as good as Q. Eloy could put up a 6.0 WAR season like Eaton in 2016. That’s a lot of coulds. Even if it happens, they are back to where they started. They couldn’t build a winner with those 3 signed cheaply, I see no reason to think when the time comes to put up or shut up, the White Sox have the correct people in place to take them over the top, let alone keep them there.
  19. The "prize" for losing 95 games last year was the 4th pick. If they lost 84, all their other picks in the draft would have been available for them to draft. If they do go under slot, it better be for a guy they have in their top 5 or 7 who will sign for less, and they were virtually assured the savings would be well spent on a target they are absolutely sure will be available. . Otherwise, cheering for losses is even more ridiculous.
  20. LMAO. No one plays victim more than you. And character destruction is exactly what you are attempting to do. Your act is old and tired.
