KW on the state of the rebuild
Obviously it's not all you hope for, but you have to be realistic. If being bad for 5 years is a guarantee for years upon years of greatness, everyone would do it, and not every team can be successful at the same time. It's a zero sum game. The White Sox will always have the Yankees and the Red Sox throwing big money at their problems. If winning the WS consistently was fairly simple, someone would actually do it. They should be able to dominate their division like Cleveland, Minnesota and Detroit have all done at various points. Even KC had a decent stretch, considering the advantages they have over their division opponents, but then you get to the playoffs and who knows how that will go. Besides, if they had made the playoffs those other years if it was formatted as it is now, you can't say they wouldn't have won.

One postseason appearance when 4 teams total made it. They were in the playoffs with the current format in 1990 and 1994 if no strike.

Race for the worst 2018 record (Top 5 pick) again
Whether you want to think they are cheap or not, if you're a White Sox fan, you should want them to make as much as possible these days so they have the funds to keep it going if the winning ever commences, because consistent winning gets really expensive quickly. And there's no guarantee the turnstiles will be humming when that happens.

KW on the state of the rebuild
You never know with young players. Back in 1990, the Sox thought they would suck. They were shooting for the rebuid to mean winning when they opened their new park. It came early. Look at the Twins. They looked like they were going to be really good, then 2 years ago, awful. Last year, a nice snapback, now back to mediocre, and minor league stints for 2 guys that were supposed to be cornerstones. Hopefully it all works out for our guys, but you can't be sure. For a game whose numbers and projections are based on very linear things, it really isn't very linear.

One thing the Astros and Cubs did differently than the White Sox was they focused on position players and added pitching. The Sox have a lot more higher end pitching prospects.

Forbes also wrote they made $30 million in profit. Whether that is accurate or not, we really don't know. But back in the day, they used to raise the payroll pretty close to the amount Forbes said was their profit.

Also don't forget Theo came in 2nd place for James Shields and Anibal Sanchez. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Also, if Jesse Crain passes a physical and Arrieta is a White Sox, is Theo still the boy wonder on the Northside? I don't think they win without Arrieta.

KW on the state of the rebuild
Whether you are rebuilding or not, losing a lot of games should count, considering draft position. The one benefit you get to a full out rebuild is playing guys you never would have played, and maybe finding something. The Sox system was so bad, missing out on that really didn't do any damage.

KW on the state of the rebuild
Looking at the free agent class that was supposed to be world class, you look at it now, if Harper or Machado isn't realistic, there are a few relievers, who you supposedly aren't supposed to spend a lot of money, and a suddenly huge question mark in Josh Donaldson, and the rest is pretty much a bunch of crap.

**President Trump 2018 Thread**
Pompeo heading to NK amid numerous reports denuclearizing is the opposite of what NK is doing. Could you imagine Trump's tweets if Hillary or Obama was in office and these reports were out there after they got back saying the nuclear threat was over? Funny Trump doesn't even mention it. Maybe Vlad told him not to.

Second Civil War
If Alex Jones says it is going to happen, it will happen. He isn’t part of the deep state or the fake news MSM. He uncovered pizzagate, and found out Sandy Hook was a fraud. A deep state conspiracy. He is real news. Keep listening to him and Rush Limbaugh Greg. They will get you the facts,

2018-2019 Official NBA thread
It will be interesting to see what happens in OKC. They are looking at a $150 million tax hit. Waiving and stretching Melo saves them over $90 million. So he is probably gone. Lakers?

No, it’s the hope that if they don’t sign him, they will get something useful, and now signing him seemed to be a foregone conclusion in their plan.Suddenly their “plan” is derailed by contract demands of a journeyman. If they can’t figure out how Nwaba will go in free agency, how are they ever going to land a star that route? They will always get trumped by someone. it is such fantasy to think they can execute a plan that will actually work. I am reading an article today how they can be the next super team and bring in Kyrie this and Butler. The article actually called for a trade of Kris Dunn for Kyrie . WTF? And the Bulls bring back Jimmy gets buckets? Do they forget the departure? He will non senior citizen DWade their collective assses and leave them standing at the alter.

Trump parroting a State News report the Iranian deal lead to 2500 Iranians gaining citizenship. Guess what Donald? Fake News. Fox News, the enemy of the people.

What is the best you are going to get for him? A 2nd round pick? This is a team that sells 2nd round picks because apparently $100 million a year in profit isn’t enough.

Luis Robert returns from the DL
The thumb in spring training was a total fluke. He didn't dive or anything. He just sort of glanced off the fielder. It is probably nothing, but to me certain guys always seem to have these nagging injuries all the time. Usually it starts a little later. With his luck if he did it your way he would fracture his elbow. I'm not ready to call him injury prone yet, but if he winds up on the DL within a few weeks after he is next activated, even if the injury is no fault of his own like a HBP, I will be there.
