He went for a second opinion and found out his hip was fine a problem with his back was causing the pain in his hip. Obviously you pass if the doctors say no, but if they are reasonably optimistic, it could make up for their winning streak and bad luck in the lottery.

If they were drafting in the top 3 or 4, I would agree, but if Wendell Carter is the other option, take your chances with Porter. You win with stars. Carter might be a nice player, but not a star. If everything goes right with Porter, he at least could be a star. That is assuming his medicals aren't horrific. Scottie Pippen had a bad back as a young player.

The only thing I am surprised at is, as bad as they have been, teams are actually worse than the White Sox. The Royals are a total train wreck and aren't exactly stocked with future reinforcements. And the Orioles tried to win and they are horrid, and will only get worse, for many, many years. I figured a few teams would be worse coming into this season, but I also figured the Sox were a mid 70s win team.

This is the worst Sox start the first 70 games in 70 years. They are 0-2 since they hit the 70 game mark.

At least they are fixing this problem. Unreal what had to happen for them to do it. Unreal they did it in the first place. Same here. I have been in some pretty aggressive funds for several years, but last week I had a q and a with a broker and it was determined I now don't have the appetite to be as aggressive. Going to get more conservative. I don't think it's going to crash right away, but it's going to crash and crash hard. In good times, you should be paying down debt, etc. We are just creating more.
