Porters medicals must be horrible since he is still on the board. Unless they were going to trade up, they wound up with no choice. A nice player, but so was Kirk Hinrich originally. But they are stuck. They cannot attract the premium free agents, and won’t draft high enough to get a top pick. NBA hell it is. it is a total Bulls move. They need to move on from GarPax. I'm with you on the draft pick. There is no way the Bulls get both 4 and 7. This is GarPax. Carter could be good, but the only way I would draft him is if the others are gone and I had to pick between him and Young.

He can say he's guarding me, but I'd light him up. The other thing is while he can rack up points, his shooting might be a bit overrated. 36% from college 3 doesn't seem like the next Steph Curry to me.

The problem is he can't guard me, and the Bulls defense is about as bad as it gets. I was watching something how drafting him would light a fire under Dunn, who is a good defender, and it would be possible he could break Young in practice. Seems a little far fetched.

JR and his agent are pretty tight. I'm sure the Bulls know what the deal is with his back, and hips can be related to backs. In fact, my dad was told he needed hip replacement surgery. He went for a second opinion and found out his hip was fine a problem with his back was causing the pain in his hip. Obviously you pass if the doctors say no, but if they are reasonably optimistic, it could make up for their winning streak and bad luck in the lottery.

If they were drafting in the top 3 or 4, I would agree, but if Wendell Carter is the other option, take your chances with Porter. You win with stars. Carter might be a nice player, but not a star. If everything goes right with Porter, he at least could be a star. That is assuming his medicals aren't horrific. Scottie Pippen had a bad back as a young player.

That's what I would guess, but you have to figure they will have a pretty good September. They always do when they aren't in contention.

The only thing I am surprised at is, as bad as they have been, teams are actually worse than the White Sox. The Royals are a total train wreck and aren't exactly stocked with future reinforcements. And the Orioles tried to win and they are horrid, and will only get worse, for many, many years. I figured a few teams would be worse coming into this season, but I also figured the Sox were a mid 70s win team.
