  1. Banister must think his days in Arlington are numbered. With the bunting he definitely seems to be auditioning to White Sox brass.
  2. I will say so what? I don’t see where getting their brains beat in here helps. If going down when they don’t deserve to be here crushes him, can you really expect them to be viable pitchers later on? Hold them accountable for stinking the place up. Go down to AAA, do well and come back up.
  3. I am not giving up on the guy, but his command is ridiculously bad.
  4. A trillion walks, a couple HBP, a WP, a few swings that look like the guy that has to play 2 innings, errors, throwing to wrong bases, and it’s the 2nd inning.
  5. Trump pressured the Postmaster General to double Amazons rates. She had to tell him they are bound by contracts and even if they wanted to change them , there is a review process. Then she had to show him how Amazon is actually beneficial to the USPS.
  6. Not only that, but what about a fire or other reason for evacuation? It's everything but, hey maybe we have to do SOMETHING about keeping guns out of the people who do this hands. It will be "too soon", then there will be a call from the left about doing something, then some more crazy Trump shit will happen and we move on. Over and over and over again.
  7. Apparently Uncle Rudy really lost it today on CNN when Chris Coumo played a clip of him telling Charlie Rose in 1998 that a sitting President must obey a subpoena to testify. I guess it all has to do with the letter after the name.
  8. Why up until a couple years ago, was there no need for metal detectors and armed guards and locked doors at schools? There were mentally ill people back then. Fix the cause of the problem. Locking the door and buying a metal detector is maybe a start. Might save a life or 2, but this needs to stoop.
  9. I don't think people really worry about seat belts anymore. Why you wouldn't wear one would be pretty silly. The last time I didn't wear one, I was involved in a head on collision. Luckily for me it was at an intersection where we both had stopped. He was drunk, swerved into my lane and totaled my car. My head hit the windshield, but I was oK. Do non smokers worry about smokers "rights".? How much nicer is it people don't smoke in bars anymore? There are condos where you can't smoke in your unit as it will leak into others. Smokers initially b****, but then adjust. They are amazing. I see people out smoking when it's 20 below windchill. People would adjust just fine if there were stiffer gun control laws.
  10. Then why won't Republicans do anything about it? Besides keeping it violent by trying to keep the poor and disadvantaged desperate?
  11. First off, state lines don't stop guns. Secondly, Trump's talking point about Chicago having the country's toughest gun laws? Would you believe, fake news? Chicago itself has some tough laws — there is an assault-weapons ban in Cook County, for example. But it's not true that Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the country. At one point, it did have much tougher laws — it had banned handguns in the city limits, but a 2008 Supreme Court ruling declared that ban unconstitutional, and a 2010 ruling reaffirmed that. The city also had had a gun registry program since 1968, but ended it in 2013 when the state passed a law allowing the concealed carry of weapons.
  12. You are basically telling the NRA and the politicians who are kneeling before them they are full of shit. That more guns doesn't make things safer. Practice what they preach and see what happens. I will offer my thoughts and prayers in advance.
  13. What they should do is lower the price of concessions. It worked like a charm for the Falcons. They already do it for $1 dog Wednesday. Make a beer $5, you are still turning a huge profit. The tickets are pretty much minor league priced. Make the concessions minor league priced until you field a major league team. From the sounds of Sullivan's article about how JR feels, it doesn't appear they have many tickets sold for the rest of the season.
  14. Oh, I can see it. It's the right that can't see it. They don't want to be shot, so no guns. Yet they claim we are all safer if there are more guns. NRA campaign contributions are a hell of a thing.
  15. He tried. His hands were tied. The little he was able to do, including a provision about mental health, Trump repealed it. It pretty much is a Republican thing.
  16. It wouldn't totally prevent it, but maybe the amount of times it happens goes down. Doing nothing hasn't helped. More guns isn't going to help. If it was the answer, they wouldn't be checking people for guns at Trump rallies and at Pence's speech at the NRA convention. If more guns was the answer, and made things safer, why would they ban them at these events?
  17. Has anyone here ever attended a Trump rally? If so, do they check for guns?
  18. No, now it's kind of late. New news cycle. Besides, that was all a hoax.
  19. Yes, and if Russell is half the player he is supposed to be, he can be flipped as well.
  20. Thoughts and prayers, way too soon to talk about any kind of gun control. What will work is if everyone is packing. Then no one will ever get shot. More guns, less shooting. Very logical.
  21. Can someone point to the law democrats are responsible for according to Trump that forces the break up of families, or is that just more dishonest, fake news the media has him on camera saying?
  22. If it is a hitter, no question, I agree. I would take Mize or Singer also. Madrigal is someone I believe can’t be screwed up. If he were 4 or 5 inches taller, he would probably be the consensus 1-1. This is baseball, he isn’t a 6’3” power forward or a 180 lb middle linebacker, take the baseball player.
