I agree. At least it is an away game. They are the one team this year where it will be a playoff type atmosphere. I would think they would want to have him start out vs. someone else, but whateves. if he shuts down the Cubs, his legend will only grow.

I got one with onions. The lady working was sweet on me. She told me not to tell anyone.

The dollar hot dogs are the big ones, at least they were last year.

I have always been waiting for a beer to get to $10. The Modelo's are there. The domestic, non crafts are $9. It amazes me how people load up at the park.

They support it in many ways, but not with their wallets.

The problem is, some team(s) will. Losing 95 games anymore might get you the 7th or 8th pick. Is being that awful worth the opportunity to draft Carson Fulmer? I am not one of these people anymore, but the White Sox should do something for the premium ticketholders, like lock in their rates for when they are good. They aren't the business expense write off they used to be. Some people are shelling out tens of thousands of dollars for this crap. Someone watching on TV in Ottumwa probably couldn't care less, but these people are paying some freight.

He is the right handed version of John Danks.. But he was good in 2015. And he has little control if a miracle happens and he is fixed.

H denies it. That means, like Rob Porter his life is being ruined for no reason. He must be a fine man.

The Ozzeroo was on NBCSC the other day, and he thinks Anderson winds up in LF.

Great to read. TBH, wasn't a big fan of his pitching, but he seems like a great guy. Looks to help teammates. Is admired by all of them, and seems like a great family man. So happy for him and hi family and friends the scary part seems to have passed. Great job by all the medical people, from those who first helped him to those caring for him in the hospital. Maybe this will put a little spark into the team.

Except for 1 start, Q has either been awful or outstanding so far this season.
-
Looks really good right now, and hopefully it even looks better a couple of years from now. Still don't want to count the chickens before the hatch, but Eloy seems as can't miss as can be. Cease looks great, we will see if his body holds up. That is probably the biggest question with him.

The players association has at least partially blamed all of the tanking for the less than robust free agency last offseason. I wonder if the next labor agreement will include a lottery. That could really be a game changer, but probably favors bigger market teams.
-
That is true.Except for maybe a couple of small market teams, most of the teams in a full rebuild don't have the same regime in place that caused them to have to go there. I would call the White Sox a mid market team in reality.
-
i get that, but if you did a house renovation and weren't happy with the work someone did on an addition to your house, if down the road you were in the market to build a new house, you probably wouldn't consider those people. At some point, the rebuild is going to be back to signing or trading for the correct veterans, something these guys have really struggled with recently.
-
If Theo had the assets the Sox had to trade, I think most would rather he be the one making the decisions. But most would rather have Theo make the decisions than any other GM. And it isn't like Theo has made some huge mistakes, just not as many as most, and he's run teams that can afford multiple missteps. Let's face it, while many of the Sox moves made perfect sense before the rebuild, most of them were train wrecks. When the Sox youngsters are ready, the same guys who made these mistakes will be supplementing the team. If someone had no confidence in them before, I don't see how they would now. It will be interesting to watch. Frankly, anyone could trade Sale and Eaton and Q and get some nice minor league talent back. I do give them credit for being patient with Q, it seems to have netted them a far better return. They did spend money on Robert, which I loved, but now you have to wonder. While he seems to have all the talent in the world, it remains to be seen if he will be able to stay on the field, and how much this period of very little baseball affects him.
-
Of course, but they also got lucky. Arietta was much better than they possibly could have imagined. Hendricks was much better than they could have imagined. The Astros passed on Bryant. Hoyer gave Theo Rizzo for Cashner and a job to be named later. Any one of those doesn't happen, the drought is probably still on, and White Sox fans appetite for a full rebuild is probably not as big as it was.

I am not as anti bing as most, but he had Anderson bunt who has been on fire his last several ABs, to get to a carrier .166 hitter, currently sporting a .449 OPS. If it were the other way around, I would have no problem.

I really don’t know how a 95 loss season is all that effective. If Robin were here last year with the same squad, the 95 losses would be a lot more his fault than the lack of talent.

I think the pressure should be on Hahn and KW. They are going to have to have a somewhat competitive team next year, and 2020; they have to contend. A few are gung ho over the rebuild and almost think it just about guarantees multiple championships, but think about it...will they be better than the Yankees, Astros, Red Sox, Braves, Phillies, Cubs, Padres, Dodgers in 3 years, 4 years, or 5 years? Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. Rebuilds are a marathon, but the Sox with Sale, Q, and Eaton, got about a 20 mile head start. Most teams are lucky to have one star with a team friendly contract to trade. They had 3. If this rebuild doesn’t go reasonably smoothly after this season, JR has to suck it up and make a change. i really thought they would win 74 or 75 games this year since they play so many games vs. brutal teams. They would have to play .500 the rest of the way to win 74. i am at least a little concerned at least a couple guys they will be counting on when they should be good, could get contaminated with this losing. I get finishing third doesn’t get them anything but a worse position in the draft, but they way they are losing, the volume of the losses, this can backfire as well. Guys get resigned to losing, it could be a tough habit to break.

Twins @ White Sox 6th May 2018 Game Thread
Dick Allen replied to Bazox's topic in 2018 Season in Review
You have to love having Anderson bunt to get a RISP for Engel. If doesn't really matter this year but it will eventually. If Renteria wants to hold his players accountable for playing the correct way, which he should, he should be held accounable managing the correct way. -
Avisail Garcia to the 10 day DL, Palka called up
Dick Allen replied to Ducksnort's topic in Pale Hose Talk
For Avi, I thought the same thing so I googled and saw a quote from Hahn a couple of days ago where it will be a “few” weeks. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/ct-spt-white-sox-joakim-soria-201803-story.html know nothing about Rodon since the last update which seemed encouraging. -
Unless he is a premium DH, if a player can’t play hard because he might get hurt, he shouldn’t be in the game. I am am starting to wonder about sports medicine myself. Now guys need all these days off, in basketball can’t play heavy minutes. Can’t be given the ball too much in football. The guys that played the hardest to me were Pete Rose, Walter Payton, and Michael Jordan. They played hard all the time. Except when MJ broke his foot, they hardly ever missed a game, and had a heavy workload, they all would be considered well beyond abused these days.

John McCain must be near the end. They are already planning his funeral and Trump is not welcome.
