  1. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 28, 2018 -> 02:31 PM) Obvs because Trump is racist sexist xenophobic and antigay. He clearly loves picking fights with black people often telling them they should be grateful. I am not saying he doesn't pick fights with white people, but a large proportion of his feuds are with people of color.
  2. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Jan 28, 2018 -> 07:25 AM) I met and talked with Ed Farmer at Soxfest yesterday. He has had serious health problems. I can't help but wonder how much longer he's going to be working. He actually had to have someone helping him walk off the stage at the seminar he was at. This getting old is no fun. I hope he is doing OK, and the issue is just getting off the stage. He is really knock kneed. I wonder if that is why he required assistance. I would think if he was in really rough shape he would have stayed home in Cali.
  3. QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ Jan 28, 2018 -> 06:14 AM) Merlin Media, the company that actually owns WLUP and WKQX, has indicated that it will operate the stations after Cumulus gets approval from the bankruptcy judge to back out of the arrangement. My guess is that the Bulls and White Sox may be talking to Randy Michaels (the man in charge of Merlin Media). I may be totally wrong, but I don't see many possibilities for the Bulls & Sox to land on any other big music-orientend FM station in Chicago. Perhaps the Bulls could go to the new Rap Oldies station owned by Entercom (formerly CBS), '104.3 Jams' WBMX (formerly Classic Hits 'K-Hits' WJMK). http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-...0119-story.html . 105.9 is my guess.
  4. QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ Jan 27, 2018 -> 11:02 PM) My guess is that could be 97.9 WLUP 'The Loop'. Most major market FM music stations that are owned by big broadcasting corporations and subscribe to Arbitron (or whatever the ratings service is named now nowadays), are not going to pre-empt nonstop music formats for any sports play-by-play. But Randy Michaels, the man in charge of Merlin Media, the company that is about to regain ownership and control of WLUP and WKQX, is known to think outside the box. He supports non-music, spoken word programming on FM. I remember that some Stanley Cup hockey playoffs, also football aired a couple years ago on WLUP and All News WIQI (now WKQX) when Randy Michaels was in charge. I'm located north of Lake Cook Road, right in the center of Lake County (Illinois), and WLS comes in just fine using a $20 radio. I listened to 5 hours of the Soxfest live broadcast today (from 10 AM to 3 PM), with no problems. Plus, I'm sure if I drive anywhere in the suburbs west Interstate 355 (which runs from Itasca to New Lenox), I could easily hear WLS in my car. Perhaps your reception problem is because you are located in McHenry County, which is quite a distance from the WLS transmitter at Tinley Park. Also, if you have a cell phone charger in your vehicle, don't plug it in while listening to AM. There are high performance AM radios made by C. Crane which will solve everything for you when listening indoors, but that doesn't help your reception problem in your car. Well then the Bears, Blackhawks, and Bulls are "complete jokes" too because those teams do not air on Sports Talk stations either. Chicago Bears - WBBM / WCFS-FM (format: All News), Chicago Blackhawks - WGN (format: Talk), Chicago Bulls - WLS (format: Talk). . Cumulus is also backing out of its purchase of the Loop so I doubt it is them.
  5. I saw the story on ESPN at the gym. I have just lost a ton of respect for both coaches. However scummy you think Steve Alford was with The Pierre Pierce situation, this is that times about 50.
  6. Greg, keep on watching Hannity on Thursday said, “The New York Times is trying to distract you,” referring to its report that day that Trump last summer directed White House counsel Don McGahn to fire Mueller, but backed down when the lawyer threatened to resign. "Our sources, and I've checked in with many of them, they're not confirming that tonight," Hannity said on his program. "And the president's attorney dismissed the story and says 'nope, no comment, we're not going there tonight.'" But near the end of the segment, Hannity made an about face. “All right, so we have sources tonight just confirming to Ed Henry that, maybe, yeah, Donald Trump wanted to fire the special counsel for conflict. Does he not have the right to raise those questions?" Hannity said.
  7. It is for the best. I have flip flopped on this. It is too dangerous now. Even if you are paying full attention to the game , you could be in a tough spot. These days people pay far less attention. Looking at their phone, taking pictures....not only at games but everywhere. Maybe someday someone will come up with some netting you can barely tell is there when you look through it. But the time has come.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 26, 2018 -> 09:35 PM) Was switching channels and one of the cable networks had a host yapping about how Trump is not getting the credit for the surge in the economy. Said if this was a Democrat everybody would be celebrating in the streets over the economy. Go find yourself a chart. You may be in for a shock. Did you notice how much the economy improved under The democrat? Probably not, considering what cable and radio show you frequent. Trump uses the unemployment numbers now. Candidate Trump said they were phony numbers. There is an article you can google that tracks Trumps tweets about the stock market. When Obama was in office, bubble, bubble, going to crash. His first tweet about it while he was in office, bubble gone up all because of Trump.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 26, 2018 -> 10:30 PM) So, just to make sure, you do realize that in a few months the next one, or the one after that, or the one after that, or the one after that, will be a big Democrat right? That's the world we've lived in. That's the world we need to clean up. OK, thanks.
  10. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 26, 2018 -> 12:32 PM) Dozens of People Recount Pattern of Sexual Misconduct by Las Vegas Mogul Steve Wynn Wynn Resorts employees and others described a CEO who sexualized his workplace and pressured workers to perform sex acts. Mr. Wynn responded: ‘The idea that I ever assaulted any woman is preposterous.’ He's also the GOP Finance Chairman GOP Tweet from October, The Weinstein scandal put Hollywood’s hypocrisy in broad daylight. RT if you agree the DNC should return his donations. 7:45 AM - 9 Oct 2017 Will Trump return Wynn's money? Hypocrites.Every.Single. Time.
  11. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jan 26, 2018 -> 10:47 AM) He gave the same type of contract to Ferentz. Frankly though, i'm not sure why people are complaining. Both guys are good coaches. Ferentz has fallen the last few years, but for a while there he had Iowa football at or near its best in the program's history. McCaffrey had a good run just a couple of years ago. The timing is bad, but supposedly this was agreed upon last summer, but Barta had some health issues, prostate cancer or something, and they just signed it. It looks bad because the team isn't doing well, but they do have some players coming and are in good shape. His buyout still is significantly less than many Big Ten coaches.
  12. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Jan 26, 2018 -> 08:31 AM) How is Bannon saying women have been paid off help the president? Are they still beefing? What would be interesting is finding where the funds came from for the hush money. For some reason, I don't think they are Trump's personal funds. And Bannon, in an interview for journalist Michael Wolff's tell-all book about the Trump White House 'Fire and Fury', suggested that Clifford wasn't the only woman to receive a similar payout. 'Look, Kasowitz has known [Trump] for twenty-five years,' Bannon allegedly said. 'Kasowitz has gotten him out of all kinds of jams. Kasowitz on the campaign - what did we have, a hundred women? Kasowitz took care of all of them.' Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-52...l#ixzz55Imi5IVb Follow us: @MailOnline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook
  13. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Jan 26, 2018 -> 08:22 AM) Has Trumped denied it yet or say something along the lines of Fake News? It's been denied. Bannon said there have been many women paid off.
  14. Stormy Daniels to appear on Jimmy Kimmel the night of the State of the Union Address.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 25, 2018 -> 11:53 PM) Read an article about the asshole who molested all the gymnasts and will rot in prison. Yay! That bastard. Anyhow the article said MSU may get the death penalty over this. And then I read another story that said the school may be forced to close. Simply shut down by the state if indeed everybody knew about that bastard doctor's behavior. Really? Is this possible? Yeah , they are going to have a crazy sale on lecture hall seats. C'mon man.
  16. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 25, 2018 -> 05:34 PM) Said no one ever? Well, there was this one poster who you know better than anyone The only way I can see Ellsbury being involved if it’s a three way deal with us. This would be a crazy ass trade but makes some sense for all teams. Brewers -Trade: Brinson, Diaz -Receive: Sanchez, Adams Yankees -Trade: Ellsbury, Adams, Andujar -Receive: Low level C prospect White Sox -Trade: Sanchez, low level C prospect -Receive: Ellsbury, Brinson, Andujar, Diaz
  17. The market for the huge contracts hasn't changed all that much. The Mets don't spend much anymore but that is on Madoff. Other than that, most of the teams that spend have spent. He just timed it wrong with so many guys and so many teams wanting to re-set their luxury tax situation and/or saving their wad of cash for next year.
  18. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 25, 2018 -> 01:52 PM) What proof do you have that he used them other than they were in the room. Nobody saw him shooting. Nobody knows what he did during the shooting. The aftermath shows platforms set up outside the window. You can't use a bump stock on a stand. You focus on some nitpicking point and go on all day but that's the truth. I think you ate up the NRA's cookie crumbs that made everyone look at bump stocks instead of semi-automatic weapons. LMAO. You concluded that bump stocks HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT HAPPENED IN LAS VEGAS, and write that. He used the guns with bump stocks attached. Audio analysis of one clip estimated that about 90 rounds were unleashed in only 10 seconds - far faster than a human being could repeatedly pull a trigger. Again, source?
  19. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 25, 2018 -> 01:36 PM) Those are separate posts. I didn’t say wanting bump sticks outlawed Id perverse despite your conflating. Look at the pictures from the hotel room. There are stands set up and guns propped. You can’t use a numb stock on a stand. They found bump stocks on 12 of his guns. If you google it, you can find pictures in about a half a second. Are you reporting they weren't used? Do you have a source? The guy had so many weapons and artillery in his room, he was breathing through a tube.
  20. I am not an autograph type, but if you are, it's a good place to go. The seminars are usually stellar covering a wide range of stuff, albeit with a fair share of fluff. I am not going this year as it is completely sold out, used to love when it was about half the price and they gave season ticketholders half off that. But if you go, there definitely are things that will keep you satisfied. Always nice to be totally baseball for a few hours in January. Who knows, someone might convince you Dean Anna is ready to breakout. It's one of those things everyone should go to at least once. Chances are you will want to go again.
  21. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 25, 2018 -> 09:54 AM) What a perverse world you live in. Bump stocks had nothing to do with the vegas shooting and would have almost no effect on gun fatalities in America. You learned what a bump stock was the day after the Vegas shooting. They're a distraction. Huh? And apparently since it would only have a slight effect on gun fatalites, wanting them outlawed is living in a perverse world.
  22. QUOTE (New Era on South Side @ Jan 23, 2018 -> 04:39 PM) “Thoughts and prayers.” Nailed it. Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump Earlier today, I spoke with @GovMattBevin of Kentucky regarding yesterday’s shooting at Marshall County High School. My thoughts and prayers are with Bailey Holt, Preston Cope, their families, and all of the wounded victims who are in recovery. We are with you! 2:26 PM - Jan 24, 2018

  24. Thome only behind Bomds, McGwire, Ruth and Giancarlo in HR %. Higher OBP than Rickey Henderson. All time leader in walk off HR. Same amount of postseason HR as Big Papi in 102 less plate appearances. Did it clean. He is more than worth. Very deserving.
