My wife contacted both Duckworth's and Durbin's office yesterday in regards to the Elizabeth Warren stifling which she took as both sexist and racist . She spoke to someone at both offices for quite a while, and Durbin's office asked her to draft a letter and email it to them. She's a lawyer who has argued in front of the Supreme Court so her letter was well thought out and written. Nothing will obviously come of it, but it is action nonetheless from someone who never acted before. If this picks up, things will eventually change. Who knows, maybe this BS going on now was the kick in the ass we all needed. Unfortunately, at minimum, there is going to be a lot of collateral damage that can't be repaired. And that is far sadder than Ivanka's clothes made in China not being sold at Nordstrom's anymore.

I am stunned at the lack of activity with the White Sox. I am glad they aren't settling, but I highly doubt the offseason rebuild plan was trade Sale and Eaton for some prospects, get a couple of guys off waivers, sign Geo Soto, call it an offseason. That's pretty much it. I thought they at least would have made another trade or two , even minor, and would have signed some more intriguing Spring Training invites.

That isn't baseball. If they are worried about time and pitcher usage, why not go farther, eliminate the inevitable bunt the first batter will perform, give teams a runner on 3rd with 1 out. The game isn't broken. No need to fix it. Speed up the rest of the game. No one complains about extra innings or overtimes in other sports causing the game to be too long. It's the time wasting during regulation that needs to be addressed.

That's part of the problem with acquiring top prospects. The love only has 2 ways to go. Either they are stars and it's level or it goes down. I know it has to be done sometimes (I didn't agree with the Eaton trade) but expecting all or even most of these guys to be top players is probably hoping for a little too much.
