  1. Hopefully they leave Parnell in. He isn't fooling anybody.
  2. Rallying for Robin
  3. How do you swing at that, like that on 3-1?
  4. Get 4 here, have the bullpen shut them down and get Shields his first White Sox win.
  5. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) If you've followed him since he was drafted you'd know he struggles each time he moves up a level for a short time. This was to be expected. The problem is there is no guarantee that pattern continues, and the Sox need him to produce now which makes the move a bit baffling.
  6. QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) I have a feeling the Sox will have no qualms giving Shields away for nothing as long as the receiving team takes on his contract. Of course. A team taking his contract would take on the entire contract, and the Sox would still get the money the Padres are paying them.
  7. 7 k's in 9 AB. Seems the Sox were right having Coats light it up in AAA, and leaving him there.Might have made decent trade filler.
  8. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:35 PM) Looking silly and not making plays are two different things. I don't think that an above-average RF would've caught that ball. Most likely not unless they were willing to perhaps knock themselves out.
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:31 PM) Lmao you were right It happens all the time.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:30 PM) Benetti is insufferable during garbage time like this. To be fair, so would just about anyone.
  11. Coop came out which means the count will start 2-0 or he will hit a rocket.
  12. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:28 PM) As bad as Avi looks out there, he's not the one serving up meatballs that are getting crushed to the back of the warning track. Around the fence OF can look real silly, especially if they aren't so good out there to begin with.
  13. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:24 PM) He was high on Desmond though the whole off-season. Gotta give him that. But he didn't want them to give up the draft pick
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:15 PM) Shields is obviously WAY off on his location/command. He gets hit, he knows his stuff isn't as crisp, he tries to nibble on the corners until he has to come in if he's down in the count. It's like Erik Johnson, in another form. Hahn has to go before Ventura. The Anderson and Shields moves were the final nails in the coffin. At least Latos battled, kept us in games more or less and didn't cost $30 million. All we had to do was sign Ian Desmond and we could have kept Anderson in the minors this season to protect him...but no, we took a reliever instead. Ian Desmomd, Ian Desmond...you wanted to sign him in June. Now, with hindsight signing him was the obvious move you wanted them to make all along. But it wasn't. $10 million for Latos, $8 million for Parra and sign Desmomd in June. That is Caulfield without hindsight. No so good. Although I did appreciate how when Duke stunk up the joint a week or so ago,you claimed you were against that move from the beginning. I will get in trouble if I show your actual post in the Duke signing thread, but let's just say, your memory is a bit off.
  15. Coop will fix him.
  16. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) Could shark have netted Fulmer from Toronto? Wasn't Fulmer from the Mets for Cespedes? And no way.
  17. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:53 PM) I'm no fan of Robin as a manager, but how can anyone blame him for Shields? Because.
  18. Avi doesn't even bother with his hands low anymore,
  19. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:47 PM) Should've traded Shark last year in June I will take the kid who throws 103
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:40 PM) No way anyone can convince me this team is trying hard tonight What?
  21. QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) He could not bat Anderson leadoff. That would be a start. That would make a huge difference.
  22. Clearly Robin was a fool for starting Avila Shields' first start.he is very familiar with Navarro, and tonight's results prove it.
  23. Somewhere John Danks, Eric Johnson, and Mat Latos are laughing.
  24. Shields may suck, but this is hard to believe.
  25. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 06:54 PM) Man I don't even know haha but if I had to take a stab: Eaton CF Anderson SS (because f*** it) Abreu 1B Frazier 3B Cabrera LF Lawrie 2B Navarro C Garcia DH (if you're going to put him in, DH him) Shuck RF (I'm assuming we're facing a righty. Other wise Coats) Glad I'm the one who isn't in charge of writing the lineup. Coats is in there. They are facing a lefty. I don't see how he can be criticized for trying something a little different.
