  1. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) Full Transcript of Sale: http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/chris-...roche-situation He sounds a lot less crazy with the entire transcript.
  2. Now I read what Sale is referring to with the lies is KW. Apparently KW said players came to him, then changed it to coaches came to him, then said it was JR. Maybe that's why they want to meet with JR. And Frazier told Levine players did not complain about it at all.
  3. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) I think the tension between the players and KW has been building for awhile, and this incident was just the straw that broke the camels back. If KW's actions were caused by players coming to him, it's a pretty crazy thing he's getting players' wrath right now.
  4. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:51 PM) Hey I'm almost on board with this. KW is the one who really botched this s*** up. He's supposed to be the sophisticated Senior Exec with the MBA. KW doesn't have an MBA. He has 1 semester at Stanford.
  5. QUOTE (shysocks @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:51 PM) Caulfield, what's about the only thing that would fix this? It's actually some of Caulfields best work. I don't think I had to look at it 4 times, but it was pretty good.
  6. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:47 PM) How is he bringing the team together? It worked in Major League. If there is truth the the thought that KW is hated, no one is going to be bothered by Sale's comments. Besides guys who go off occasionally are pretty well known, and most of what they say goes in one ear out the other.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:36 PM) I'm confident he's not the one they're referring to I don't think Eaton is a good enough actor to pull it off either.
  8. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:33 PM) Wouldn't surprise me. Well Sale is complaining the loudest. I don't think KW has it in him to hold back if he was the one who went to him.
  9. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:26 PM) Come on man, you know that's way off. It's not about KW, it's about whether or not you should publicly denounce your own boss. It's about dissension within a team. I think it would be much worse if he was going after Robin. KW is too far removed. A poster yesterday knew an ex player or someone who knew an ex player and he said everyone hated KW. So it's really not a big deal. All those who want the Sox to trade Chris Sale now will be creaming over him in June if he is leading the league in ERA and strikeouts. It will be like this never happened.
  10. QUOTE (shysocks @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:23 PM) What a completely stupid point. The difference between somebody on this message board sounding off on KW and a player on the White Sox doing it to the media is wider than the Grand Canyon. The point being those who rip KW constantly are now ripping Chris Sale because he is ripping KW. It's right on point.
  11. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:21 PM) I just wish this never happened. It's like going to the dentist. It hurts now, but in a week or so, the Sox will be fine and will theoretically have $13 million to play with.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) Oh come on...he's not our superior No but he's also not doing anything this board wouldn't be doing if it was a player we liked as much as he apparently like LaRoche.
  13. So Sale is now an idiot for firing on KW, something this board does with regularity when a player acquisition doesn't work out.
  14. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:55 AM) Well Eaton said he was told by LaRoche that it was in the contract so there would be no need for a hand shake deal. If it isnt in the contract that means either Eaton or LaRoche is lying(likely LaRoche) so why should we believe him if he said there was a handshake deal after that? See what Hahn and Robin say. They have been awfully quiet. Doesn't Hahn negotiate contracts? It's funny you are trying to nail me into a wall. What if it is in his contract? Are you going to admit KW was out of bounds?
  15. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:54 AM) WE wanted him to quit. I'm saying he quit on his teammates, and they're backing him and his decision. And yes, he is a quitter. He chose his family over his job. It happens. It isn't Michael Jordan "retiring" so he can go drive his kids around. This guy actually walks the walk and talks the talk when it comes to his kids.
  16. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:48 AM) If it turns out it isnt in his contract, since Eaton now claims it is, are you going to admit LaRoche is wrong here? If it isn't in the contract, and there was no handshake agreement, absolutely.
  17. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:41 AM) JR needs to tell the players to stop the b****ing and get to work. And do any of these players care that their teammate quit on them? Granted he was pretty useless, but still, he quit on them. For the love of God, stop with the he quit on them. It is exactly what 99.99% of this board wanted him to do all winter. Now he's a quitter. Seriously?
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:39 AM) If KW did lie about Rollins/Avila going to him, then he does need to be fired. But, I doubt he did. Chris needs to stop being a child. I don't think he should be fired for that, but if it is in LaRoche's contract, IMO, that is an offense where he needs to go. Messing with obligations with player contracts, whether financial or otherwise, would be a gigantic problem.
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:23 AM) Amazing how people respond to a fellow who stand up for himself and what he believes in rather than roll over That is because of his numbers both on the field and on his check.
  20. If Eaton is the player rep, his being out in front makes a lot of sense, whether you agree with what he says or not.
  21. QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:12 AM) 24/7 total access???? He didn't have total access. Here is a story about him from last June. Even Conor Gillaspie likes the kid. It stated there were times his access was limited. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0620-story.html
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:07 AM) Which creates even more issues in the clubhouse. So if some players complained, you don't think guys like Sale have any idea they did? It would seem to me he would think there were some snakes in the room who go crying to KW anytime they feel like they need to. I think this whole thing would have been better served if the guys who had a problem, if there are guys who had a problem aired it out with LaRoche and the rest of the team. Part of this s*** storm is KW not being in the clubhouse much making clubhouse decisions.
  23. QUOTE (shakes @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) And you have railed on people for speculation. You are like a cartoon character, right now. What? I asked what he meant, fathom said he had a guess. I told him it seemed like a good guess, but I have no idea. Buzz off.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) Next thing we'll hear is Sale saying if players had an issue, they should have addressed it and not gone to Kenny To that, I 100% agree.
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:01 AM) Quick guess is KW told the clubhouse LaRoche didn't have an agreement with the club prior to signing a contract about Drake's access Seems like a good guess.
