  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 7, 2016 -> 11:54 PM) Thank u. I was busy tonite and couldn't watch. What team was that they were playing? I never heard of 'em. St. Joseph?? Is that Pingatore's school? Yes small school in Westchester. They have been canabalized by Nazareth, Benet and Fenwick so their numbers are low.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 4, 2016 -> 10:56 PM) Yep He seemed to outperform his roster the last two years.
  3. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 10:26 AM) The scariest part of this season is that after the 23-10 start, for the rest of the 129 games on the schedule, which represented 80% of the season, the team played at a winning percentage that over an entire season would have produced a 100 loss season. That's what makes all of this talk about "going for it" next year questionable, at least at the moment. The starting point is a roster that played very poorly from early May all the way until early October. So with that in mind, it will be interesting, indeed, to see how the front office conducts itself this offseason. Take out the 10-24 stretch and you are left with the complete opposite result.
  4. Mets will win and blown their only starter in the process and then get swept by the cub.
  5. Hendricks screams greg maddux post season to me
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 10:51 PM) Holy cow. How can Rice be expected to hand MC a two-game losing streak? When's the last time Carmel lost two in a row? I'm dying to watch Rice play in person. This would be a good weekend to fly in. Rice game then Sox. Greg with a home win Friday, the last week of the season could pit 8-0 Loyola v 8-0 Rice at Rice......Loyola does not travel well......of course Rice has to get past Carmel and Rita neither of which are what they used to be. If the Rice QB continues playing like he has, they could be the best team in the state along with HF, Loyola and LWE. That Lockport conference is an absolute beast. The CCL Blue gets a lot of recognition but other than Rice and Loyola the other teams make their noise in the lower classes of the playoffs. There is a huge difference between 6A and 8A in the state playoffs.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 26, 2016 -> 03:05 PM) I've heard nothing but positive things about the show, and frankly it was one of the few positive moments with the south side front and center this year and the white sox stadium got to be a part of it. Chance has been a great ambassador for Chicago, let alone the sox. The stadium is much better equipped than wrigley and soldier field for a concert. Wrigley is abysmal for attending a concert.
  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 26, 2016 -> 09:02 AM) McEwing? Don't like that... Yep the success of the last few years has led me to believe that an internal hire should work well........
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 26, 2016 -> 12:50 AM) Actually what I said about not knowing any of the artists wasn't entirely true. I only know Chance the Rapper from his Sox commercials but John Legend, Lil Wayne and Alicia Keys are huge artists and I even knew about Skrillex though I would certainly agree that their genre is hard to pinpoint. I know the names of all of those acts and believe me those genres of music are not my cup of tea. That was an impressive lineup. My guess is the White Sox do not benefit at all from that concert.
  10. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) Well there is some good news anyway... According to Sneed in the Sun-Times today the Sox are in negotiations with the Guaranteed Loan Company to make some changes to the company logo that will be adoring the main entrance to the park. Seems they are concerned about the "downward pointing arrow" and the implications for a baseball team according to Sneed. It will just be around the front / main entrance according to his story. Mark Sneed is a woman.
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 10:43 AM) Now I get that. I guess its commendable. I'd move on to a different candidate because of it though. I would agree with you but he was kind of pushed out by the cub so I see his point with the White Sox and don't think it should reflect on him as much.
  12. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 07:35 AM) Solid choice! He did an awesome job managing the Rockford Peaches. He also saved Private Ryan. Get him signed! and landed a plane in the Hudson River.
  13. I said this in the cubs thread a couple of months back but I think it will be Chris Bosio.
  14. amazingly enough they were able to score without bunting
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 04:13 PM) Let's get a walkoff. Surprisingly long game for 1-1 there it is
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 03:16 PM) The team would be tons better if he could give us even #5 starter type of stuff, let alone a #3/#4 starter. I am more hopeful for him in 2017 than I was Danks the last few years.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 02:20 PM) http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/1755432...on-mlb-database That was a pretty fascinating article and AJ Preller seems like a shady guy to say the least.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 11:07 AM) Yeah, see this is what I mean, so income is up 5%, savings is basically unchanged, but nothing else is growing, in fact key indicators fell last month Retails sales -0.3%, after +0.1% in July GDP up 1% in the first half of the year Gas sales down 0.8% Auto sales down 0.9% PPI flat Where is the money going? The entertainment utility industry - cell phone, internet, television.
  19. If Tigers win the world series will opener be Sunday night or do the cubs already get that game v the cardinals?
  20. Road sereis in April and May with no home series longer than 6 games and one of only 3 9 10 10 9 3 at home 6 (15 of 18 on the road) 6 6 Then only one series more than 6 games the rest of the way. Play a ton of home games in June, July, August.
  21. Remember when the White Sox when 24-10 and there was a rumor of 100,000 tickets sold to fans looking to come out. Attendance last night was really something. Beautiful night for baseball.
  22. Watching the Night Of on HBO, pretty good.
  23. OK I am a Sox fan and think I know the minors to some degree but until this weekend I thought he was the guy they picked up from the Astros earlier this year. Why does anyone think he does not have a viable future? He seems to do things decently enough and does not have any glaring weaknesses and is only 24. He has no pop but he walks some and doesn't strikeout all that often. His MiLB stats are not much off of what he doing currently..... He seems rather overlooked if you ask me.
