2014-2015 NFL Football thread

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 19, 2014 -> 09:12 AM) I dont even care what hester thinks about his last few years in chicago. dont complain about not being involved in the offense if you cant break huddle in the middle of a game without Jay or the other wide receivers telling you the correct place to line up. I yelled f*** you at the tv when I saw him moaning about that. He made way to much money to b****. -
I would love for the White Sox to piss all over the Tigers cheerios as they did to the Sox in 04 I think it was when they were the worst team in baseball and won what seemed like half of their games against the Sox.

http://deadspin.com/the-nfls-useful-idiots...ough-1635948177 I liked this read. I think the bigger thing is if the federal government installs an unbiased commissioner and not an owner puppet. Every commissioner was promoted from within their organization, well the NHL guy was an NBA lifer first. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 12:37 PM) When I posted this, i heard on the Score that the contract was terminated, but on twitter i am reading "suspended". So, when all blows over and suspensions are served and fines levied, the contract will go back to normal i am thinking Not really, the idea of marketing is getting a person folks like, to promote your product. Kind of like how Barry Bonds is not promoting Under Armour. The guy was the poster child for that brand and made it into what it is today.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 01:29 PM) OMG A COLLEGE STUDENT SAID SOMETHING IGNORANT. I CANTS BELIEVES IT. This is seriously just looking for stuff to complain about. This is almost as bad as TMZ following Manziel around frat houses looking for him to do something stupid. The only example Winston has to set is to his teammates on the field, he isnt a role model He needs to be a role model to the NFL. Also the fact he was "cleared" of rape charges is what makes this stupid and why he was suspended. I suppose the girl that brought the allegations thought it was a really cute scene by ole Jameis. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 12:19 PM) They only got the lottery perspective. They wouldn't have to be aware or not if he hedged elsewhere. Sounds like a really cool lottery and one that would bring me out to the race track. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 13, 2014 -> 12:10 AM) Detroit? Omaha? Make it stop. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colle...0911-story.html Glad to see the Big is looking out for the students and making sure they can get to see their school's basketball team. I know that is naive but Washington D.C. did not seem like a good idea. They should hold in Florida at least the weather is warming. All about marketing. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 12:10 PM) this is so stupid i cant even put it into words. suspended? wtf With the fact the guy actually was under investigation for rape and probably should have gotten convicted for it, this is a slap in the face to a good number of people. Not to mention the timing of it. This guy is bigger douche than Johnny Football and I did not think that was possible. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 11:31 AM) "Look at our proactive suspension, dont worry about when he actually did what he was shouting without consent" Come on he is just a kid. Picked a bad week to do that although with the championship and it only being a half I am sure FSU will not miss a beat. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 08:53 AM) Sadly this actually makes me more interested in him. The worse he looks the cheaper of an option he'd be. Only takes one moron and there are plenty of them out there. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 16, 2014 -> 09:27 PM) So who is Arrieta getting traded for this winter? Carlos Correa? Francisco Lindor? What a bad trade by Baltimore even considering where they are now it was still a really bad trade.

He has 7 kids from 4 mothers The vaccine and abuse things are apples to oranges to me. If Rusty and his legal team can prove that abusing your children is different than assault and battery he will win. If I stuff leaves in someone's mouth and then beat them with a stick, it is assault and battery. Just because it is his kid does not make it permissible. A slap and whack on the ass are a gray area. Causing bodily harm is not. Now Jay can bring out folks that can tell the court that there is no malicious intent on their part or no willful harm being brought. At this point in time it is like global warming nobody is right and nobody is wrong, as well as there are no laws being broken.

Nobody will sign Ray Rice because he is not good enough to be worth the headache. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 16, 2014 -> 10:01 AM) What he could do to Moss in his prime was what no corner in the league could do. He truly is one of the best ever and I think its unfortunate at times that he was part of such a good defense as he was overshadowed a bit by Urlacher but he was a truly exceptional cornerback who had a long run in this league. The one thing is, corners have been able to have longer careers. Maybe he is able to make his way back. If he was, as far as I'm concerned, there is always a roster spot in Chicago for him. Easily the best Bears cornerback during my lifetime. The cushion based let them catch the ball cover 2 was both a blessing and curse for him. -
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 01:33 PM) Good read http://regressing.deadspin.com/is-javier-b...0201369/+kylenw While reading that I kept wanting to see Willie Stargell or Kevin Youkalis but they never came up.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 02:48 PM) Best of all, he was a game changer off the field too!!! Yes a true leader. Over the last 20 years I can think of no combo of better player for the Bears on and off the field. He'll be around the Chicago Bears scene for a long time. Fabulous story and personality. -

Re-injury of the tricep muscle that ended his last season. Tough way to finish a nice career. -
High School Football in Illinois

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 01:37 AM) Where does St. Xavier play its games, Chaz. Is there a football stadium on campus? That'd be two stadiums really close to each other: Rice's and St. X. Brother Rice and SXU stadiums are very close. SXU is on campus. Greg it is just over that hill that was there when you went to Rice. Both schools have too many activities to share although Rice uses SXU for hoops sometimes. Badke's only downfall is he wants to train like a CCL Blue team (MC or Rita) and I am not certain the kids that go to Rice are looking for that. A good number of those guys are still looking to be three sport guys. Badke is doing a nice but it is a tough spot as the CCL Blue is tough. -
Ray Rice Cut and Suspended Indefinitely
Harry Chappas replied to ChiSox_Sonix's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Someone compared this to Watergate, come clean early and it all goes away. Snowball is rolling now and it could cost Roger about $800M in earnings from the NFL. This story is no longer about Ray Rice. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 12, 2014 -> 10:17 AM) Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 1h Tooth lodged in cheek. Hole in lip so big doc's index finger fit in it. And get this: Giancarlo Stanton still wants to return this season. Craig Minervini @CraigMinervini 7h #Giancarlo in good spirits, saying he was uplifted by his mates. Dental work on 3 teeth in Miami. Fractures will heal, no surgery expected Paul Konerko would have jogged to first base.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 10:13 PM) Im on season 2 of SOA and I literally have to pretend your posts dont exist. GRRRRR Like all shows it gets good and then you kind of realize that nothing other than Breaking Bad can be as good as they are at their apex for any length of time.

I worked all afternoon and just popped on to see the score. If the White Sox were in a pennant race I would have gotten no work done and they would have blown it in the 9th.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 03:24 PM) The defense this game has just been great. Should that be in green or are you speaking the truth?
