  1. You will find out Friday, then three weeks to get healthy.
  2. My assumption is that Getz and Venable were given limited control to begin with and you are seeing now that they are cutting bait as the contracts expire. Both knew there was nothing positive happening in the short term so Thames and Katz were run out and now we look anew. Oddly players being called up seemed prepared for the majors and there was growth of younger players so the firings seems odd compared to prior years of young player results. Katz bullpen work seemed sketchy at best over the yeas but I was never certain if it was he or the talent.
  3. I understand fully that there was no realistic chance they would but if they were running the model on pure statistics the White Sox always had a minuscule chance until mathematical elimination took hold, probably under 1% after May 15th but not completely 0. Maybe their model had the Indians at less than .5% thus rounded to zero. Sox could mathematically not be that low from day 1....well I guess maybe they could. I'm killing too many brain cells on this.
  4. He'd be fun to watch in tank years....maybe tank years are behind us......maybe......hopefully Smith showing is great to see, I get they need bats but that arm can't be beat.
  5. Is Nishida someone that should get a look or is he just a neat player for minors baseball?
  6. Yes which is why their data is flawed. They are taking liberties with the data
  7. He is a catcher. There is zero doubt he is the MVP. Will he win it????? Maybe. If the other option was not a Yankee and specifically Judge there would be no question. I am not certain how many games he has actually caught but if it was over 50% of them than he has put up one of the greatest season in baseball history in my mind.
  8. I am not a BR guy, more of a CCL guy but all of them do the Saturday morning walk through. I think it is a recovery thing, give the bulk of Saturday off and minimize the post game nonsense that was big when Greg and I were in southside catholic schools. Go to channel 32 Friday night lights interview. BR coach was on. The interview was really good. He seems like a good guy, very well spoken. I looked at BR schedule. Starters will get a reduced workload in 4 of last 5 weeks based opponent. At some point they need to make certain they can play a whole 48 minutes so that made sense. I am not certain how much they played in first 3 weeks but thinking it wasn't a full 48. MC v BR will have18 D1 players on the field.
  9. Watching that game was a joy after watching years of guys picking apart the Bears zone defense. The criticism of Williams is pure nonsense. They need to run the ball as that defense needs to be off of the field as it is awful. I loved Brady's analysis of Dak constantly checking down whenever Dennis Allen simply showed blitz. He is an elite DC but the talent is pretty sketchy on that side of the ball. The defense needs to rely on turnovers again and Dallas complied. Not sure that's going to go well. Drafting Loveland continues to be idiotic but I suppose they did not think they'd get Burden. O line was great yesterday let's hope it continues to jell.
  10. Go look at the remaining schedules. I'd love to see Cleveland bump Boston then Detroit and then have Detroit face NY in the wildcard.
  11. Hopefully Conor McKnight gets the gig. Not sure if he is any good but in the short samples I've heard he's been fine.
  12. This weekend will be a deciding factor for Brewers, Reds, cubs and Padres. I think the Mets situation will drag into next week. I really do not care about any team in the AL and would love a Brewers v Mariners world series.
  13. He should be the decision maker on Poles. Warren is about as useless as Ted Phillips. In actuality due to his time in the Big 10 he most likely cost the Bears Harbaugh which makes him worse than Phillips. My take on the stadium is that the Bears are slow playing it to pay as little on any early buyout on Soldier Field as possible but maybe that is not the case and Warren is just a tad inept. It's the Bears, they will fire Poles and promote Ian Cunningham. Firing Poles after 2027 wastes all of Williams rookie deal and then the Bears are screwed as Williams will make them pay and pay dearly for the miserable situation they have put him in.
  14. They have made a lot of worse moves than this one. He was worth the risk if he could have been flipped like Feddee last year and he seemed like a decent enough guy. Much better approach than the idiotic signing of Clevenger.
  15. On the radio this morning there was talk that he makes $2M a year and will easily be fired at any time. In theory this is true but this is not how the Bears operate.
  16. 100% reasonable thought process but this is the Bears. He is epically bad at his job and was given an extension two months ago. He is here through at least the 2027 season.
  17. They just extended one of if not the worst GMs in football for 5 years The new narrative will be that he drafted guys Johnson wanted. His history of drafting is an absolute joke.
  18. Poles and Warren are the epitome of the systematic failing of that organization. His massive draft failures now greatly outweigh the successes of the Carolina trade and we are seeing it weekly.
  19. Caleb and Johnson are the least of their worries. Poles is a fucking moron as Loveland was not drafted as a scheme decision and WTF was the Ozzie pick
  20. so Ben Johnsin gave up opportunities elsewhere to work with Poles.....bad decision but he can pocket the money and in 2028 become a great OC some where
  21. Special teams were awful I am not sold on Poles as a GM. The #4 receiver seemed to be targeted as much as any player and the fact Moore needs to play running back is asinine. Hope is all we got as Williams seemed to not progress over summer.
  22. The woman was 100% wrong. Her doxing is based on her appearance and actions and is not going away any time soon. In the end, the family won the day with the follow events from the Phillies.
  23. Taylor needs to be ruled out as a starter. His relief role hasn't given the rock solid indication I thought it would as to his bullpen results.
  24. I feel like Getz has been preaching this and is actually following through on implementation.
  25. When can SSS be excluded and the reality that he is a dude?
