Youkilis, $5.6 million traded to White Sox
Harry Chappas replied to Kyyle23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 11:09 AM) Well, it sounds like that waste of money will be Boston's problem, they just want him gone so Will Middlebrooks can do his thang without awkwardness. I think he would be a nice fit for the Konerko and Dunn's of the world. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 10:09 AM) Houston: 28-39 Cubs: 23-44 check the road records and you will become a little queasy -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 11:25 AM) He has to establish residency, get a work permit, and get cleared by MLB by July 2. It took Soler about six months to do the same thing. The wheels of justice spin easier if greased properly.

John Danks diagnosed with a grade 1 scapula tear
Harry Chappas replied to Baron's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Isn't there a theory that if you look hard enough you will find some sort of injury to a pitcher's arm. I am hoping that is what this is and in 3 weeks he will feel better. -

The pitching match-up does not look good. Team is playing well, just nothing to show for it over the last couple of weeks. -

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:59 PM) Stupid f***ing play by Danks. Looks like Thornton is going to lose the series for us. How cute. Wow really could have won 5 of 6 on this trip and will only end up with 2. Good thing is the Sox can play with anyone yet Ventura is having some growing pains. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:48 PM) I don't mind bringing in Reed if q had thrown 100 pitches...but there is just no need to fix what isn't broken. Get the f*** out of the kid's way and let him finish it. Over managing. Quintana was at 77 pitches. It is hindsight but that was a bad decision. I still can not get over bunting in the 9th yesteday with de aza to get the beckham match-up. -
Nice game. Sox are playing tough on this road trip. One question, why do you bunt the .300 hitting de aza in the 9th against a RHP so Beckham could bat? It worked out as they won the game but that was an assine call.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 10:49 PM) How is a near 6 ERA serviceable in the majors? He has good days and bad days which if you have 4 good starters is fine. On his bad days he goes three or four innings tops. With floyd doing about he same they both have to go deeper whether they have their good stuff or not. -

If Floyd was doing his job, Humber would be serviceable unfortunately neither is worth a s*** right now. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:29 AM) With regards to AJ, I really don't care if he pretends to hustle to first on a routine ground ball to 2nd. For him, he seems really slow behind the plate. He already has more passed balls this year than he had in each of the last two years, and his effort at blocking pitches in the dirt has been inconsistent. Maybe he shouldn't play every day This game was on Ventura. Sale should have been pulled at the first sign of trouble. If Santiago and Stewart are that unreliable get f***ing rid of them.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 10:34 PM) Rios been crushing the ball to the pull side lately Not to sound too much like Hawk but Rios seems to hit the ball with authority and get robbed a lot this season

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:39 PM) Yep, over 124,000, and now they have the Red Sox in town. Doesn't seem fair. Wish we could get half those numbers of Tigers' fans for Sox games in Chicago, at least we'd be making more money to go out and improve our team, and it's not like it would affect our home record all that much since we don't play that well at home anyway. But I can't imagine actively marketing Sox tickets to Tigers' fans...that would be crazy, although some colleges do it. Tigers play there 9 times a year annually.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) The series vs. Detroit broke the record for highest attendance for a 3-game series. Never mind that like 75% of the fans were rooting for the Tigers. This weekend will be 90% Boston fans, the media will not talk about that. With the cops detailed to the Valerie Jarrod wedding in Kenwood, Wrigley could be a zoo this weekend.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 09:02 AM) I'm sitting here trying to figure out how desperate a fanbase must be if this is the kind of garbage they want to be reading. Roland Hemmond is a f***ing baseball genius dare I say god. His reaches are far and wide and he gets little credit for his way of doing things.

With all of the recent off days you would think the pitching would be stronger than it has been sans Sale. -

Wow did this team just come crashing back to earth hard. This series is looking like the old corpseball days. Do the White Sox not advance scout the Jays? -

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 08:18 PM) Update?? by the looks of it I probably don't want to know. 3-1 jays, Peavy doing ok which is to say he has kept the Sox in teh game. Offense not doing anything big.
