  1. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ May 29, 2012 -> 03:21 PM) the cubs having a guest during the 7th inning really needs to end. the guests they get sometimes..i dont know who it was today, he was a chef i guess, he said he didnt know a thing about baseball. they had to just talk about food since he knew nothing lol Sounds like about 40% of all cub fans.
  2. That article makes no sense. Does he want him to start or doesn't he?
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2012 -> 10:30 AM) Despite still being a half game out of first, ESPN.com has the Sox at a 73.4 chance of making the playoffs, as compared to the Indians 27.1. Even more strange is Detroit in 3rd place, 3 games out, has a 31.4% chance. Call the Boers and Bernstein show and mention this and wait for their heads to explode. They believe the sox are as bad as he cubs.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 24, 2012 -> 11:10 PM) Cleveland is for real. Ozzie Guillen thinks their manager is a clown.
  5. Ricketts was on Mully and Hanley this morning He did not sound real assuring also Mully and Haugh who was sitting in, are terrible at interviewing people. They could not get a concise question out.
  6. The over the top die on every pitch Sox fans that sit on message are exactly what Hawk is. There is arguably no bigger Sox fan around. Sure he is getting up there and his act can get stale but I like it more than the Len and Bob show. Casual fans which I think are about 70% of the people watching the game enjoy the Hawkeroo.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2012 -> 03:50 PM) This doesn't seem right. I think he meant Tigers not Tribe.
  8. Liriano was a piece in a three for one trade deal so his stock was nowhere near as high as Wood or Prior right out of the gate. There were always injury risk questions as there was with Wood. In this conversation the impeccable mechanics of Mark Prior make him the greatest disappointment.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2012 -> 10:01 AM) I really liked the Modern Family season finale, outside of the stupid soap opera thing. I thought it was a decent ending to the season as the show dropped off all year. Also thought Mad Men was odd Sunday.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2012 -> 12:55 PM) Too bad the thread won't end right here. Hope not, I have a couple more colorful adjectives to use.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 23, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) Yes but how do we get the conclusion that Ozzie is giving away games and purposely blowing games by pitching a guy who had 27 saves??? I couldn't find a game by game of that year but as I recall he had a nice hot streak; maybe it was all of June. The Marlins are going to make the playoffs and Ozzie is going to manage there a long time. I just hope we continue to win on the southside as well. Guillen was great when he started then he turned into an egomaniac and brought a whole organization down with him because of his bombastic attitude.
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 23, 2012 -> 11:34 PM) Greg, remember this game from 2010? Just realize that Jenks only got the loss in that game. (what's totally awesome is that there are going to be several people who know, without clicking the link, the exact game I'm talking about, because it was by far the worst baseball experience of my entire life) What I forgot about that was how good the Sox were doing going into that series and then how tragically it all ended.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 22, 2012 -> 05:40 PM) Finally, I know what Jim Souhan is thinking. Guy sounded like he was trying to stir something up to get his name out there. He could not really say anything other than OD talks a lot and can make dumb base running plays. OK, sounds like he could be annoying but that dude sounded like a dick in his hatred but could not say really why.
  14. With Rizzo about be recalled. In what planet was Andrew Cashner for Anthony Rizzo a good deal. Why the hell do teams simply give the cubs good players?
  15. State Police were in the middle of everything. They also had some pretty big dudes.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2012 -> 09:31 AM) The funny thing is how much more focused the Sox appeared to be Saturday/Sunday after the incident on Friday. Assuming Konerko suffers no lasting effects, the events on Friday could be a huge turning point for the team this year. I posted that in the Konerko thread. Viciedo and Dunn really did benefit from the situation. Again this all assumes Konerko is back tonight and gets back to business. I really want the Sox to go out and win 2 of 3 in convincing fashion. Then I will start to believe the trends are bucking. Somehow though I see the Sox scoring 5 runs in the series and losing 2 of 3.
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ May 21, 2012 -> 12:35 PM) There's a story out there hinting that Berkman may retire because of the injury. They have to inquire about Dunn don't they?
  18. Stone had a nice analysis of the pitch on the SCORE they broke down the video and it showed that he was trying to snap the splitter off too much and it came out of the side of his hand which was why Konerko did not pick it up properly. Stone thinks he will be back tomorrow and better than ever. Anyone else think that Konerko getting hit may have done a bit of good as it keep two hot bats in the lineup without having to explain why Konerko would be out and let them play positions they were comfortable with? This assumes Paul comes back tomorrow and does not miss a beat.
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 20, 2012 -> 04:23 PM) What's the "DMS" patch on the White Sox jerseys? Rip moose
  20. 2 games, 12 runs, pitcher batting, no paul, slaying country strong style with a side of bad ass pitching mfers
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 19, 2012 -> 10:49 PM) Rather have him batting 9th. Beckham's hitting the ball very well right now, as he's made a lot of hard outs. Yes if Beckham is doing the job in the two hole he is a good ninth hitter
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 19, 2012 -> 03:59 PM) I still can't believe that Kaplan and Hollandsworth were so pissed off on CTL about the Humber throwing a pitch behind LaHair. You hit the unquestioned leader of the team in the face with a pitch in the AB after he homered....I don't care if it's a 15 mph pitch thrown by Gary Sinise, you have to stick up for your captain there. Konerko's injury is a lot more serious than a bruise on the back, etc. They are products of that environment where the cubs are holier than thou.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 19, 2012 -> 03:53 PM) Yikes, not good They can drain it and he will be fine that happened to me a few years back.
