  1. I want to like De Aza but he is too slappy for me. Reminds me of Wise.
  2. AJ does a lot of things right but driving in runs is not one of them.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 11:54 AM) I figure worse case, Iowa hires Keno Davis. Former Hawkeye, young, pretty charasmatic, and has done a solid job. Not an exciting hire though so I'm hoping they can hit it big. I'm also a realist and our program isn't what it was a few years ago. They do have a new practice facility being built though and they are 4th in big ten spend on basketball which should be enticing to plenty of coaches. Is he Tom Davis kid?
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 10:31 AM) Terrible terrible explanations BTW. This show is "Lost." My theory is that they alternate reality will show what happens if Jacob never existed, were they better off without the island. Either that or its going to show that no matter what lifeline they followed, they are always going back to the island somehow. In the alt timeline though, the island is underwater.
  5. QUOTE (striker @ Mar 16, 2010 -> 10:40 AM) Pena looked good last night. He looked overpowering against righties with the exception of the hanging slider he served up to Guillen. He looked bad against the only lefty he faced though. 4 pitches, 4 balls. With a man a second he pitched around Mitch Maier to get to...............Josh Fields worked like a charm. The hanger was not missed by Guillen.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 15, 2010 -> 11:40 AM) Take Lowery plz thanks He is on Depaul's short list.
  7. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) Can't blame that one on Huet. He played a great game. Bad loss by the Hawks not even getting a point out of it. With two minutes left that would have been the first game all season that Huet won by himself.....if he makes those two stops that would have been a helluva game. Still a good game by Huet.
  8. Nice job by the Hawk defense to stop playing with 2 minutes left
  9. Ugh Huet was having a really good game and that was not really his fault.
  10. QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 11:27 AM) Just for the record, I'm not a doctor, I'm a physical therapist and athletic trainer by profession. That makes you a doctor on Soxtalk.
  11. QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) Try voting sometime. Ya that Blago vote gets me all full of patriotism
  12. I like that the kid went balls out in a split squad spring training game. The boy's got game, heart and desire. I think he will work hard play by August, destroy the AFL and Venezuelan winter league and look to make the big club some time in 2011. It could be a good thing if he was on the KW trade list. It also could be bad if he was on the KW trade watch, depending on how you look at it.
  13. Nix looks terrible. Actually neither team seems all that interested in being there.
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 09:59 PM) Jones looking at lot like a corner OF playing CF tonight. Ya he looks like dye running out there
  15. Twittering Tea not looking real good when I watch. First two guys walk and then he swings at a ball in the dirt on the first pitch. 3 walks, 3 K's looking and a wild pitch get a run.
  16. QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 02:40 PM) I just found out that I will have the chance to stand respectfully and quietly during the anthem this Sunday!!! You f***ing commie bastard.
  17. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 12:55 PM) anybody remember this guy? Was that was actaully a cover? I have never seen it before. They used to have all of the covers in the bullpen sports bar.
  18. Every bullpen has questions and almost all of the more then the Sox. Linebrink should get two days off between apperances and be limited ot 50 innings.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 12:12 AM) Thats the beauty of what he does. Nobody is talking about any of the players doing badly, everyone is talking about Ozzie. He sets it up that way. Cowley was on WSCR last night and had some things to say about KW and his ego and Guillen wanting the spotlight and KW being a tad envious of this. I see his point but I do not think the Sox outside of AJ have a player that wants the spotlight thus Guillen takes on all of the pressure that comes with it. Maybe KW's feelings are hurt that Guillen's fame is rising and KW is getting pushed to the background. I personally think it is good for the team to have Guillen be the focal point. KW will get a bat if needed.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) I want to punch Bill Melton. He's worse than Ron Santo and that's saying a lot. Santo is paid to do his job I highly doubt Melton is even paid for christ sake he is on an internet broadcast.
  21. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) which is why I think if the offense starts off slow KW will pull the trigger on a trade to get a bat in I think KW would have passed on Pierre and Kotsay and went after Thome and Damon.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) Seeing that the 2003 year was one where we were quite close to winning the division, who knows what might have happened had we not made that trade. Many people think that the 2003 team was arguably the best we've had in over a decade. We wound up 4 back for the division and who knows if we kept those 3 nobodies if maybe one of them had a flash in the pan year that could have gotten us over the top...ala Cotts in 2005. Or maybe we could have used them as trade pieces for something more effective for 2003 instead of a complete waste in Ritchie. They would not have given Loiaza the opportunity he got if those three were still around and thus 2003 would have sucked. Then not traded Estaban for Jose the ace of the 2005 playoff run. In that regard the Ritchie trade was a gem.
  23. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 03:22 PM) Sox are denying Ozzie's wish to launch his own website How can they legally do that?
  24. Sox released opening day tickets. Upper Deck Box. If interested PM me and I will give you the pass code....oh screw it.....it is OPENER.
  25. QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) CQ needs to keep that up going into the season. Don't be the Fields-Anderson Award winner this season, please! Ya it is not like he isn't an MVP Caliber player when healthy. Has Retherford been around all spring I forgot all about him.
