All of the snow board things look the same to me. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 10:02 PM) Well, Smokey has killed a lot more people than Jacob. Not sure how Jacob killed Nadia. Ben knew who killed Nadia and we are still not sure if it was widmore (man in black) or Linus (Jacob) behind it. The assumption I thought was the man in black was behind it. The good guys like to tell us they are the good guys. As the man in black told us Jacob will do anything to protect the island which we are not sure why.

Bulls do not have to move Tyrus they can just non-tender him. If he plays well they could move him for something in the offseason orlet him walk. Deng and Heinrich are actually playing well enough to have value. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) The problem facing Boras if he did sign with the Sox is he would probably lose a pigeon in the Tigers. They have saved him many times. He could be using the Tigers against the Sox though. There hasn't really been anything from either team. All of this is from Boras is it not?

I am liking the Vonn story. I do not view X games sports as real so it is good to see the U.S. do well in alpine eventes with Bode and Vonn as well as my favorite the Nordic Combined. -
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) What's with the extremes? I never said "no one". I disputed your statement that a position player is always more popular then a pitcher and that Damon would be a more popular member of the Sox than Buehrle or Peavy. People will buy tickets now to see Damon they will not to see Peavy you know why don't you? I think that is DA's point.
-
With Damon there is no good reason to ever DH Vizquel.
-
Another thing I think that is driving this is the lack of left handed starters in the division. Pierre Damon Pierre gets a bigger lead as the catcher can not see to first and then the SS covers the bag and opens the left side for Damon to shoot the ball through the SS gap

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 11:16 AM) a serial number someplace I can't remember, etc. Door on Swan hatch....I beleive the muttering dude was the person that emblazened them who would now be dead from the blast, did not give them to Hurley thus Hurley just happened to get them right as far as we know and create his own luck.

The numbers of the crosssed out folks seem random. The Oceanic numbers obviously are the magic numbers. I am glad Kate is not on the wall. Could the Kwon be their kid? The kid I think is Jacob as he knows the rules. I like the off island stuff as it shows how the characters have changed. I am sure it will all play a big role in the end. The Linus, Rose and Hurley things were great as they show that some people are really willing to look out for Locke and are cutting him some slack.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 09:30 AM) Am I the only one getting the impression from figure skating that shockingly few of the contestants are actually any good? Seems like every single routine I watch, there's at least 1, if not more than 1 major fall or error on the jumps. I feel like I watched these 12 years ago and the level of skill of the competitors was an order of magnitude better than what we've seen so far. I think they are trying to do too much. I was more artistic now it is more arial. Man card was just handed in...... -
The Sox, JR and Boras have a relationship. Boras does not fit the Sox M.O. but as you saw with Jones and how quickly and cheaply he was signed Boras will do what his client wants. If Damon, and it sounds like his wife, wants to play in Chicago, Boras will not stand in his way. My feeling is JR is being asked to open his wallet for that guy that he talked about last January that they will increase the budget for. If Damon convinces JR that he is good for the franchise they will pay him. I like the move in that while not ideal it does give the flexability to the DH thing and adds a winner and MLB hitter.

Austin was not on the wall. Jacob came to her not sure if he touched her or the friend. Eastereggs of the cave are a must.

Will the White Sox anchor a new sports radio station in Chicago
Harry Chappas replied to thedoctor's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Bulls will go with them and thus have a sports talk radio station with a good amount of built in programming already out there. Dahl for the morning drive and North in the afternoon. Hubner and that doopy guy that probably worked for free on the SCORE for mid-days. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) It is the first priority for sure, but nothing would be a bigger disaster than dumping a bunch of players, having a terrible second half, and then having a repeat of the 2000 off season, where everyone viewed the Bulls as a joke and signed with different teams. Then to top it off, the if the Bulls picked two guys from the third tier of players and tried to sell it like they did something good, we could punt on the second decade of the 21st century as well. Derrick Rose, Noah, and Deng add the legitmacy that I think was lacking in 2000 -

I like Hub Arkush and he said the DePaul was one of the only guys that had any networking ability within the NFL in the Bears front office and was the only guy that could bail the team out. Seems like another Bear debacle waiting to happen. -
KW was on talking baseball this morning I missed the Damon talk but one point that was brought up is the rotating DH is to used to get favorable matchups. The first caller had a good point. Good teams dictate the matchups, bad teams try to make them as favorable as they can. KW said the rotating DH is used to rest guys from the field while still keeping their bats in the lineup.
-
Frank on CSN, nice interview. I think he will be more vocal about steroids then he already has.
-
If Hawk Harrelson presents him at the HOF induction ceremony it could be epic.
-
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) The thing is: rotating a DH could work. Earl Weaver (the best manager in the history of the game in my estimation) used to platoon the DH all the time, but he had the proper players to do it with. You exploit matchups by rotating consistent, proven hitters. You don’t gamble on people who moved past their prime in the mid 2000’s. I love the rotating DH..........as long as the options are viable hitters. Jones may be but Vizquel, Kotsay and Nix are not.

So they will honor Frank Thomas on a day when a decent percentage of folks will be cheering for the other team.... Why not do this to sell tickets to a game against a s***ty team?
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 09:30 AM) Only idiot Cub fans would debate that Ryne Sandberg > Frank Thomas. Idiots. Real cub fans will tell you that Frank Thomas was worse to them than the Sox winning in 2005. In the early 90's the White Sox were as good as any team in baseball and Frank Thomas was as good as any RH hitter ever. You need to also remember that Wrigleyville was a s*** hole and the the Sox and cubs were on even footing. Sammy Sosa was the answer to this and thank god for steroids.
