  1. Sometimes I agree with this point and then other times I'm not so sure. They always seem to be getting everyone either via trade or FA but it reality they finalize very few of these deals. They are light years better then the White Sox but that's a rather low bar.
  2. Seems something changed here. Was it possibly the stupidity of Hahn and Williams and not JR's policies?
  3. I like tha the Chiefs were complaining that they usually warn them. Yes they warn them but it is illegal and with a minute left you don't warn them. My guess is that he was warned earlier. It didn't impact the play but it's still stupid.
  4. I think it has come down to who will guarantee him the most without putting in kickers about his availability to pitch. Then there is, who owns the Blue Jays......Roges Communications. This is bigger then the baseball card. I wonder if they agree to play a series or two or three a year in Japan for him or begin games at 9:00 at night in Toronto to be on at 11 in the morning in Japan.
  5. I don't think they can punish the player so every player is freeto do as they choose.
  6. I wonder if JR would like to have an expansion team in Nashville and sell the White Sox. If a new MLB franchise is $2B+, he sells the White Sox for $1.8B, buys in at $2B+ with that group, no tax implication and then he is part of the new investor group in Nashville. Didn'tthat happen somehow with Montreal, Florida, Boston, Washignton? MLB gets a viable team in Chicago and then whoever runs Nashville does so with JR not controlling but a passive investor. Whoever owns Sox with Reinsdorf could actually buy him out and he could take that revenue to Nashville. I think it's more likely JR builds a 25K baseball stadium in west loop. Small stadium is less overhead and creates a greater demand for big games $$$$, if there ever are any. Jerry hasa $2B asset that generates limited cash flow.
  7. Soderholm Orta Kessinger Harry and Jimmy Don and Hawk Roland Hemmond Carlton Fisk Harold Baines Burns Dotson The Bull Juice Cruz Ozzie Thiggy One Dog Rad Robin Hawk and Wimpy There are the guys on every team that would make this list. It's why we are fans.
  8. He actaully was and compard to some of the washed guys they signed he was decent.
  9. Cover of Sun Times when Franco was signed was White Sox HIre A Hitman man was he good that year that Jerry ended early.
  10. Joey Belle and Julio Franco were proably the two best FA signings in the last 40 years
  11. I view certain guys as reason why the team failed. All I recall about him and Harold batting under .100 in June as the team floundered.
  12. I changed the colored tags on a game worn Jason Bere for $15 at Soxfest. I spent the $150 savings on beer at the Fest so White Sox Charities got their money. I burnt a part of it using it as pot holder during a tailgate. White Sox Charities karma at its best.
  13. I had great sits behnd the vistitors dugout. What a douche.
  14. Navarro - if you were a Sox fan at that time he is number 1 by a mile. I blame the white flag on him, his contract and JR never spending again George Bell - I blame him for 93 Jerry Dybzynski - I don't care if I spelled wrong I blame him for 83 Jeff S. Swisher Clayton Wells Manny Ramitez Jeff Keppinger Jose Canseco
  15. People ar acting like he was end of career John Danks.
  16. Yet another example of what a terrible owner he is. He needed to bring LaRussa back but not Leyland. Leyland was a much better manager than LaRussa. f*** Jerry Reinsdorf. Another hall of famer let go yet Kenny Williams had to destroy the franchise to ge fired.
  17. Shoudl have never have extended him. There were no signs to show he was worth that money. Although in his defense playing his whole career on teams that had a one point guard for a couple of months probably didn't help.
  18. Key for the remainder of this season is Fields and Braxton Jones to determine their fate and are the rookie D linemen for real.
  19. He'll still go number 1. Teams will look past that as they have no choice but to dream big. See Carolina, last spring. If the Bears get 1 and 5, I'd trade out of both if Fields is the answer. If you get a 6 and 12 and then another two firsts next year, you have a process in place. Clean out every coach and go get an experienced offensive mind at HC and an older DC that isn't going to leave.
  20. This whole thing goes to prove there was some sort of pissing contest in that front office. Why fire them when he did and then put Getz in there and go on some idiotic rant about competing next year and not wanting to give the next guy time learn the system. I'd have given him more credit if he just said, "I like Chris, I know he is inexperieinced but this thing is a mess and I trust he can build the organization we need." I handed the keys to Kenny and Rick and they drove it off a cliff. I really wonder if there was ever a conversation about spending on things Tampa does to keep the payroll low and win or if Rick and KW took the funding and wasted it on the Leury Garcia's of the world.
  21. Poles can play the I didn't hire this clown car coaching staff then he gets his hire. The Fields card ends after this year whichever way it goes. Hire an offensive head caoch that can work with FIelds and an experienced DC.
  22. This is churnign the 40 man which is what is needed. I like that Getz realizes they need organizational depth and this adds it. Will any of these guys pan out, who knows. We all know Bummer will be pitching next fall and dominate. This trade was Bummer for Soroka. The upside on Soroka is his major injury was not to his arm and Burger came back from it BUT its an ankle and pitching plays differently on that then 3B/DH. The Braves don't have the time for him to regain his ability.
