  1. I will be in attendance but see the normal White Sox let down and slump resumption, 7-2 Tribe. Porzio 3+ 4 runs all earned; Glover 2 IP 1 run earned, White 2 IP 1 earned Koch 2 IP 1 run.
  2. On top of that he was so dominating he probably only threw 70/80 pitches a game at the lower (college/HS) level. I thought his fatehr had him on a pitch count his whole life. Dusty Baylor will be in troulble if this one breaks down.
  3. Nobody benefits from lower attendance. JR just doesn't make as much per fan as the attendance grows. Instead of getting 80% of the revenue while atteracting 1M fans he is getting around 50% after 1.6M, he is not losing by getting more fans his bottom kind just grows at a lower rate but in total it is much greater to get 2M than 1.3M. The state and tax payers just benefit the more fans that show up, JR does not suffer.
  4. The thing is, if guys want to stay here they will renegotiate a contract rather than go to arbitration. Arbitration really does nobody any good unless you are an aging player that had a really good year and knows the market will not reward you (Maddux, Finley.) The guys we have will not benefit. What will Alomar get? What will Colon get? It is a crapshoot and a one year deal at best. The sad thing is, I like this team and wouldn't beef about getting rid of a corner outfield/1B/DH guy (Daubach/Evertett/Lee/Thomas/Ordonez/Konerko,) to improve a weakness. Maybe I am dillusional but I look at this team and give up analyzing it, therefore I point at the blockhead that is responsible for the day-to-day operation JM. He is being exposed as the fraud he is. We are finishing year three of a terrible division that we should have walked away with but knucklehead JM is pulling the wool over our eyes and JR is proving that he feels he is above the fans of this city and will do as he wishes. Watch attendance fall below 8K a game next years. Meet the dark years, this is White Sox baseball.
  5. I went to bed last evening thinking if Seattle and the Sox swept we would be right there. Now I could give a s*** about the rest of this season. I will not care about this team until they are a game out of first. I will not renew my season tickets and I will not attend to watch this piss poor organization any longer. This is a f***ing disgrace and although I do not feel the manager is to blame something needs to be done and manuel does not seem to be able to get this team to paly to their capabilities. That is the sole responsability of the manager. reisdorf and manuel are pathetic piece of s*** losers and I feel like a fool for spending money on this s***. one word disgraceful.
  6. Get rid of the manager and go form there. In 40+ years of baseball 'Hawk' has never seen a more underachieving team. I am not sure if winning will even bring me back for the first time in as long as I can remeber I have to say I feel I the same as this team, "I don't care."
  7. That same inning the cub fan in front of me was sure it was John Smoltz. At least he got the team right.
  8. Baptism is one step in a life of religous choices. Baptism is more for the parents showing.....ah forget it your too dense.
  9. Royals v. Mariners Sox v. Tigers Twins v. A's All are four game series and can be difference makers. I think a sweep is all that we can settle for.
  10. Baptism.
  11. I boo'd Baker because I think he is full of himself and has this holier than thou attitude and is untouchable because he is Johnny B. Baker. Prior because he has the same type of attitude (see hitting Bonds.) Bonds, see above, the Babe Ruth talk, makes me ill. The Royals becasue I am jealous of them, they both laughed and appeared to appreciate it. Guardado, (see Royals.) I think the players all took it in fun as at least they realize they are being boo'd because we are pissed they are beating us (cub players.) What is wrong with booing a guy, at least we recognize and understand why we are booing them. If we boo'd Ordonez or Loiaza I would have a problem. Booing Foulke is stupid but the remainder make sense and I thought they were in good nature. I am sure Barry Bonds could give two s***s that I hate him.
  12. Not by the looks of the stat line posted.
  13. These trades mean nothing if we do not play to our potential. The Twins have no starting pitching, to get Shannon Stewart would be nice but they still can not pitch. This is the same as us getting Everett, it looks nice but in the end our best denfensive outfielder (and one that has come through more so than others over the last few weeks,) is benched. We appear better but in all actuality we are not. Alomar makes us a better team, Everett helps protect against injury but greatly weakens our defense.
  14. Any loss this weekend that can not be blamed on the failure of one player (i.e. Danny Wright getting shelled, Kock blowing a lead,) and I think he should be gone. This past road trip was a disgrace. I find it hard to believe that KW has no power as he appears to be the one doing all of the talking. JM is showing he has no comprehension on how to manage. He wanted a bat, he got an all-star bat. We need one line-up everyday, it is that easy. No lefty/righty s***, the same guys, the same places. JM is unable to motivate a team on top of everything else.
  15. It is not on TV becasue Fox has exclusive rights to Saturday afternoon. The bigger joke is it is a day/night double header. If the game started at 3:05 with the second game following, it would be on television. The fans have to leave the stadium. There could be up to 3 hours between games.
  16. Via a work outing I was at the game yesterday. I am glad cub fans did not realize the Sox were losing and eventually lost. I gave 6 fingers a Standing 'O' and also cheered wildly when Sosa popped out on the infield both times. cub fans sure are a wacky bunch the guy next to me pointed out that both hits were not close to homers, I stated, "That was why I was cheering douchebag." This was after I asked him when Maddux signed with Atlanta and also that I thought Vinny Castillo signed with the cub. I proved I wasn't a moron when I explained that Bako was Maddux personal catcher with Atlanta for five years and the cub signed the wrong end of the battery. He didn't find it funny but I did give Dusty Baylor credit for knowing this.
  17. Harry Chappas replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He should make some comment of hoping the NL pitchers are not as good as the Detroit Tiger pitchers.
  18. Smells like an embarrassing sweep hey at least we have some hits today. Off to a work outing at Wrigley, it is amazing how dense cub fans are.
  19. From someone who did nto see the game, this was great.
  20. While reading that I only missed the attendance guess last eveining by a couple of hundred people, what was the deal with the Great Lakes Naval recruits? I think this would be an awesome promotion that really should have been promoted, especially with the 4th and everything.
  21. Don't take this the wrong way but I am more than excited to see Carl Everett then Anthony Webster. I understand that Webster may be the next so and so but he is in 'A' ball and when everything pans out he may not gets past 'AA.' In the grand scheme of things how many prospects actually make it to the majors (Lee, Rowand, Ordonez, Crede, Thomas, Buerhle, Wright,) this is more than most organizations. I would trade a position player almost any day in this situation but don't like to do so with pitching as injuries can impact the pitching of an organization. I think Reed and Anderson make this deal good/great for the Sox. Everett leads the Sox in RBI.
  22. I'll take 30,000 waving fans as oppossed to 12,000 b****ing about 18,000 more not showing up. I think the wave shows that the crowd is energized and excited and not reading a magazine or chatting on the phone. The pitcher of Loiaza and Jimenez doing the wave was a tad funny as well. Go SOx.
  23. 19,857, I hope I am wrong but we have drawn about 200K in five days, that is amazing.
  24. I think teh guys on the list are pitchers as follows Ginter, Wing, the dude they got for Loften, Meaux, and the guy they got for Alomar. I also have a feeling Borchard and Miles are on it.
  25. I suppose Neil Cotts can be something but in exchange for Keith Foulke he is getting Everett and Koch. Valentine is no closer to the closers role than Jose Valentin. I would miss reading the Cotts AA line every couple of days but in the grand scheme of things replacing Rios and Jimenez with Alomar and Everett makes this trade worth it. How is Matt Guerrier doing?
