  1. It would have been easier to explain walking one of the greatest hitters of all time and then lossing as oppossed to the situation as it unfolded. Like Sparky Anderson used to say, "You do everything in your power to not let their best player beat you." If we were winning you can risk losing this game but we need every victory. Do you think Jerry 'the genius' saw Tuesday and Wednesday as well as what the Angels did in the World Series. That was Barry Bonds that beat us, not the guy that hit the grand slam Wednesday. My point if Santiago hits a three run homer you cringe and tip your hat. This s*** needs to go ASAP but nobody is running this team right now so I give up, f*** this team, they don't care so how can I. I hate in this order, JM, JR, Paul Konerko, Buerhle (just becasue we are losing I actually still like him but I am bitter that he called me stupid.) :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou
  2. If Buerhle was .500, we would be .500 take hitting, bullpen etc. out of the equation. Colon, Garland, Stewart, Loiza and Wright all have the same defense and offense behind them. They somehow have found ways to win. It is frustrating as hell that he can not. Put this on top of turning down big dollars, "joking" about playing for St. Louis and then telling me I don't know baseball because I boo him, while knowing if he was .500 we would be in contention. Our season is a failure and he and Konerko are front and center, sorry but I am going to jeer them every chance I get becasue at this point in time they are monumental failures.
  3. I don't mind him struggling but when you start questioning the knowledge of the fans for not backing him up when he pitches like s***, I have a problem. The run support thing counts for everyone on this staff yet Buerhle feels he is the only victim of this. Last time I looked nobody was getting run support, somehow we still win on occasion and are above .500 when he does not pitch.
  4. 2-10; 5.18 29-35 If you do the math, this is the sole reason we are where we are. Loaiza lost 1-0 to Detroit and left with a shut out in another game yet he perserved and is doing quite well. Bartolo Colon pitches well into a game and keeps his team in it. In the paper today he goes on about how this is one bad outing, 5.18 ERA shows this is not the case. If he wants to blame the team explain how they are 27-25 in games in which he doesn't get a decision. From the Times; ''I can understand, but some of these fans don't realize that I've gone out there and thrown three or four quality starts,'' Buehrle said. ''I've ... done my job these last three or four times, and it was just one of those days today. ''It's expected here. You go out there and throw a ball, and these fans start to boo you. They don't want you to give up a hit or throw any balls, so you just have to throw strikes every pitch.'' ''I understand that they want to see your team win and go out there and try to do well for them, but everybody is going to have a bad day,'' said Buehrle, whose 52 quality starts since the start of the 2001 season are third-most in the American League. ''I've had three or four bad days this year. But I've put a string together, and a day like this happens and they boo you. ''I don't know if these fans don't understand baseball or what, but I'm going out there doing the best I can to try to give this team the best chance to win, and it just didn't happen today.'' Buehrle's losing streak matches one by Jim Parque during the 1999 season. He now has a 6.45 ERA over his last 12 starts compared to a 1.23 ERA in his first three starts when he opened the season 2-1. The left-hander saw his overall ERA rise to 5.18, and his 10 defeats are second in the major leagues to the Detroit Tigers' Mike Maroth, who has 11. Well Mark I do know your arbitration hearing should be interesting and I may not know s*** about baseball but I know you are the number one reason we are nowhere near competing in a horses*** division. Please excuse me for not appreciating your effort and letting you knwo about it.
  5. Valido is the stud shortstop we jsut drafted, correct? I thought he was bordering on unsignable?
  6. Sunday I see KW sitting in plain view for every pitch behind the plate. Then there are comments issued by Rick Hahn on the Rivera pick-up. Based on the other threads this looks like a decent move. Does anyone have any idea of who is calling the shots for this team. The next three weeks are huge in determining the future of this team with the likes of Colon and marketability or picking up players for a playoff run. Just wondering if the Management Team (JR and the boys,) realize this.
  7. No problem with that getting it on with another player, "not that there is anything wrong with that," could cause clubhouse dissention. Maybe there are things going on in the Padre clubhouse.....
  8. I just glanced at USA Today and it stated that the catcher we claimed from the Padres was the 12th pick overall in 2000 and was traded for 'Mean' Gene Kingsdale. Any word on what this guy may have to offer?
  9. That article is exactly right. McDowell is nowhere near managing but that style of managing is what he is talking about. Know your players and what they can and can not do and go with it. I have never seen Backman manager but I have seen him play and loved those late 80's Mets. This is the attitude and style we need. Manuel shoudl know that Thomas hits better when he plays the field and we make up for the loss in defense with a fierce bat but nope we keep the inept stylings of Paul Konerko.
  10. Dumb GMs trade the future. You have to try and see if the GM will bite, because if you don't do it, you'll never know. Smoltz for Doyle Alexander 2003??????
  11. The dude from Texas (he is a sophomore,) is awesome and will be a top five pick and probably go right to the bigs as a closer.
  12. He is lazy and pisses me off but I would be more concerned with Konerko, Crede, CF, SS, and middle relief (White/ Gordon,) rather than Jimenez. I think he will wake up one of these days. I like his approach to hitting. Hell, bring up Miles and DH Jimenez. We really need a centerfielder, anyone that can play any type of defense.
  13. Paulie is getting a leason in what it takes to be in the majors. Frank as Frank is one of the best in baseball, along with very few that can lead as hitters, not just home run hitters. 3-4 with 2 RBI and a homer 1-2 with 2 walks and a run scored Not 1-4 Homer, 2 RBI, 3 K's, 6 left on.
  14. Frank Thomas is the only guy we have that carry this team and one of the few in baseball. The last six games prove this. Paul Konerko's days are over at first as Thomas and Daubach are playing well. Daubach should be our DH, or Aaron Miles.
  15. Sure it cost us. Who lead off the ninth and who would've. Now what happens if this takes place three innings earlier. This is why we are not succeeding.
  16. That may account for the second half of last season but he had a good spring.
  17. It was both of them. I think the Japenese clubhouse guy got a shot as well.
  18. He is a piece of s***. It is late and I am tired but he is an asshole!!!!!!!!!
  19. We need a rep and Loiaza is the only other option, maybe Jimenez. Let's hope for Frank, he may get voted????? Wishful thinking, I know.
  20. I do not recall four better pitched games by Sox starters as the last four. Hell I don't recall two consecutive like the last four. It is a shame we have to hope for 2-2.
  21. So did Sammy. I guess he has to judge the distance differently with an uncorked bat. This has to lead off Sportscenter.
  22. Forgot the $30,000 left on the hotel counter. This is my favorite and a direct indication of his steroid problem, IMO.
  23. The biggest steroid one, the $30K left on the hotel desk in Costa Rica this was where I believe MLB covers things up, why was this not an issue.
  24. This team needs a CF that can actually play defense. When a hard hit ground ball up the middle rolls to the wall for a double, wea re in bad shape. If we didn't have four guys hitting like they have never played the game before I would agree he is useless but we have nothiing to lose. Joe Borchard is not a centerfielder neitehr is harris. If we are going to take this mindset, put Konerko at third. We need to do soemthing to change the make-up of this team. If I hear about f'ing chemistry again I am going to puke we sucka nd need something. Trade Colon and Konerko for Nick Johnson and Weaver, f***, do soemthing. Who si running this circus anyway, I have faith but it is waning.
