Don't take this the wrong way but I am more than excited to see Carl Everett then Anthony Webster. I understand that Webster may be the next so and so but he is in 'A' ball and when everything pans out he may not gets past 'AA.' In the grand scheme of things how many prospects actually make it to the majors (Lee, Rowand, Ordonez, Crede, Thomas, Buerhle, Wright,) this is more than most organizations. I would trade a position player almost any day in this situation but don't like to do so with pitching as injuries can impact the pitching of an organization. I think Reed and Anderson make this deal good/great for the Sox. Everett leads the Sox in RBI.

I'll take 30,000 waving fans as oppossed to 12,000 b****ing about 18,000 more not showing up. I think the wave shows that the crowd is energized and excited and not reading a magazine or chatting on the phone. The pitcher of Loiaza and Jimenez doing the wave was a tad funny as well. Go SOx.

19,857, I hope I am wrong but we have drawn about 200K in five days, that is amazing.

I think teh guys on the list are pitchers as follows Ginter, Wing, the dude they got for Loften, Meaux, and the guy they got for Alomar. I also have a feeling Borchard and Miles are on it.

I suppose Neil Cotts can be something but in exchange for Keith Foulke he is getting Everett and Koch. Valentine is no closer to the closers role than Jose Valentin. I would miss reading the Cotts AA line every couple of days but in the grand scheme of things replacing Rios and Jimenez with Alomar and Everett makes this trade worth it. How is Matt Guerrier doing?

Did you see Kariya is a free agent?

If we get Weaver he is our number four and we do not need to worry about signing Colon next year. Wright then solidifies our pen for the remainder of the season and we move Koch if possible. Next year Wright goes back into the rotation without a need for Colon. Weaver as our four or five gives us one of if not the best rotation in baseball.

What happens when Alomar is hurt in two weeks.
-
I meant the 'oldroman,' he was berating Buerhle to no end recently. Sorry.
-
Yes, abo, hes doing great today. Lets hope he can keep it up. Thought you wanted to trade him to St. Louis less than 72 hours ago?
-
He isn't really young, I see him as a Carlos Lee type and a good pick-up but nothing breath taking. For Colon he would be the guy to throw in over Rivera from the Yanks to make the deal.

I think the Sox may have to bite the bullet and eat some salary unless Paul really turns it around soon. It's about the only way those guys move anywhere around the league. Frank to 5 hole, Maggs to 3, and then must find a 4 hole hitter...Crede eventually in a few years? Borchard? Well I'm fairly confident the Sox will do the BoSox deal and I can only hope they are smart enough to get Nixon, who I'd be tempted to put in the 3 hole with Maggs in the 4. But having Nixon in the 2 hole and picking up a cleanup guy would be nice too. Heck, if Sox were serious, they'd make some trades this year, and make a run at Tejada. There are other ways to accomplish these things though. All I know is the Sox can't continue to go with a one dimensional team. Lee, and Konerko or one of them and Thomas has to be gone. Thomas is the best of the bunch, so he should stay. Of course I have no problem with Lee on first and somewhere in the back of the lineup. As long as two of them are gone for something, I'm happy. Carlos also probably has the best trade value, although Franks may not be too bad now that he's heated up. I always thought Nixon was an overhyped player in the mold of Troy O'Leary. I could be wrong but I felt he would be a throw in for a deal to sweeten but not make it. Have you got numbers handy on him?

What's the status of the game I am pretty superstitious with the Sox and this is killing me?
-
Put Konerko's drive and intensity in him and....... I don't know it should be simple for him to be something big, I just don't get it.
-
I just can't like or hate Jimenez, this guy is driving me nuts. I think he could be a poor man's Robbie Alomar if he got his head out of his ass.
-
For a change of pace and luck as I opened to this before the reel player I will be using this as my update for the game. Don't f*** around and now tell me it is 1-0 Twins after 1. Go Sox.

Friday and Sunday. Still looking for the Detroit Red Wing Bob Corkum jersey but time is running out.

Last night they went into a discussion if the Phillies were going to catch the Braves. I suppose our division is so bad they choose not to even cover it, oh well, I guess to a degree you can't blame them.

I would try and package Konerko and Koch for a major league hitter and some bullpen help. We need one guy that can handle the bat to move men along, bunt and make a pitcher work. Something Spaceman Jimenez was suppossed to be able to do. He proved last evening that his slide is beginning and may not stop any time soon.

Remember Saturday's game when Buerhle almost beat out the infield single? He gave up three straight hits and gave the cub the momentum in the bottom of the inning. A pitcher trying to leg out an infield single isn't all that bright. Especially for a guy that is second in the A.L. in IP's and fifth in strike-outs. Oh wait he doesn't talk nice to everyone.

I would love to get Weaver for any two guys we have in our pen right now. Koch would be awesome to give.
-
I'll be sporting this shirt with my dangling cork earings Friday. The shirt a guy made says Sosa Sucks Cork with the Cork in the 'Big' C cub logo.

I think the mindset of this team right now is to relax a little and say things that appear to be lax. They showed a hell of a-lot of fire. I felt Colon struggled all day long and he still had a shutout through seven. I think since Arizona this team has come together. I do feel Jimenez may be going somewhere (AAA?) soon if he does not get hot. They appear to be playing this off as being scared as the Twins deal through their in-house s***. We do not need to fire them up as this has blown up in our face for two years. I am thinking that JM is up to some behind the scene maneuvering that these guys are buying into. Where is Gary Glover?

I did broadcasting in college. I can appreciate a good announcer. Steve Stone has carried that booth through 2 generations of HORRIBLE Carrey's. The guy knows his stuff, and really does do a good job. He would be a good balance to Hawk and his golf stories. FORE!!!!! I love it when you analyze.

If Farnsworth Throws at Frank Thomas ...
Harry Chappas replied to cortisonshot's topic in Pale Hose Talk
When a player is suspended he cannot be replaced on the roster correct? Well I think Kyle's ass kicking is going to look real bad to Bob Watson. If he gets 10 games, not too far fetched although I didn't see the whole game, this puts the cub in quite a hole for the 10 games especially in the NL. My thing if I was a hitter would be to let the bat "slip" my next at-bat if I knew the guy was throwing at me.
