QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) 24-13 in our last 37 home games. Yeah, we have really turned it around at home. Too bad our fortunes have reversed themselves on the road as well. I remember as of the ASB, we were actually a pretty solid road team. Of course, trips to Boston, NY, Detroit, and several to Minnesota will do that...

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 02:42 PM) How bout this one: He makes a helluva lot of money and has security and no real motivation to excel. The not playing every day is a pretty lame excuse for a guy brought in to help us win a (s***ty) division. He contributed nothing, zip. I will say he does look good in a uniform and I am hoping for the best next spring when he obtains a new clean slate in my mind (until he proves he can or cannot cut it on the south side). This year however he has to be considered one of the team's biggest disappointments/flops. How many times are you going to blame Rios for the White Sox failing to win this division? It's quite like a broken record... I'll be the first to admit that Rios has sucked, but he certainly hasn't been alone out there.

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 07:17 PM) 1. Go to Comerica Park with a large cauldron. 2. Add the following ingredients to the cauldron: 3 toads feet 1 cup shredded leather from Brandon Inge's glove from the 2006 World Series 1 brick from the old Tiger Stadium 25 Bobby Higginson rookie cards 1 pint of Dontrelle Willis blood 1 oz. Jair Jurrjens pubic hair (good luck shaving those balls, you'll need a f***ing weedwhacker) 25 newspapers with references to Rob Deer being a good hitter 3 oz. Gary Sheffield urine 3. Kill 3 Detroit-area crackheads, drain their blood, and add this to the soup. 4. Bring to a rolling boil, then simmer for 25 minutes. 5. Steal a game-used hat from Allan Trammell's house from his managing career, then use the hat to scoop out the liquid, forming a large circle in the parking lot outside of Comerica Park. 6. Inside this circle, light Neifi Perez on fire. Just let him burn for a while. 7. After Neifi is nice and charred, but still wiggling around in the fetal position, scoop three more hatfuls out of the cauldron and toss them at Neifi to put out the fire. 8. Turn to the East, then chant three times: This is what you get you f***ers! This is what you get you f***ers! This is what you get you f***ers! And that should about do it. Expect a 15 game losing streak to begin immediately. Caution: casting this spell most likely leads to the 2009 AL Central Champion Minnesota Twins. This is what I like to see! Now who is willing to pull this off for us? -

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 07:40 PM) I live in Eastern Europe. I will "lay seed" in my new 19 yr old Ukrainian GF (I am 37) and deal with the consequences.... I think that's kinda reckless but well worth 20 wins in a row Hmm, doesn't she have a choice in this matter? I admire your devotion, but probably something to think twice or even three times about... :begood

Ugh....the Tigers have the mojo going down the stretch this season like they did in 2006... DIE KITTIES, DIE! -
QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) i really like kotsay, hope we see a lot of him the rest of this year and next In the broadcast today, Ken Rosenthal mentioned that Ozzie has already spoken to Kenny Williams and told him he wants Kotsay back next year.

3-run bomb for Evan Almighty and the Rays take a 4-1 lead in the first!

Now we become big James Shields fans...

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 03:56 PM) I think that could have been a hit and run. Hit and runs against Wakefield aren't a good idea. You might as well do a straight steal. Don't you think Konerko would have at least swung if it was a hit and run? I think he just went on his own.
-
Yeah, but remember it is on Wakefield and Martinez. I'm sure he went on his own.

QUOTE (qwerty @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 03:44 PM) In general steve phillips is about as bad as it gets... and that is way before accounting these articles. http://vegaswatch.net/2007/09/evaluating-a...redictions.html http://vegaswatch.net/2008/09/evaluating-a...tions-2008.html Honestly, I don't think it's fair to judge the guy's predictions versus Pecota. He is not paid to be a statistical model. He is paid to give his own particularly interesting opinions and predictions about teams. Does Pecota suck then because it was way off in predicting the White Sox?

Jimmy had a nice single into the right-field gap today in his first at-bat for the Dodgers. Got a really nice hand from the Dodger faithful.

QUOTE (IamPabloOzuna @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 11:59 PM) enjoy! Hah, thanks for that. That is one of the funniest things I have ever heard, especially since I saw and heard it live the first time... I swear, she couldn't have been more excited had Jesus Christ been in "George's box."

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 5, 2009 -> 12:41 AM) Their's a fairly significant disparity in numbers between the two that suggests that Nix is very much the better player, and by a wide margin. This is not to take anything away from what Getz did tonight. He looked very impressive out there. There is when Nix faces lefties, yes. The problem is, it would be difficult to ever make Nix a full-time starter because his numbers are so much different when facing righties. I love Nix as much as anyone, but he is one player against lefties, and an entirely different one against righties. Meanwhile, Getz, who isn't at all amazing himself, has particular skills which standout because of their relative absence on this team. I was all for Nix getting a full-time chance, and he just did. Did anyone walk away from the last three weeks thinking "Wow, Nix deserves a full-time gig?"

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) Um, ok. I guess the Sox could go 22-4. Honestly, that's the kind of run we're going to need. If we went 22-4, the Tigers would still only have to go 16-12 to tie us. If we go 18-8, they only have to go 12-16. So no, I'm not going to worry about the Tigers too much at this point. If we reel off 8 in a row, yeah, then maybe I will start worrying about the Tigers. Until then, it doesn't matter. We're not winning the division.
-
Yeah, he is pretty good. I like the Seattle crew. A lot of people consider them to be on the dull side, but the man you are talking about does a very solid job. Has a nice voice and really knows his stuff.
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) Yeah, time is running out on the Sox. The Tigers are playing good ball. They definitely could get to 88-90 wins. We don't even need to worry about the Tigers. Just keep winning games and things will take care of themselves.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 4, 2009 -> 08:12 PM) I listen to alot of the other team's announcers on my XM, and you can hate of chicago guys all you want, most of the other teams radio guys blow chunks. And the lady for the Yankmees makes me want to pull my haor out. She may know baseball, but her voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. And they are ALL homers. Hah, she is brutal. Have you heard the clip of her when Roger Clemens came back to the Yankees the second time? Oh my....
