It’s never as bad as it seems during the bad times and never as good as it seems during the good times. This is still a good team, they’re just not great yet. Despite this recent bad stretch, there’s still a chance to make a deep playoff run.

It’s situations like that where the only guys I want hitting are Abreu or Madrigal.

Our public grade school is back in hybrid model as of last week. Two groups of kids, group A attends in-person Monday and Tuesday while group B attends in-person Thursday and Friday. Going well so far. My sister works for an adjacent grade school and I guess they are finally preparing for hybrid as well. Apparently the parents were quite irate at the last school board meeting and made it quite clear that they were displeased with all remote.

Based on what metric this season? And why is Edwin playing over McCann? That’s the biggest question. Despite the occasional home run, not a fan of DHing a guy with an OPS of sub 700.

And yet Jimmy has been the better framer this season.

Smoak had one good season, outside of that he’s sucked. It’s really that simple. I don’t care what his fWAR was the previous three seasons.

@Balta1701 A classic case where someone overvalues fWAR when comparing players. I remember this debate well and I couldn’t believe a Sox fan would argue Justin Smoak was comparable to Jose Abreu. How’s that working out?
