    Any thespians?

    Just wondering Stories, roles, high school, college, community, broadway?
  3. I'm not certain why we're discussing self defense, Texas Law allows you to defend your property. That's why our crime rate is so much lower. Break into the home and you could get shot. I'm certain after these guys were killed, no one will be breaking into homes in Texas. The death penalty was served.
  4. Most organizations I've been in the males dressed for their position, which becomes more conservative as you become promoted. The females also. Cynic says: Let's promote her before she sues us for harrassment. Optimist says: They are grooming her for the promotion and really care abuot her success. Time will tell.
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 01:39 PM) Damn, Tex ... I did already admit to fact the I misread his remarks. I thought he was saying that I said something sexist and owned up to the fact that I screwed up. What more do you want? I was reading in order and thought that was the last post, I didn't see the rest of the thread until after I posted. I thought I deleted it before anyone saw it. Sorry.
  6. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 02:47 PM) Obama may not have the experience yet, and he may not win... but I have to say, I've liked him more and more as the campaign has gone on. He screws up here and there like everyone else, but, he looks to me like a real, actual future statesman. And I think he's got a more positive and more cooperative approach than most anyone in the race. I'n starting to like what I see. I think I would like a McCain - Obama choice.
  7. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 17, 2007 -> 07:04 AM) And what normal adult male uses the nickname Cookie anyway? That is in a different thread regarding Iran

    QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 06:33 PM) I wouldn't read anything into that. I'm not accusing anyone of making that leap of faith right now... but one of the things I enjoy about being American is my freedom, and that includes freedom to travel. Having a big wall on our land borders would make it really really easy for some rogue administration to just shut the borders down. That's ok, as long as the NRA protects our right to arms we can blast our way past Nuke. All the Soviets had to tell the citizens of Berlin is the wall is here to keep too many immigrants from arriving and stealing your jobs. Spin that bad wall into a good wall.
  9. Bottom line is some people's warped sense of morality is based on what is proven in a court of law, or based on how many other people do it. They can ignore, or even actively make up a fantasy reality, of he really didn't do the drugs if it can't be proven in a court of law or if a thousand other guys should have been prosecuted first. Barry would have to be among the stupidest people on this planet if he never questioned why is head and other body parts were getting so big. He clearly knew the rules of baseball and should be held responsible for not following them. Any below average intelligence person would wake up one day and say "hey, why my noggin' swellin'?" and visit a Doctor. What a sad day when people will make up excuses for the cheater and lier. I'd make a political comparison now, but then we'd have to move this to the 'buster. You can try and make a thousand excuses for Barry, and then you will need a thousand and one. And then he'll write "My Prison Without Bars II", and his fans will moan and gnash their teeth in pain.
  10. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 03:46 PM) Thanksgiving dinner is going to be a w k w a r d at the Krongard dinner table. . . Not any more awkward than at the Carville-Matalin household.
  11. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) Inexplicably in the mood for some Pink Floyd now. I was just thinking how much fun LPs were when you could flip them over and listen to the other side.

    The Wall

    QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 12:58 PM) That's similar to what I have suggested before. The wall itself, really, is not only pointless and unnecessary, it also makes the country look awful, costs a metric f*** ton to build and maintain, and would create all sorts of environmental problems. So, how about we do something a lot cheaper and a lot more effective? A "virtual" wall of cameras, FLIR and other detection equipment... monitored by surveillance teams... backed by mobile teams of combined Border Patrol and military units who move in to make the stop. And a guest worker program, tied to jobs, that satisfies the needs of American business and industry.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 12:59 PM) That was necessary. :rolleyes You are correct. Sorry.
  14. I'm shocked this is in Texas. But it will stop people from breaking into houses. Swift justice and all.
  15. I wonder if this was MLB, and not the United States of America, going after players, which end they would have started, if they would have started at all. Even Bonds rejects the I cheated because everyone else did defense. He had a chance to come clean, and didn't. Clearly he knew he was using. Clearly he was the greatest player to use.
  16. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 12:50 PM) It's not quite that. I can't put my finger on it. And of course no one else can smell it. As you have no doubt noticed all your senses are heightened. You may try a dehumidifier. You could also call out a mold remediation company like Service Master or Serv Pro. We have seen plenty of this in Texas. Good news is your home owners policy probably covers it.
  17. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 12:40 PM) Yes. the CIA should stay out of that crap too. As far as trade goes, isn't that just financial dealings? We shouldn't negotiate on a financial basis with other nations? We shouldn't fund campaigns in other countries based on trade policies. We have done this privately and publicly. The US meddles in foreign campaigns more than any other country, mostly because we have the resources to. Earlier someone criticized a US candidate for not knowing about health care in Cuba and his opinion. We'll ask our leaders how will the elections in XYZ country effect relationships between them and the US, which candidate is pro-US, etc. Yet when it is in reverse, that a foreign leader is asked about US elections, which will effect the entire world, the foreign leader should not have an opinion?

    QUOTE(NUKE @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) One way to stop drug smuggling quickly is to simply execute anyone caught smuggling narcotics on the spot. If they know they will be killed for their trouble if caught they will abandon their efforts in a big hurry. I see you are picking up some ideas from Iraq. Excellent. I believe this was Saddam's method.
  19. When the feds give you immunity if you tell the truth, and then you lie, that reaches farther than just baseball. Remember this is a real world case, not something that baseball is doing. They gave him immunity, yet he still lied. Nice character. Yet, to some people, he is their hero. Sad.
  20. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 11:43 PM) Texsox, I dont care that he used steroids because I believe many other MLB players used steroids at the same time and you can only compare Bonds to the players of his era. Then why publish a rules book? Nice ethics. I suppose you follow that creed in your own life? Cheat any chance you get? That is so sad.
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 09:44 AM) I find it odd that the leader of another nation should have any say so about our nations immigration policies and discussion of those policies among our candidates. Which is why I always protested the CIA getting involved in elections around the world. Or we would press foreign countries for more favorable trade policies.

    I hope we can provide a way for the farmers and ranchers to get to the river for their irrigation. Thousands of farms depend on their irrigation pumps for their livelihood. It will also likely kill many animals who also depend on the river for drinking water. It's funny, we build that same fence to keep in a thousand inmates, add guards at a 10:1 ration, and yet they still escape. I guess this fence is better. It will probably stop the drug smuggling also. I'm certain all the street drugs through Mexico will dry up in no time, which is a boom to both sides.
  23. Oh the weather up north is frightful In Texas, it's so delightful As long as I'm way down here Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!
  24. Sent from a friend of mine Yesterday I was buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for Athena the wonder dog at Wal-Mart and was about to check out.[/color] A woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had, an elephant? So since I'm retired, with little to do, on impulse, I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, and that I was starting the Purina Diet again. I said I probably shouldn't, because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story.) Horrified , she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no; I stepped off a curb to sniff an Irish Setter's butt and a car hit us both. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack, he was laughing so hard! WAL-MART won't let me shop there anymore!!!

    QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 07:10 AM) Except thiers was to keep people in. I am glad you believe in such openness. Why don't you also remove the front door to your house as well. And leave your car unlocked. After all, we wouldn't want to be stopping people from going where they aren't supposed to. What's the difference? How go you construct a fence that only stops people one way? Do not forget to stop tourists and students from coming here as well.
