  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) So you guys can vouch for the site's legitimacy? I'm sort of worried about getting ripped off. I've bought a few things from them and all transactions have been perfect. The shipping may kill you on cheap items, so watch for that. I picked up a certain brand of hiking socks I like at about 75% off, but with shipping, it would not have made sense to only buy one or two pairs.
  2. McCain not happy with the biased liberal media hack job
  3. You are correct, I was being too optimistic. I think the delta between the worst days in a major US city, and the best days in many Iraq cities, are pretty close. But averaging over a week or month and I am wrong.
  4. Sadly, I think a lot of people that will point to the character flaws would be attacked as religious whack jobs. I have done my best to separate her actions from her husbands. I truly believe she would not take a backseat to him, and would be her own person as president. But looking at the kinds of problems with her campaign, and the questionable ethics, I have to say no thanks to her.
  5. Here is one crazy little circle we have going, and why this is going to be ugly for a long time. We're losing this war, let's get the hell out and let the chips fall where they may. We're winning this war, hurray let's get out. Mission Accomplished. We're losing this war, we need to stay the course and get the job done. We're winning this war with the surge, we need to stay the course and get the job done. If someone is of the opinion we should leave, it doesn't matter if we are winning or lose, and same for staying. Plus, we have no way to knowing what an acceptable level of violence is for Iraq. It's like we're starting with the street crime in Washington D.C. and trying to turn it into Andy Griffin's Mayberry. It ain't going to happen. That is an impossible reduction of violence. If we reported gang crime in NY, LA, Houston, or Chicago like the Iraq War, many days it will look pretty similar.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 08:36 AM) Yet another reason why Rudy does not need to win the nomination. Its like electing another Clinton with all of the personal problems and scandals bubbling under the surface, to go along with the shifting morals and platforms. Please no. I honestly would not vote in a Rudy v. Hillary contest. I'm taking character pretty seriously this go around, which is why I'm sitting on McCain right now.

Nice way to rasie money. I hope Macey's, Apple, and the other advertisers are solidly behind this.

Seriously, I wonder how many illegals would have actually went and got one. There would be a risk for either course of action. Personally, I never liked the idea. Stuff like this diverts attention away from real solutions. We need a guest worker program, tied to job creation, and then stuff like drivers licenses are not even an issue.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 01:09 PM) I like their coach's attitude toward it. Both coaches had excellent attitudes, and it was 11 on 11. I was a little uncertain about taking a knee at the 5 when you could have scored a touchdown. That seemed a little cheesy. But the usual things a coach will do to not run up the score, lineups and play callings were already done.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 11:57 PM) Illegal Lebanese Woman worked for CIA and FBI Very very dumb Thank god illegal immigrants are here just to find work. . Thank God that natural born Americans have never been convicted of spying for foreign governments. This will be an interesting trick

QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 02:24 PM) I know this much. If it wasn't for meat, my father's family would have starved in the 30's (Dad was born in '33) ... He, as a lad, learned the importance of not taking his shot until he knew that shotgun shell would put meat on the table. Rabbit, squirrel, quail ... whatever ... he had to make sure of his shot. And yes, at 5 or 6 years old he was putting meat on the table. I'll bet you and your dad had a lot of great conversations.
  13. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 05:51 PM) Better team: 85 Bears Better season: 85 Bears Better remembered: 72 Dolphins Better team: 85 Bears (86 Bears Defense was better btw) Better season: 72 Dolphins Better remembered: 72 Dolphins Better Overall History: Cowboys I would also factor in the pressure each of staying undefeated. Every team down the stretch wanted to be "the team" there was the media circus, etc. I think the Bears may have benefited from not having to deal with that.
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 05:40 PM) "That's an excellent question" "I respect Senator Clinton, I respect anyone that gets the nomination of the Democrat Party."
  15. I guess I should say I value Beowulf so far down the list of great books that Bugs Bunny in the lead role would have been a better movie than book.
  16. At least they weren't assholes and left the pet behind
  17. Do we have fans of the book here?
  18. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 03:35 PM) Wasn't Coleman always regarded as a bit of a "loon"? He was zany when zany was in. Happy News Time. Upbeat and all that. He would even stand on his head.
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 02:39 PM) This IS the guy who started the Weather Channel. Just a side note. He was the first GM, but it seems he was never more than an employee. Landmark actually founded the station. Coleman was out in less than a year.
  20. We do realize that weathermen do not study long term climate change? Just making certain we're all on the same page. And I'm not even certain he is a meteorologist. So the debate goes on, and an aged personality, now reduced to an independent tv station in California, get one last drink from the Fame Chalice

  23. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) Well played. King of Beers my curvy pink butt. FlaSoxxJim in Prince of Tides II: The King of Beers couldn't resist
  24. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 02:57 PM) Maybe we disagree here because I saw the film before I read the book. A great book like Catch-22 almost defies adaptation, but I felt like the film did a good job with it. It's been a while. Maybe I should refresh my memory. Perhaps you were watching the movie version of M*A*S*H Two movies coming out from books that I am waiting to see, and my predictions: I Am Legend is in my favorite Top 10 list of all time. It will suck as a movie to the fans of the book. Although I love the irony of Will Smith in the title role. Beowulf the movie will be waaaay better then the book. The book is only a classic because it is the oldest surviving story in Old English.
  25. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 01:29 PM) I think a lot of these films would be worthy of assigning in a film appreciation class. But, then again, you just know some of the students would cheat and be lazy and just read the books instead of actually watching the movies . . . I Kid Tex Because I Care® well played. Nice to see the old man still has it. Of course they would have to toss in some porn to "challenge" the students. I Kid Jim Because I Care®
