  1. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 04:18 PM) The truth is that this is a decision that should be made by the patient or the patient's family with the input and assistance of their physicians providing treatment. Nobody else should get that decision. Who exactly is the patient's family? Estranged spouse? Parents? Children? Who mediates?
  2. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 02:51 PM) Nice Hey Kap, the server is slow again, would you go fix it for us? And the baby needs changing,
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) I don't see how in the world he would get served papers in the clubhouse. They wouldn't let Carlton Fisk in the clubhouse during the 1993 playoffs. No way they'd let a process server in. I don't buy it. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 11:03 PM) Process servers are legal like supeonas and most likely would be allowed to enter the clubhouse. Fisk was released in the summer of 93 and showed up to the playoffs and they wouldn't let him in the clubhouse. She would not, as a matter of normal business, have a say in when the paper was served. If he wasn't living at their home, or if for some reason the home was impossible to enter, then being served at work would happen. Servers do not want to be chasing people all over the place. I have also heard where the two attorney's will get together and arrange for the paper to be served. I won't take sides, being a spouse of someone who travels extensively and who has women tossing themselves at his feet, must be very stressful. It seems that more athletes are less than wonderful husbands.

QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 12:40 PM) Are we not doing YNOT this year....i always thought it was fun. It became too much record keeping and stress.
  5. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 02:37 PM) yea, just what I need. I got too many letters behind my name, and most of them are cuss letters. IMPEACH THE DEAN OF THAT COLLEGE!!! IT'S BUSH'S FAULT!!!
  6. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) You have got to be joking. LESS advisors and handlers? This administration may have been a lot better if Bush and his 2 or 3 closest allies had ever bothered to get expert advice from ANYONE. Ever. This has been a Presidency that has clearly, even proudly, stated that the President makes his decisions "from his gut", and the man actually thinks that getting input from those who might not agree is a sign of weakness. Here is a challenge for anyone on this board - show me any single thing this President has done since about 1/1/03 that has been positive. Any law he's gotten passed, any executive order that ended in a positive, any well-handled international relations, anything. That's a 4 year period, and I am struggling to find even one positive thing he has done, against a whole plethora of negatives. Even Carter's 4 years were better than that. And before the inevitable non-answers come out, I am not asking about what he HASN'T done, nor am I asking who might or might not have done better. I'm simply asking, what positives has he accomplished in the last 4 years? I think those two closest allies you mention hurt him, he'd have been better on his own. He started out great and sunk from there. I believe there are times in history where you just have to grab on and keep riding the storm out. He is leading in an unprecedented time and while there are not a lot to build a legacy on, I'm not certain he hasn't done as well as anyone could have.
  7. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 02:05 PM) Isn't it a common injury among football players that they can play through? Not certain with football players, but it's the first time I can remember a baseball player sidelined. I'm just offering a theoretical counter to Balta's comment. I will say if Frank played is career for the Cubs, Twins, Indians, Yankees, Red Sox, or A's tongues would wag here.
  8. I applaud the man for the meeting and hold out that his statement was an opening negotiating point. He has demonstrated the courage to follow his heart in other matters that finds himself surrounded by Dems (immigration). I believe his Presidency would have been better if it was more Dubya and less advisors and handlers.
  9. While no choice is perfect, I think the final decision should come through our legal system with input from the family and Doctors.

Lights Out, Lidge That shot by Pujols was awesome. I've seen Frank really nail some, but that was enormous. And would keep any pitcher up at night.
  11. It would be a very sad day if it was proven that Frank had taken a steroid. Balta makes a great case, but if I was prosecuting I would point to a couple unique injuries. Who actually tears a bicep?
  12. Thank You, Tex
  13. Linked Earlier the family faced this . . . They received a repreave from Texas lawmakers. So who decides if someone should live or die? Lawmakers? Judges? Doctors? Family? Some combination?
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 08:42 PM) It is a slang term. The most common definition would probably be wimp. So 'f**' meaning wuss or wimp used as verb. "To show timidity or cowardice; chicken out." (from dictionary.com) You always f** out on me. You always 'wuss' out on me. You always 'wimp' out on me. You always 'chicken out' on me. Seems about right to me. So then homosexual = wuss, wimp, chicken out, etc? Again, it doesn't make sense to me, but I guess I am old

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) That's odd that everyone is mentioning the difficulties with the wireless internet connection. For me, it was pretty damn easy. Much easier, in fact, than what I had to go through with my sister's computer which runs XP. As far as drivers, I only had to download 1 from a 3rd party, that being my HP printer. Everything else, from speakers, externals hard drive, external burner, and wireless PCI card have all been a snap. Even my iPod and iTunes was easy. Maybe I'm just lucky... That's been my experience. The only problem I've been having is with Firefox and Windows Media Player and CNN video.

  17. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) First off, that courtesy runner cannot enter the game during that half inning. If he enters the game later on they can use a different courtesy runner, using the same original rules. By half inning I assume that means he can not be used as a pitch batter.
  18. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 11:06 PM) It seems the defenders of the Goracle go for the intellectual insults rather that the lowbrow ones when confronting those that dare expose the Goracle to the light. NOT. http://www.shns.com/shns/g_index2.cfm?acti...URDOCK-04-05-07 Ironic isn't it

QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 08:58 AM) Next hipster beer: Hamm's. Book it. It was Stroh's pounders for a while when I was in college. Returnable bottles.
  20. Impossible to read that without thinking of M*A*S*H. I love that book. I am reading Arthur Ransoms' Swallows and Amazons, my Sailing Director recomended it so that I would have an idea of his inspirations for the program he will be running for me this summer. So far very cool.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 08:29 AM) I just find it funny that they've managed to try to copy Mac OS but still came up short. Since both companies are designing for the same human form, there should be similarities. I like it. There is a learning curve.
  22. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 08:54 PM) When did they do the league wide retirement of 42 anyway? 1997 50th Anniversary.
  23. "IN GREEN ZONE, SCOUTINGS MERITS REBUILDING" BAGHDAD: Karar Smilee has a friend in Canada. The 12-year-old Iraqui boy doesn't know his friend's name and hasn't seen his face, but he's a friend, nonetheless, Krar said. "I met him on the Internet. I like the Internet," he said Thursday after receiving a patch for his participation in the Internet jamboree in October along with other Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from around the world. U.S. forces and Iraqis are working to rebuild the once robust Scouting organization in Iraq, starting with a group of elementary puplis in the heavily protected Green Zone of Baghdad. "The Iraqis are going through a very difficult time and want to see the light at the end of the tunnel," said Nima Motashar, president of the Green Zone Council of Iraqi Scouts. "There are more than 6 million students in Iraqi. We know how active kids can be, so we are trying to teach them first, Scout values," from being trustworthy to friendly, brave, clean and loyal to Iraq and not to its sects, he said. "Second, we neeed to keep these kids away from troubles and teach them some good things for their future during their summer holiday through Scout camps," Motashar said. "So our objective is that to build a free and secure nation, we need to put the future generation onto the right track." Iraq once was a leader in Middle Eastern Scouting, U.S. officials said. An orginization was created in 1921 by British military personnel stationed here, and Iraqi Scouts became members of the World Organization of the Scout Movement and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1922. Under former President Saddam Hussein, the program faltered and eventually disappeared. It was resurrected in 2004 under the old Coalition Provisional Authority. The Green Zone Council of Iraqi Scouts is branching out to all of Iraq's 18 provinces and working to regain admission into the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 08:46 PM) I understand if you live in a small market and want to hear some sports talk he might be your only option. I get that. I just don't see why anyone would choose to listen to him with much better shows out there. There's just nothing appealing about him or the s*** that comes out of his mouth. That's my take anyway. A lot of people enjoy his show. But I can see why some people don't like him.
