Generalisimo Chavez...again
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 03:26 AM) Oh. I've b****ed about it. I just haven't received much support. If we are keeping score, I am 100% behind YASNY on this. Perhaps I'm biased from living on the border, but this stuff isn't even good satire.

More trouble for Tom Delay.
The campaign hasn't really started, once the campaign heats up, and the Hammer comes out, they will fall by the wayside. No way a Dem gets elected in Sugarland. The anti-DeLay vote will get split and Terrific Tom the Exterminator is back in Washington. And this time, he's pissed. This will be the Dems worse nightmare.

Greatest Movie Tough Guy Poll
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:03 AM) Are you kidding me?!?! Al Pacino a tough guy?! He didn't get into 1 fistfight. NOT ONE!!!! Marlon Brando was just a fat b****, nothing more. Pacino is so tough no one will take him on. Nathan Lane. Nice. I know is this a single entry contest, but as a group, the 3 Amigos handled bidness pretty damn well.

Jail beating
QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 14, 2006 -> 12:21 PM) I know I'm being a "dreamer" or whatever, but I still find myself wishing for the day when anyone beating anyone would cause outrage in people. This world is so f***ed up. I know I'm being a "dreamer" or whatever, but I still find myself wishing for the day when no one is beating anyone.

Crede News
QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 10:25 AM) The Sox have proven to be better off for being leery of the 'currency-driven, single-mindedness' of 'Boras/client' entities. Thank God some players feel that top dollar is only important and not the be-all, end-all. I guess you missed the playoffs and World Series, I thought one of his clients played pretty damn good for the Sox. If Konerko plays like Ross Gload the next few seasons, the contract sucks, if he plays like Vlade, it was a great contract. Tell me the influence his agent will have?

Quoting a new Year
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. -Joseph Goebels, (1897-1945) Hitler's Minister of Propaganda QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. -Joseph Goebels, (1897-1945) Hitler's Minister of Propaganda QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. -Joseph Goebels, (1897-1945) Hitler's Minister of Propaganda QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 02:26 PM) I guess it shouldn't surprise me that you keep quoting a Nazi, should it?

Say one thing about the poster before you
QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Jan 14, 2006 -> 11:33 AM) Thinks random thoughts. I'm guessing that Leonard Zelig is a Woody Allen fan, or at least a fan of quirky movies.

Why are jobs headed overseas?
Reagan was the master at this. We have such a huge tolerance for debt. I believe when our society collapses, and all societies have throughout history, it will be from within and it will be largly because of our huge debt.

Howard's First Day on Sirius
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 11:58 AM) You don't get mad if people attack the Sox? See, it could be different for you. Here, I have to deal with Cub fan friends, co-workers, etc. And we all know that gets heated. Why? Because it is usually taken personally. Should it be? Probably not. Show me an attack? He might be back on terrestrial radio is an attack? That he will have find a way to keep the audience that will tune in to hear what others are talking about? That's not an attack. I mentioned he had talent beyond just pushing envelopes, and would have to really develop that more. I mentioned he has the greatest marketing in radio. I'm failing to see an attack.

Howard's First Day on Sirius
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) You also have a biased opinion, since you work in radio...or so someone said. not saying what you said was wrong or whatever. Sirius isn't only about Stern...its about all the great programming they have. I'm sorry, but the radio here in Chicago sucks. The rock channels are horrible, except maybe the Loop. With Sirius, I have 20 choices. *blowing howard and sirius again* I just think people who can afford it, find it awesome. Its not about the F-word...and all that. All opinions are biased. Sirius and XM will each create unique or niche programming that may or may not attract a given market segement. They both will do well. I think there bigger market is not around the big cities but in small markets like this that has 1 rock station, 1 easy listening, etc.

Howard's First Day on Sirius
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 11:49 AM) Not necessary, I realize how you read it and a correction was needed. And as much as people think I'm blowing Stern...is as much as I am sticking up for myself. Just like I do when people knock my White Sox...or other things I like, I feel attacked. Not that I am being attacked...but I can feel that way. And that is my biggest point, you can't seperate Howard from yourself. This is his greatest talent. It is his listeners vs. the world. Brilliant. greatest.radio.marketing.ever I truly am impressed by what he has done to create that.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) I found it amazing that so many people took his online ramblings to heart as much as they did. Seriously, who did he REALLY hurt? He gathered enemies at an amazing rate. I will accept Steff's word that there was more and that would tip the scales. I thought he needed counseling. I too, am amazed that anyone would believe him. He was caught in so many lies. The closest thing to an insider I've ever believed has been Steff. She has been 100% accurate.

Howard's First Day on Sirius
QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) Out of f***ing line. Thanks Steff. Despite how it was written, I agree with him to a point. Stern is bad for kids, I'm glad that Tony realizes it. However, I was refering to terrestrial radio. BTW, does Sirius come with any parental controls or ways to block the signal?

Howard's First Day on Sirius
QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 11:30 AM) There's a timely reference. showing how far back this goes. The early days of radio had some of the same taboos. Photography went the same path. You can connect the dots far back. Howard is standing on the shoulders of many people before him. Pushing the envelope is easy, Howard has talent beyond just pushing the envelope, now he will have to develop it more. People will tune in for a while because of the buzz, to hear his real show, to hear what he couldn't say before, etc. His challenge will be to keep those listeners who are tuning in for perhaps the first time. Just like the Sox will be working overtime to keep those new fans that have just found out there are two teams in Chicago.
