Columbia House 11/$.01 I believe Chicago's Greatest Hits was in the mix. BTW, stiffing them on an album didn't prevent me, years later, from buying a house.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 11:44 AM) No longer has the hottest sister on the board. I think Head really, really likes this thread. We may need to change his screen name to BigHead22.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 11:49 AM) I don't think doing an impersonation of someone with a foreign accent is the same as using a racial slur. I guess it could be if it was being done in a malicious way...but I really don't think that is what is going on here. First off I applaud YASNY for standing up for what he believes is right even if there hasn't been a lot of support or people thinking it's a big problem. I agree with genious that many times the parody isn't a racial slur, but I still think it is wrong. I would like tosee the site that anyone from the Sox organization could come to and feel welcome. I would like to see the site welcoming every Sox fan, regardless of primary language. I believe some of the "impersonations" step over a line. The best way I can describe it is this feels more like a blackface ruitine during segregation, than a tribute.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 11:00 AM) It will be interesting to see if this is a PETA ploy. They like to stir s*** up in the european tabloids, because that stuff is all printed as fact and people seem to believe it more. IF all that stuff is true, I dont know why the Vet's lawyer would deny it and say he is still treating the animals. My guess is the vet wants to get paid and doesn't want to say he is ignoring the animals. That probably would not be good for business.

Excellent points one and all. I think the business of politics and getting re-elected is more on their minds that governing.

I'm glad she's back for another go, but this is clearly a phasing out. I wonder when she will be eligible for the HoF. Can her "number" be retired.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 10:25 AM) I don't think they SHOULD be in the military. A new branch of domestic service should be started. OK. Like a Mormon mission? I think idiots like this need more than a national service corp that will take care of them for a couple years.

Notice another Texas Republican turned independent to avoid running in the primary against a machine candidate. The GOP is not going to lose this district. The GOP candidate will win, and that candidate will be Tom DeLay. President is a stretch, but he will be back in congress.

Miltary is not a reform school or prison. Our military does not need wack jobs like this. They would be bad for moral, bad for discipline, and quite possibly, could get innocent soldiers killed.

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:49 AM) The object for cost conscious clubs should be to avoid them and go for alternatives. And it always comes down to this, what magical hold does Boras have that would cause the Sox to offer more than they should? They obviously can't trust themselves to hold to a budget when they talk to Boras, in fact, KW had to have his assistant negotiate. Why is everyone scared of Boras to the point of not even wanting to talk to the man? If they believe $X is a fair contract and that is what they are willing to spend, why would they suddenly spend $2X? Someone tell me the super powers that Boras has. He can't sneak up on anyone, everyone knows what they are getting when he's the agent. Could it be that year after year Boras has the top free agents who command top dollar and the Sox have created Boras to be the monster so the fans divert their attention. I agree a bad contract sucks, especially as your payroll gets smaller. I think what happens on the field is a bigger factor in whether a contract sucks or not, not the agent. Last I looked the agent wasn't swinging the bat or grabbing the leather. I made my point, I have to stop responding, I know it's been beaten to death.

nothing cruel or unusual about it at all

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 06:48 AM) Thanks. We can't disagree on everything

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 03:26 AM) Oh. I've b****ed about it. I just haven't received much support. If we are keeping score, I am 100% behind YASNY on this. Perhaps I'm biased from living on the border, but this stuff isn't even good satire.

The campaign hasn't really started, once the campaign heats up, and the Hammer comes out, they will fall by the wayside. No way a Dem gets elected in Sugarland. The anti-DeLay vote will get split and Terrific Tom the Exterminator is back in Washington. And this time, he's pissed. This will be the Dems worse nightmare.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:03 AM) Are you kidding me?!?! Al Pacino a tough guy?! He didn't get into 1 fistfight. NOT ONE!!!! Marlon Brando was just a fat b****, nothing more. Pacino is so tough no one will take him on. Nathan Lane. Nice. I know is this a single entry contest, but as a group, the 3 Amigos handled bidness pretty damn well.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) I think they put that one aside and watched Dirty Harry or Good Bad and the Ugly. Sudden Impact Al Pacino? Scarface Marlon Brando? Godfather

QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 14, 2006 -> 12:21 PM) I know I'm being a "dreamer" or whatever, but I still find myself wishing for the day when anyone beating anyone would cause outrage in people. This world is so f***ed up. I know I'm being a "dreamer" or whatever, but I still find myself wishing for the day when no one is beating anyone.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) You got issues. I have issues? Yes. But so far most posters here watched Bridges of Madison Country and decided that was a tough guy?
