    I've done a few.
  2. I4E can handle the attorney stuff Congratulations. What's the address? And this is the baby's room, and this is the posting room, and over . . .
  3. I know I am in the minority in liking Mariotti. One thing I like is when he does like something, or think it's good, they are almost unimpeachable. I enjoy the skepticism. He's getting convinced just like the rest of us. Read the Skeptics thread, Jay's more positive than a lot of members that post here.
  4. I would like to confess to you, my fellow Sox fans, that I was thinking this team would be like the 1990-91 Blackhawks, lots of wins, but end the season with a loss. I am a changed man. I just lifted my foot from the pavement and jumped totally on the bandwagon. I am now convinced, if healthy, this team could win it all. Have any other skeptics, oldtimers like YASNY, become convinced after this series? 2005
  5. Other moments in bunny history A history lesson they leave out of the books :-) And finally do you think the family will ever need this link?
  6. I'm setting the over/under on 4 days until the next person attempts that trick.

QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) I gotta go with the Bangles. They all played instruments, they all sang, and they all wrote. In college I would leave MTV on all night just so I could hear them. Well, not just hear them... SFF Jeez, I gotta grow up.
  8. You know, changing her oil does sound kind of erotic
  9. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) I took my car in today for the usual: oil chance, tires rotated, blah, blah, blah. Anyway, the man that met me at the car (they usually meet you there, hold your door open, show you into the service area, whatever) says as I get out of my car, "Are you here to get serviced today?" I wasn't sure how to respond. Duh, is he hot?
  10. People. Starting Game 1 is a big deal to any pitcher. Do you really think Oz would sit the franchise's best pitcher in game one? Buerhle has been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball over the past 4 seasons. To not give him the start would be a giant slap in the face to Buerhle. Buerhle will start game 1 of healthy. There shouldn't be any debate. This isn't MLB2005 for Game Cube.
  11. In the end, Ozzie will want to trot out his best arm in game one and that is Buerhle. He'll want his next best arm, Garland in game 2. That easily leaves Freddy as game 3 and the schedule will determine if Mark gets game 4 or not. Even Oz won't mess with convention on this one.
  12. Very sad news if it happens. Not the way Frank's career should end in Chicago. If he does play in another unform, I would hope he signs a 1 day contract to retire as a White Sox player.
  13. I think too many people believe real police work is like CSI, L&O, etc. and everything wraps up in a nice neat ball. There was probably as many theories as to where we was as people in that room, maybe more. Later one guy is found to be right. I don't care who was in command at the time, it isn't easy capturing someone with multiple millions of dollars and fanatics that would die for him. Combine that with our nation's insistence on playing by the law and walking our talk, makes this doubly difficult.
  14. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Are you a VeggieSaurus Tex? Being in the Texas area, I would guess you could be hung if you were. I myself would consider being a vegitarian if there wasn't BBQ out there. But a pulled broccoli sandwich just won't cut it. Texas BBQ raises BBQ to a whole different level. Nothing like some pit cooked brisket, charro beans, rice, jalapenos, onion, pickles, and a sweet tea, to brighten my day. Or maybe a 1/2 chicken. I guess it is Rudy's or Lone Star today for lunch. The point about cute and cuddly is probably right on. To avoid getting eaten, dogs and cats became companion animals. If we ran a dog down a cattle line to be euthanized, it would be a crime.
  15. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Reading is a skill . . . I was just reading over directions on the maps that I am enclosing with my invites and when I looked at the heading, I swear it said "Directions to hell" rather than "Directions to hall." Invitations?

With soooo many more choices, we probably have seen the end of the mega anchor. In the days of the "Big 3" networks, there was a huge built in viewership for network news. I just don't see another Jennings, Cronkite, etc. coming down the road and having a 3 or 4 decade career in the top spot. Rating will nail them first.
  17. I have always found the divide between pet animals and food animals and our industrial killing machines to be fascinating. Imagine the view of our society from the cows perspective. We breed them by jamming a hand way up there, with semen taken from a bull, then snatch away the calf so we can drink the milk. We load them into cattle trailers and bring them to feed yards where they are fed to produce the current best beef possible. Low fat? Well marbled? Not a problem, change the diet. Then they are lead to slaughter, moved along a conveyor, and fed to people who are outraged that a kitten suffered a similar end. And don't get the wrong idea, I too, was outraged that someone would do that to an animal. BTW, in Gale Sayers autobiography he talks about killing his family dog with a knife when the dog was too sick and they could not afford a vet. In the country, animals are put down all the time. Usually a gun shot to the head. One well placed blow, would have been equal to the fate cows have. Any vegetarian besides ChiSoxy around?

QUOTE(MarlinFan84 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) New here. How is everyone doing? I am from Southern Illinois, am a Marlins fan, and just figured I'd try a new message board out. And Mark Buerhle came to my front door one day when he got his truck stuck down in the bottoms where he and his bud were hunting and we had to pull him out. hmmm, my bs-o-meter is starting to buzz Welcome to Soxtalk, we're keeping an eye on all Marlin's fans.
  20. MB, JG, FG repeat as necessary. Mark is our best, most experienced arm. Garland is hot and if he continues you want him on the mound as often as possible. Freddy is the best of what is left. You don't start flipping trying for matchups. Put your best guys out there and play hard. You want Mark to get as many starts as possible.

    QUOTE(Spiff @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) You're the last one I can remember. touche!
  22. Just out of curiosity, how many people here eat meat? How many have visited a slaughter house and watched a pig, cow, or chicken be dispatched? I am in no way defending what these people have done, by our definition, it was cruel to animals. Yet we routinely butcher animals for our food and their fate is not much different that what that kitten went through. I sometimes wonder why most of us feel sad for the kitty while munching down on a nice hunk of beef.
  23. Eventually one is going to fly outta the park.

How many times have we welcomed new members, encouraging them to post, and then wished they would STFU? Don't be that guy Welcome to Soxtalk
  25. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) I think wayne did this for the sake of the league... just another attraction for fans this year. This is going to be a fun year in the NHL Exactly what I was thinking. Nothing like a sideshow to entertain the fans. BTW, and this may be a meaningless stat, but exactly one of the top 75 scorers who turned coach posted a winning lifetime record. Not too many HoF players turn into great HoF caliber coaches in any sport.
