  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 07:03 AM) There's some filtering going on alright. FoxNews is the highest rated cable news channel so the audience is filtering themselves in that direct vs. CNN, MSNBC and whatnot. They also seem to be filtering themselves on political talk radio. Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Riley, Reagan, etc. are all over the AM dial. They are there because they get good ratings. They get good ratings because people choose to listen to them. Mega Dittos to that YASNY! And those shows have done that by screaming media bias. Interesting in athis area which voted 83% for the Democratic candidate in the last election, there are no moderate or liberal shows on the air. Just Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Ingrams, Savage, etc. Could that have something to do with the giant corporations that control the programming and the advertising? If the public doesn't have a choice, how can you point to the GOPerhead's show ratings and make any conclusion? With giant corporations controlling the media, we are getting programming that they want, not the reverse. Broadcasters have been benefiting from GOP policies in regards to monopolies for the past couple decades. In turn, the giant broadcasting companies are kissing the GOP backsides. YAS, you remember the days when the same company could not own a TV station, radio station, and newspaper in the same city. Now it has become common place.
  2. Humans, at their worst, are the cruelest animals on the planet. :headshake
  3. Let's go kick some ass. They have WMD and are willing to use them. Load the planes, recruit more soldiers, call the UN, ok skip that last part, support our Troops!! This is why we need Tom Delay in the White House. Those bastards would already be dead with the Hammer in charge.
  4. Oh s*** that's what we don't need. Using up all the wins in the regular season.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 07:42 AM) I'm thinking that someone else will probably knock him out. Carpenter has a lot of wins.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 07:26 AM) Hot Chicks III - THE REVENGE OF THE POWER WOMAN! Only women in power suits can be posted. Something tells me that this contest is over before it starts, oh what a shame. her resume is hot
  10. On the NL side, I hope the voters recognize that in 7 of Clemen's starts the team was shut out. Zero runs in 7 starts. He should be the clear front runner for the Cy Young, but his record will probably knock him out.

A personal favorite of mine, and I have to recreate it here, it was never saved. That was 15,400 posts ago.
  12. What a sad crash from a couple seasons ago.
  13. thank you for confirming my lifelong believe that that are intelligent Cub fans. Funny thing is, we are fighting for the same casual fans that hard core Sox fans make fun of. Those 25,000 who attend each game, spend $$$$, cheer at the wrong time, do the wave, stand between innings, etc. Then we could draw 3,000,000 and Cub fans could make fun of Sox fans talking on their cell phones, standing at the wrong time, etc. BTW, if you happen to be Steve Bartman
  14. He is soooo right about Telender. My fav local sports guy. "our clubhouse" If that doesn't speak volumes about how Hawk sees his job as a homer and not an objective reporter/announcer. Does Hawk have a locker next to Ozzie or Buerhle? I'm picturing Hawk heading to the showers after the game.

  16. What is exciting is how people are gathering there and adding to her voice. China would have removed her and the press never would have heard of her. I do not believe the President should ever be blackmailed into anything. However, I hope he hears their voices. All of our leaders should know that there is never 100% consensus in the real world. (Rush's loyal followers being the exception). Ditto.

  19. http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2005380311,00.html I'm thinking it happened like this. Marshal is reading the story of the Emperor who wore no clothes to Hallie. After pondering the moral of the story she looks at dad and says, dad you know, you really can't rap, you have no talent, most of your songs are crap.
  20. QUOTE(winodj @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 07:54 AM) Apparently Rush Limbaugh is insinuating that Cindy Sheehan faked her sons death. but these little babies these babies are real. I had my maid pick them up. I really enjoy Rush more knowing he's a recovering addict.

One year my traveling baseball team of 14 had 5 guys named Jim. Jim Adkins got to keep Jim. One Jim became LBJ as in led bottom Jim, another became Valentine (his last name), another became Dirk (again, almost his last name) and after one particularly huge home run cut in bp I became Grandma It stuck in a few circles for years. I get all the usual derivatives of Jim, Jimbo, Jimmy, JimBob, etc. Some still call me Hammer from my hard core sales days, and a few more call me Tex.
