  1. I was out at the ranch and received an text message about the trade. Hours later, I finally could log in and do a little research. After looking at the stats, analyzing the pros and cons, and reading this thread my only thought is United Airlines flies to Charlotte??
  2. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) Which one of the granddaughters is that hanging over the edge puking and holding a bottle of Jack? man...another stupid post I need to edit. I need to get some help on this s***. :headshake I think it's nice when George Sr. taked his mom for a boat ride
  3. He missed last time also.
  4. A series of small, seemingly unconnected decisions, suddenly collide in some mad scientist choas experiment, and I'm so sad and confused.
  5. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) My Who isn't that good, I don't get it. Pinball Wizard is from the Townsend Opera Tommy. Tommy was the deaf, dumb, and blind pinball player. I was thinking about the button mashers and when Pac Man was popular, I was calling on Midway Manufacturing, the people that invented it. The lobby was filled with games for us sales reps to pass the time. I could get past the first four or five screens without looking. But that's a maze game, not a fighting game. That's what amazed me. Two player games have some randomness that cannot be predicted.
  6. I suck the world sucks I'm having a terrible, terrible day. I wish "do overs" really existed.

Since I get most of my games via mlb.tv and mlb.radio I've heard a lot of these announcers and for my money The Sox have the best radio crew and the NY Yankees have the best TV crew. Being a Sox fan I enjoy Hawk a lot but from an objective point of view, the Yankee TV team is great.

The first one I thought of was Olivia Newton-John and her physical cover. A friend of mine used it for decoration in his apartment. Bad fashion statement.
  9. I heard of a deaf, dumb, and blind kid who played a mean pin ball, but this is crazy cool.
  10. Dejected dad at work "I can't believe it, I think my 5 year old is a Cubs fan" "That's too bad, but how do you know?" "He was smiling and reading the sports section" "But how do you know he's a Cub fan?" "The newspaper was upside down!"
  11. Similar joke: Cub fan walking on the beach, rubs a lantern, genie pops out and will grant him one wish. The Cub fans ponders for a moment and tells the genie, I'd like to do something that all of mankind could benefit from. Here is a map of the middle east, there is so much war there, I'd like to see peace for all in the region. The genie thinks for a moment and says, this is beyond what a humble genie can do. They have been at war for generations, it would take the biggest miracle. I can't. How about something else? Well I've been a Cub fan for a long time and I'd like to see them win a World Series? The genie thinks for a second and says, "Where's that map again?"
  12. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) Fruit will get you the most bang for your buck. Actually hookers will get you the most bang for your buck
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) Yeah, the Mexicans seem to think Corona is holy juice.... Actually they wonder why we drink so much of it. The reverse would be Mexicans going crazy for Budweiser. Of the cheap, common, Mexican beers, Sol is my favorite.

I was going to thread jack a bit, but decided this would be so disturbing to some purists, it needed it's own thread. What's your favorite mixed drink with beer as an ingredient? I know most purists will shudder at the thought of mixing a beer with anything else, but I have to admit one guilty pleasure, the Michilada. The Michilada, as mixed along the border consists of Rose's Lime Juice, sometimes a dash of this or that (Secret of the bar tendress) a salted rim, over ice. A close drink is a beer-a-rita. It is also sometimes make with Bloody Mary mix.
  15. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) Hey! THe kid wasn't seriously hurt, so where is the harm??? It's one of those crazy family stories they'll be telling at the Christmas table for years
  16. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) My wife loves Jars. Their only problem is that for a bit there they were getting very repetitive. I haven't heard them for a bit, but man, during the "Flood" time, they rewrote variations on that song on every album. Yes, but, of course, their fans forgave them
  17. Nothing like a beer thread to get everyone going.
  18. QUOTE(mreye @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) American superband, huh? Not neccessarily rock? How about Alabama? 40+ Number one singles! Just saying. Where is Led Zeppelin from? QUOTE(Spiff @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 09:07 AM) Zep is from England. QUOTE(mreye @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) Thank you. I didn't think they were from the US, but was unsure. I am feeling sooooooooooooooooo old right now. Bonus: Jars of Clay Flood is one of my favorite songs of all-time, all genres. I say them in concert at the Rosemont Theater about 7 or 8 years ago. Just awesome.
  19. Mom of the Year material
  20. 90s Building the Bridge. Sidenote, Clinton campaign theme and the band was invited to play one of the inaugural balls.

  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 08:07 AM) I helped set up a show for REO a few years back, and they were some of the nicest guys you could ever deal with. I wasn't nearly as big of a fan of them before I met them. I sure can't say that for all of the groups we help set up, there were some really assholes. Some of them were really surprising to me. They are always my pick for most under rated band of all time. In between the TOP 40, sells a lot of record, hits and some good, well crafted, tunes. I also appreciate there lack of drama, angst, break ups to make ups, etc. Ridin' the Storm Out, played really, really, loud, with the windows down and some good buddies is almost spiritual. A personal fave
  23. I don't see anyone player tipping the scales in our favor in a series with Boston, NY, Angels, or even, andthis would be cool, the Cards. So I'm not too worried either direction.
  24. I've decided that the most underratd lead singer in rock and roll history is Gary Puckett. Damn, that guy could sing. Cheap Trick had a great, but short, run. Loved more in Japan than Jersey.
