I have a 36 gallon tank. $140 was my last fill. I'm pulling a trailer and getting 9 mpg. Oil companies love me this summer. That 5% rebate my credit card is giving me will add up.

Starting in the 1990s the gun industrial complex realized that hunters were a nice market but they could sell millions more by selling to the rest of America. They ratcheted up the advertising and within a couple years they dropped hunting related ads to about 10% of their overall budget. The most iconic ad of that era appeared in Ladies Homes Journal. I forget the handgun, Baretta 9mm probably, it was sitting on the kitchen table with the tag line Home insurance. Companies are getting rich by making Americans afraid. Drug testing companies manipulate Americans into believing most people on assistance are drug users and we ought to buy millions of their drug testing kits. States discovered that most folks on assistance weren't drug users. We stopped locking up non violent drug offenders. The for profit prison industry convinced Americans to lock up undocumented workers. Another nice group of non violent offenders that they can profit from. There is a lot of money to be made by making America seem full of problems.
  6. I forgot about that one. Better than car jacking and where to find masks.

Multiply Greg by several million, toss in some great Madison avenue targeted marketing, "Here's Your Man Card", and you understand the gun problem in America.

I thought it was worse in the 90s.
  9. He's an easy guy to like.
  10. Best thread Greg has ever started.
  11. He's looking like an athlete who wants to play in the MLB. He's about thirty over?
  12. I kept thinking he was close to some breakthrough.
  13. Menechino will fix him just doesn't have the same feelings as the old Coop will fix him.
  14. Be nice or he's quitting and going to Japan.
  15. And that's arguably the hardest thing to fix.

I'd be worried they would run and hug me. Then we both have gas on us.
  17. Drove nine hours today to a Casino campground in Oklahoma. Figured a little dinner then take the shuttle and play a while. Damn shuttle isn't running anymore. I don't want to unhook my travel trailer so thank you for the free campsite, I'd like to play, but can't. I guess I'll fuel up here, I feel guilty not offering something. Nice sites for an overnight. Dead flat and level.
  18. I was driving all day. I couldn't post and drive. But as soon as the whole level five self driving thing is real . . .
  19. If you truly want to stay positive and be optimistic here are a couple thoughts. We know Tony hides minor injuries and, for example, who is available to pitch at any given moment. I don't believe it's unreasonable to believe the team will get healthier and Tony will make better moves when he has the options. Yes he's past his prime, but he's been on the winning side of more World Series than anyone on the roster or in the front office. Some of his blunders may have been unannounced injury driven. Players don't usually fall off the cliff. We have a lot of guys slumping early. To get back to average, they may all get hotter than Texas asphalt in summer by September and October. And we have the easiest schedule coming up.

They will take my car when they pry the cold . . . Nah, I'll give it to them. Not worth the risk of fighting or pouring gas.
  21. Hall of Fame even. Nice win today.
  22. He'll fit right in.
  23. I wish him the best of luck. He won't be able to surprise anyone anymore. After the monster start pitchers found his weaknesses. It will be harder for him if he makes it back up.
  24. Let's start Dodger talk just for Jack.
