  1. I was going to say pull the starters, but they are already sitting.
  2. Put a fork in 'em -- they are done. If they keep winning series life is good. I'm going to play a little golf
  3. With all the profits the team makes? Every player deserves even more. Remember the lockout?
  4. I'm too lazy to research but can you think of a sub that would be more valuable for this team? I'd like to compare him to one guy. As injured as we always seem to be, having a guy like him seems like a rare puzzle piece that fits.
  5. So that I understand. Modern players are more talented earlier players were more robust? Meaning we're keeping more talented but now injury prone guys around over less talented but durable?
  6. Let's pause for a moment to recognize how Vaughn has worked hard to make himself even more versatile and valuable. That is the hallmark of a champion. Like a lot of guys on this team he has a great attitude and work ethic. Some of that credit goes to the front office and coaching staff.
  7. One more thought, even at his 2021 productivity, just staying healthy and getting 30+ starts is a benefit to this rotation. It's not like he'll blow out his arm with his fastball.
  8. Again, not only him. He needs help. But I'm expecting to see flashes of the 2017 - 2020 guy with the durability of the 2021 guy. But I'm a little biased from watching him in Houston. And it's an amateur take fueled perhaps by wishful thinking.
  9. As I said in the thread I'm bullish on Keuchel this season. I believe 12 wins is likely. Based partially on him but also our offense and bull pen. It's a contract year and likely will be his last contract that he'll have a little leverage.
  10. As always it's a marketing battle to get the casual fan through the gate. Both teams have their regulars it's pulling from the folks that may go to a game, but just as easily may decide to hit a bar and sing karaoke.
  11. But we could be a better 4-1. Maybe Tony is proactively protecting Vaughn from injury while risking Garcia. Vaughn and Garcia, one my opportunity, one by necessity, are getting playing time by being versatile. Vaughn is in a tighter bottleneck right now than Garcia. This is basically spring training that counts in the standings.
  12. So pro, what team do you work for? I'm working my way up to premier status. The ball was unpredictable coming off the wet surfaces which also contributed to Crawford not fielding that ball. To be fair to everyone it was crushed but playable. The odds of him cleaning fielding it go up in predictable conditions and down in a down pour. At this risk of being an amateur, rain sucks less for hitters than fielders.
