For those that want the team punished would you agree to MLB fining the team and or taking away draft picks? That seems like a more direct response than pushing sponsors. I would support the Commissioner suspending Larussa for a year if he is convicted. I believe that's in the best interest of baseball.

I'm comfortable with our legal system punishing guilty people. It's certainly within your right to additionally punish the people and organizations around them. Is it your opinion that the justices system does not deliver a severe enough penalty on the individual?

At my wife's school an elective teacher tested positive. Because the teacher floated they stopped all face to face instruction and moved to 100% virtual. They had a good ten weeks.

the equivalent I am claiming is the risk to society. An executive and a minimum wage worker when driving drunk presents the same risk to society. If your goal is to make society safer by pressuring companies to not hire people with DUIs, it doesn't matter their position. If your goal is to mitigate the business damage from hiring someone then yes, there is a difference with high profile employees.

OK. So it's not about the danger to society that the employee caused but the position within the company? From a business risk standpoint I agree. It's a bad business decision. But you've lead us to giving a free pass to hire people who have a DUI as long as there are lots of other people who can also do the job. But if there are fewer people who can do the job and fewer openings, that's a problem. I don't think we believe that do we?

How often in history have people hidden behind it was someone else's decision or they were just following orders. You are advocating for something that will punish innocent people. Own it. 4. I don't have a problem with them firing anyone. In fact I believe it's a wise path to follow. Punish the guilty. 5. That has nothing to do with what I posted.

I'm still going to support the team. The Sox have a product that I buy just like Amazon, USAA, my mortgage company, my brokerage house, Ford, Titleist, and all the other companies I buy from. I still watch reruns of Two and a Half Men and Kelsey Grammar stuff. That's my choice. I don't think there is a business out there of any size that hasn't had an employee with a DUI. It shouldn't matter who in the organization had the DUI. A line cook at Denny's is as dangerous driving drunk as a baseball executive. I'll let the courts determine the punishment. If convicted I hope the punishment is severe based on it being a second conviction. But I'm still watching and following the team. I'm also not going to drive away sponsors who may never come back. That is punishing innocent people in the organization who worked hard to sell those sponsors and who don't deserve to have their livelihood in jeopardy because TLR and JR made a bad decision.

or instead of using total runs for the season to determine the winner divide it up into 162 games and count who wins the most games.

I'm not as convinced this hurts chances with free agents anymore than if they hired someone who had been suspended for cheating.

By the way, and I know it's a minor point, but he hasn't been found guilty. I can think of at least one other high profile celebrity who was charged with a DUI and it was determined later that he hadn't been drinking at all. I can think of a Lacrosse team that lost a chance at a national title because they were judged guilty because of arrests. I appreciate our legal process in America and the fundamental underpinning of innocent until proven guilty. That doesn't mean I don't believe he's guilty or excusing his actions in anyway. Just an appreciation of our legal system.

Perhaps based on personal experience I don't criticize anyone for things they say while drunk. So I'm giving him a pass on the I'm a hall of fame guy. People say shit when they are drunk and I'm glad friends and folks around me have forgiven some crazy shit I've posted and said while drunk and belligerent. With that preface . . . I'm so excited that JR is so convinced Tony is the guy to lead this team to a championship he'd bring him in knowing this would come out. He's selling his soul to bring us, his most loyal fans, another World Series. I have a tear in my eye and an enjoy bottle of tequila next to be.

I haven't been in close contact with someone who tested positive. I'm praying he doesn't test positive but they are in the same house, so I'm expecting the worse.

Keep going because the person I was near hasn't tested positive.

Our school district protocol is keep coming to campus unless the other tests positive then I'm home for two weeks.

And that's the problem. We can't remember how long. Probably 15 to 20 minutes over a couple hours.

Like firing people. I'm not certain there is anything I want him doing as a lame duck. In fact I really wish there was congressional oversight on some actions during this time.
