So I have a 100 watt solar panel and extra deep cycle 12v battery I used occasionally with my RV. I decided to hook it up in my backyard and power some 12v landscaping lights and a light in my shed. So far so good. I found a cheap controller on Amazon that has terminals to add a load plus a dusk timer. I'm having fun learning about electricity and solar charging.

Didn't the president have to nominate someone before the Senate could get started?

Is there a rich or powerful guy in America over 70 who wasn't a scumbag back in the day. Even Al Franken! At least he did the right thing and apologized and resigned.

Anyone miss the days of early returns and projections before the polls closed?

My concern is eliminating the electoral college and the citizens in about 20 states become important and states like mine become even more important.

Everything in our government flows through states. The Congress, Senate, are based on states. Federal spending flows through states. We're the united states for a reason. The states elect a president.

That's what prompted the question. A coworker reported a business closing early tonight and claimed it was based on advice from law enforcement.

You won't convert conservatives or liberals and candidates don't try. It's the middle third that determines elections.

Has anyone heard of cities visibly preparing for looting and protests tonight?
  11. They had a MLB manager of the year finalist in place. The front office doesn't seem to think that's an issue.
  12. Any chance that maybe players will respect three World Series rings and a bust in Cooperstown?

I'm also Catholic and point of interest Obama received a sizable majority of Catholic's votes. I believe I can justify my political leftist leanings with my faith quite nicely.

First off understand by religious we really mean Christian. A few issues that cause folks to vote for a Republican candidate. Abortion. Continued tax deductions for donations. Merry Christmas not Happy Holidays. Private school choice.

  16. We took our 5 year old grandson to his first corn maze and regretted it for weeks until any danger of infection passed.
  17. What type of coach would be eager to work for TLR?

Let's remember the folks who supported Bush, Reagan, Romney, McCain, etc are continuing to vote for the Republican candidate. I'm honoring John McCain and his memorable defense of Obama. There are idiots on both sides of the aisle. Trump is the first successful candidate that fired the fringe up in this way. Let's not judge the mainstream GOP supporter to these people.
  19. Does it even really matter on an individual response level? Mask, hand sanitizer, no contact, social distancing, it's just a habit at this point whether there were 100 cases or 1000 cases yesterday. I just don't see that stopping anytime soon. On a macrolevel for policies it's important.
  20. Before the season started we discussed too few games, expanded playoffs, rules changes, legitimate WS winner, and a host of other issues. It felt like a real season. The champs deserved it. Overall I'm glad they played. With just a couple bumps in the road I believe it went better than most of us predicted.

I know a lot of Trump supporters, none would ever do something like that. They are as outraged as you and I.
  22. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  23. I'm numb to the numbers at this point. Six months ago I knew the daily infection and death totals in my area. Now I have no clue.

On a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 just to say I did. Never again. I'd rather attend an election rally without a mask.
  25. I don't think you have to have played to mediate an argument between players. There are plenty of sports psychologists and trainers these guys go to and respect who never played the game. As a pitcher would you listen to a guy who was 1-6 with a 5.27 ERA? That's Cooper's stat line. How about amanager that is actually better than the player at something? Analysis and adjustments. We have a manager coming in with three world series rings and a bust in Cooperstown that none of us thinks will be respected by this generation of players. Already our best players are so far ahead of the skill set of their coaches. If having done it was that big of a deal start players would do better at managing. Come up through the organization. Be a bench coach that works with players on their approach. Show them the data and eventually manage the team.
