It seems they built the wall in El Paso on the wrong side to keep them safe.

Ricky's inspirational message on the line up card
Texsox replied to harkness99's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Not directly to your post and I'm thinking more about GMs and coaches than fans. A large amount of data is important to assess the past. But a sharp baseball mind can see changes that will change the arc. That ability separates the top front office types from the rest of humanity. You can think back to the halcyon days of "Coop will fix 'em" or the horror of "Walker will break 'em" days. -
You believe that story? Lol

I was more interested when I misread the headline thinking it was Pablo getting released from jail. Hey kid, sign here, we'll give you this and that and this too . . . Then stuff changes. Maybe if the team was winning. Maybe if X gets hurt, or not hurt. I'm wondering if they promised to trade him.

Some of the impact will depend on how the losses occur.

FS: White Sox Prioritize Savings in Strange Deadline Trade
Texsox replied to Rankin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Sigh. We can't have nice things (top free agents) because we are saving for the future seems hollow when they make this deal. -
Great point that many fans forget. Unlike the NBA or NFL where you expect an impact that season, MLB takes three or four years and who knows what you will need.

Maybe standings instead of status? I was thinking it was a prospect update. I like this speculation as well.

Why WAR is stupid for Closers, especially for Colome

To accomplish this in the early days a scout would get on trains, planes, and automobiles to watch the guy play. Then videotape allowed scouts to stay in the office and open their mail to check talent. Now scouts can search the internet for a video. But a sharp eye for talent is now marginalized for mathematical equations. We want general managers and field managers to just check the stats and do whatever the stats suggest is best. Bmags post makes a lot of sense to me. I use advanced golf stats to help my players plan efficient shot selection and ultimately lower their scores. I'm not as interested in baseball stats because I prefer to watch and evaluate. -
I believe I saw Rice use this in a College World Series game about ten years ago.

DePaul? Lol. They can't even cheat well. -
After looking at this again, they kept saying trying to get a transfer. He may have faked an attack and crawled up in the fetal position to get transferred to better conditions.

I missed the part where she's not living in it. I agree, it doesn't make sense.

I gave away all of my memorabilia. In the end the memories of friends and being at games is all I wanted.

Guys want to take it down a notch or should we put a net between you two? ?

I'm wondering if the constant up and down will make them more noticeable. It seems like if they are always there that's the standard and folks just get use to it.

Have you looked into reverse mortgage? From my limited knowledge it seems ideal in her situation depending on sale price.

Your friends have secrets to. The difference is his friends are all people we've heard of. Trump was right rich, powerful guys back then could grab a woman and get away with it. But this takes it to another, more sickening level.

There are big differences at play here. Even his worse critics admit Harold has borderline stats for HoF. My point is borderline stats with top 1% type character deserves being honored by MLB. Even Aaron's biggest fans wouldn't claim he has borderline stats.

I know a lot of fans want a Hall of Great Stats and anything that can't be measured and ranked doesn't matter. I believe it is a Hall of Fame and a person's overall contribution to the game of baseball should be taken into account. Baines is a credit to the game of baseball. He played with all the great qualities you want in a player. He never disrespected the game by cheating, doing drugs, didn't gamble on baseball, he was a player that truly was a great role model on and off the field. The HoF would be an even bigger farce if they didn't recognize who builds the game up. I believe the Hall is a better place with him enshrined. Parents won't have to shield their children's eyes from the reality of the man when they visit.

I just watched a road range argument as a guy drove past thirty cars that had already merged. So what do y'all do? Drive past all the drivers waiting or merge at the back of the line?

Day of Reckoning is Coming NCAA...

All of the proposals I've seen from colleges call for the same stipend to be paid to each player on the roster. All Div 1 schools would be the same. That has been an issue for the bottom half of D1 schools. The finances in basketball for example are different at Duke or Kansas versus Southern Illinois or Illinois State. The pay needs to be consistent.
