I am trying to keep my expectations low. The level of disappointment will already be pretty huge if Frank isn't elected this year. He's really the first player in my lifetime I cared at all about making the HoF.

It's one more piece of evidence. Not as valuable as others, meaningless when evaluating some pitchers as people have pointed out. But I wouldn't reject any facts. Especially when the wins do not flow with the rest of the stats.

Brain injuries to players have been in the news more frequently. There have been several high profile suicides in recent years. So what should be done?

And to prove your case you looked at ERA, WHIP, IP, and GS and used it aganist W-L. I said that was not a good way to look at it. Which is better looking at: ERA or W-L, WHIP, IP, and GS? WHIP or W-L, ERA, IP, and GS? IP or W-L, WHIP, ERA, and GS? GS or W-L, WHIP, ERA, and IP? There isn't any single stat that really stands on it's own. So rejecting W-L because the other four stats are more reliable is cherry picking. If we want to rank the five stats in order I would be hard pressed to place W-L last. Maybe ERA/WHIP then W-L then IP and GS. I wouldn't place IP or GS above W-L.

I like the ruling. I'm not a fan of any sort of "grab them all and let God sort it out" and "if you have nothing to hide, why are you bothered by it" tactics.

I have conflicting thoughts with this. I want Frank to get in as an example of playing the power game cleanly in baseball. I don't want him to get in based on not using PEDs. He deserves to get in based on his career performance. I don't want to hear reports that he got in because he "played it clean". I want kids to know you can be successful and not cheat.
