  1. pants didn't fit me either, hence the battle to shed forty pounds.
  2. The whole banking thing has gotten messy. It is very easy, and I believe correct, to say no pay, no home. However, when we got in the business of helping the banks, they lost some of their absolute rights. Now we are brokering deals somewhere inbetween live in the house without paying and the banks taking homes where the homeowner is partially behind. Suchs, but that is the new cards that are being dealt. So what is best for society? Banks with homes and people without? People with "free homes" and banks shuttered? We're trying to find something in the middle, maybe we will. There will be mistakes on both sides, we have to live with that.

We traveled the Natchez Trace Parkway which ends in Nashville. We enjoyed the Loveless Cafe for dinner and I hear that breakfast there is really special.
  4. Losing weight has been easy the past month
  5. Just stepped on the scale. Oops.
  6. QUOTE (Soxy @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 08:14 AM) I'm teaching: Intro Psych Senior Research BioPsych Psychology of Monsters (first year seminar) An IS in Language and Culture Another IS just for students to work in my lab. What are you covering? That sounds like a pretty cool class.
  7. QUOTE (G&T @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 01:22 PM) Hard liquor though is another matter. It doesn't help that liquor and wine can't be sold in grocery stores in this state so there isn't a whole lot of competition to diversify the selection. I am sure there is some gem around here someplace but for now, I have to shop hop to pick through whatever selection they have. Really? That kind of sucks.
  8. They gave each passenger a full refund *and* a free cruise.
  9. http://www.boston.com/business/technology/...lar_bill_shock/ First off the government is looking into mandating* changes to cellular companies to prevent this sort of thing from happening. I would get detail from them about the usage, especially to find out exactly the location of the usage and determine if it actually could have been you, or if somehow your phone was cloned or the service provider in Mexico is fraudulently making charges. I would also contact the States Attorney and see what relief you can get from them. *not something Rex does on a Saturday night. I kid because I care™
  10. Once again all the anti-Texas hate on this board. If he some east coast liberal, y'all would be fawning all over him. But he's a damn honest to goodness Texan, and the hate always come rolling out. It's just hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, I'm going to read it, which is probably more than President Bush will do. If the book was great, we'd wonder who wrote it for him. IMNSHO Bush was brighter than we give him credit for, but not exactly our most intelligent President. I thought And Hippos Were Boiled in Their Tanks sucked. That doesn't mean I think any less of Kerouac or Burroughs. I can still like them and dislike what they wrote, and they are authors.
  11. Everyone stand up and stretch
  12. Either way you are calling out a Republican, and I applaud that. Most people here are slow to criticize a politician from their own party. Sorry for the top quote dfamn firefox QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 07:41 PM) Tex, they contest votes like that to make sure there are enough contested ones that they have to be looked at and decided on. 'Working the system' would be playing within the rules as allowed. trying to have the rules changes midstream is just wrong. They already had one rule changed that allowed the polling places to hand out a list of all who signed up to be a write in candidate. previously the rules said no. But a judge appointed by daddy fixed that one fast.
  13. Very good song, and don't be creepin around my back door
  14. Or he wanted to play for a team that was a contender and would have accepted less. Not everyone works for the high bidder like a whore. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 04:20 PM) It was so predictable, its sad. He was offended at playing for $3 million last year so he sits out and now money isn't a concern. Maybe he has a greater appreciation for how lucky he is to be able to play baseball and make that kind of cabbage. I still think he's Paulie's replacement if Paulie leaves.
  15. LOL, he still defined exactly the situation that will bring him back. So are people going to critcize him for playing for money, or not playing for money? It still sounds like he's willing to sit out unless a contender wants him. Gee whiz, a guy that wants to play only if there is a shot at a WS and not just to pocket a couple million or suffer through a losing season.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 04:38 PM) Queasiness engulfed my core as I watched this video... Throwing up, I can't watch that
  17. First off I fainted when I saw Alpha being so critical of a Republican. Who would have expected Alpha to accuse so strongly a Republican for trying to work the system to her advantage to win. Interpreting the law is why we have so many courts and so many lawyers. Which I appreciate. We'll need less as our rights get eroded. If the ballots are denied, expect a suit from voters in Alaska whose right to vote was denied because of this law. I'm hoping she has enough uncontested ballots to win, and the last report I heard, seems to indicate she will. I also heard that the Miller folks contested one ballot because the letter L in her name was in cursive and the rest was printed. I'd be embarrassed.
  18. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 12:35 PM) Wow, great morals by the Sox organization. As much as I want a bigger presence in Latin America, it has to be done the right way. EDIT: Great morals by baseball in general too. Geesh. Not that simple. Morality is based in part on the society. It is also probably wrong to impose US morality on the rest of the world. And again, I have no proof of what management was thinking, I am just thinking about my experiences explaining to US based companies how business was being done in other parts of the world.
  19. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) Looking for a yummy new amaretto drink? Try this one. I think I will give that a try only subbing Godiva White Chocolate for the Creme de Cocoa
  20. And based on my work experiences, White Sox management was typical in not wanting to understand how business was being conducted in that area, and probably believing the worst about the people there. In other words, if Wilder told them it was necessary to pay these extras for almost any reason, they probably would have agreed with it. Again, this is based on my previous work history of setting up procurement offices for companies outside the US. Business owners were very trusting (gullible) and willing to believe any story.
