QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 24, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) Is that true? I thought all the reports are saying that jobs that are outsourced are replaced with other jobs here. Last I saw they were being replaced by lower earning service sector types of jobs. WalMart part time cashiers, things like that. But I will admit that info could be stale and inaccurate.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 21, 2010 -> 08:49 PM) It's great when our economic future is to ensure that there's a worker program for minumum wage jobs rather then a structure where people are rewarded higher salaries for actually knowing and achieving things at a job. While we are fighting for minimum wage jobs, middle class jobs are being outsourced, and higher wage jobs are being taken by H1B Visa holders. The business leaders and politicians have done a great job of misdirection.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 24, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) I don't think England or British people in general are still upset about the colonies, but I could be wrong. Cinco de Mayo isn't a Mexican holiday. It's celebrated in the US and one province there. Yep, basically a made up thing to get consumers to buy Mexican beer and eat in Mexican restaurants.

I was at the last finals game played at the stadium. A buddy got tickets and took me. I hate being down here for this, but at least I have DirecTV and will be watching the games. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) So, there's no benefit to American students to understand the history of other countries/cultures? No need to understand, we have nuclear weapons and one hell of an army.

Each country should enact laws that are in the best interest for that country. I really do not care what laws Mexico has for their country.
-
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 24, 2010 -> 12:10 PM) Couldn't the overt display of mexican flags, etc on that day have also been seen as distracting and disruptive to the educational process? Of course and I am certain that conservatives would have supported those students as well. (Is there enough green in the universe for that comment?) lol
-
That school is spending millions and millions to educate students, why allow a few to disrupt that process?

http://www.cnn.com/2010/OPINION/05/20/nava...dex.html?hpt=C2 I am now a big fan of controlling behavior in school

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ May 20, 2010 -> 04:44 PM) Really?!?!!? I'm shocked to hear that, but then I realized you're in Texas where a lot of 14 year olds probably have more conservative christian values than most anywhere else. I am in an area that is 85% Hispanic, mostly first and second generation immigrant. As far as conservative, not a chance. 95% of this area votes Democratic. We're about the most liberal area of the country outside Massachusetts.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) Or milkman is 78 years old and yells at kids to get off his lawn. Maybe not, I am surprised by how many of my 13-14 year old students have a negative image about tats.
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) I must say I have no idea where you are coming from there. I kind of did the same double take. I'm guessing it has some health, and defiling the body as temple angle.

I prefer to collect different art. Yours is pretty cool. I like unique designs instead of pickin something off the wall.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 19, 2010 -> 04:10 PM) Which I would argue is due to millions of people being here to take their jobs cheaper. Take a look at how many H1B Visas are allowed each year. Wouldn't it be better to focus on keeping those jobs for Americans than worrying about minimum wage jobs?

A better slump buster is sticking bats in an inflatible doll. With the offense running so smoothly, I'm surprised anyone would risk upsetting that apple cart. Ozzie has sent some strange messages to players before, telling them they all suck and putting him in is just another one of those messages. As long as Oz is managing, we'll see one or two of those per season, and they will get increasingly strange.

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ May 19, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) do they have college degrees? 2 do, 1 does not. All three have familes, are in the middle years of careers, 10-15 years of experience.

The only unemployment number I'm looking at is 3, the number of friends of mine who are still unemployed and who have established work records.

There is a whole lot of meaningless comments, political posturing, and hollow gestures happening.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 19, 2010 -> 12:35 PM) Tex, i can't recall, but does the law say what form(s) of ID would meet their requirements? 1. A VALID ARIZONA DRIVER LICENSE. 40 2. A VALID ARIZONA NONOPERATING IDENTIFICATION LICENSE. 41 3. A VALID TRIBAL ENROLLMENT CARD OR OTHER FORM OF TRIBAL 42 IDENTIFICATION. 43 4. IF THE ENTITY REQUIRES PROOF OF LEGAL PRESENCE IN THE UNITED 44 STATES BEFORE ISSUANCE, ANY VALID UNITED STATES FEDERAL, STATE OR LOCALGOVERNMENT ISSUED IDENTIFICATION.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 19, 2010 -> 12:35 PM) Tex, i can't recall, but does the law say what form(s) of ID would meet their requirements? I read where they would not accept, in most cases, out of state driver's licenses because some states do not make citizenship a requirement before driving. In the first arrest they required the defendant's wife to bring in a birth certificate.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 19, 2010 -> 11:24 AM) So what? A state FINALLY grows some balls and acts for their (its citizens) interests. I like it. Every state should be that way. I do not believe a law that will result some of their citizens having to carry citizenship papers is looking out for all their interest. Perhaps you mean passing a law looking out for the intersts of white citizens.

We'll see how AT&T does today. After two missed appointments and requesting that I gain them access to their easement in a neighbor's yard, they are suppose to be out this afternoon.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 18, 2010 -> 12:04 PM) Well, everyone always says teaching jobs are a cinch to obtain in the South... Yep, I only need to apply to 97 school districts covering eight different counties.
