  1. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 11:44 AM) laws be damned! if it's good for business, it's ok! I'm seriously shocked that so many people are ok with illegals in this country. I agree that our tight control over immigration isn't in the American spirit, so I join those that think the process for citizenship/visas/guest worker programs needs to be changed to become more efficient and shorter in time. But this attitude that defying laws because of x, y, and z is just laughable. "My kids need an xbox so I'm going to rob a bank. Don't worry! It's ok! I'm just helping my family! The ends justify the means!" Ridiculous. I feel ZERO sympathy for this guy. Ya know what? Do things the right way and you don't have to be worried about it. And when did this completely unfounded position that illegals are the ONLY people that would take those jobs start? That's just made up bulls***. Jobs are jobs, and if there's demand for it, someone will fill the position. That's a ridiculous excuse to justify people committing illegal acts. Actually jobs are not jobs. There are people who have been out of work for months, even years, that would not take a nursery job, or a packing shed job, or a meat packing job . . .
  2. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) Send your friend an email. This is pretty outstanding. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....ut-it-here.html dammit, the article put tears in my eyes.
  3. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 11:01 AM) This is what happens when you trade away every prospect you have. Every player, on every roster, is your prospect if you are willing to pay the price to get that player.
  4. Great points. The randomness and all the factors off the field (computer ranking, votes), plus being played by younger athletes who also have full time jobs (going to class) outside of their sport, makes the BCS #1 to me.
  5. college kids sleep until noon, and begin thinking about going out at 10pm. I'm not certain it is that big of a deal competitively.

I sold my Kawasaki Vulcan when I moved to Texas. With my new job which makes commuting on one doable, I will be back in the market soon.
  7. The real argument was probably two very competitive people pissed that the team that put together/manage is sucking. They are both on edge and started arguing. The topic at hand was probably meaningless. It could have been over a lunch tab, color of a shirt, or their kids.
  8. Where is it all heading? My guess is at least one national conference with 12 of the top 20 football teams. Maybe not this time around, but soon enough. I could even see a really stunning realignment with conferences developed strictly for football, basketball, and the olympic sports. National scope for the two major revenue sports and regional for the non revenue sports. It would take a major rethinking of what a conference is, but it would make the most money, save the most money, and money is what it is all about.
  9. After he moves from Arizona, I wonder who will be taking his job and if the nursery owner will think it imporved his business.
  10. It all adds up. A few years back a teenager was killed on the US side while tending to his family's goats. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 12:19 AM) What about the frustration of Mexican troops aiming weapons at our law enforcement agents. Its one thing when you have to deal with the illegal immigrants, but its another issue when you involve the neighbors and their troops.

US paper money is exactly 6" and manufactured to a tighter tolerance than a .99 WalMart 6" ruler.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 09:30 AM) GMAFB. Working and raising a family.
  13. There is a lot of frustration for US law enforcement on the border. People running back across the border and taunting insults. People up north thinking you are doing a s***ty job. Most Americans along the border have relatives and friends south of the border.
  14. http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/06/08/texas.bor...?eref=rss_crime The kid was on the Mexico side, the agent on the US side. There is no proof if the kid was throwing rocks, although kids around him were.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 08:03 PM) I'm glad I am not in Texas with the eye candy you have down there. And I spend my summers on the South Padre beach . . .

    Happy birthday!
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) Alright, we are all guys here, so here goes... I have been "going at it" the past few weeks like I am 15. I'm talking daily or once every other day. I have been doing my thing once a week at the most when I wasn't getting laid. I get "warmed up" at the slightest things it seems recently. What the hell is wrong with me? Awesome bump.
  18. How about the rules where each player has to play?
  19. One of the good guys.

Cool, thanks QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:48 AM) When I was a kid my family loaded up the RV and went from Central Illinois down to Natchez. I'm pretty sure we hit up that parkway. Also stopped in Vicksburg. As a 14-15 year old, Vicksburg was awesome, especially in the summer. Buy the drive along CD and you can get the history of the battle with the convenience of the AC. And you can get out to look at anything you find interesting (there's quite a bit to see). Natchez was ok if you're into looking at really old (but cool) plantation mansions. A lot of them have "actors" playing the roles of the original owners/slaves/workmen, to give you a little more history.
  21. The Boy Scout Soccer and Scouting program is planned, organized, and understood to be a non competitive, development program. They do not keep score, the emphasis is on sportsmanship and learning how to be better soccer players. It runs through the age of 12. Some kids jump into a more competitive league as they get older, some go to the travelling, hypercompetitive programs. Bottom line there is room for all kinds. I'm not going to fault a league if they are wishing to be less competitive. I was president of the men's golf association at my last country club. We had a group of guys that played hard with money always on the line.Is there something wrong with the guys that just wanted to play for a little excercise and to see how well they can do?
  22. It will be interesting to see how the penalty minutes shake out tonight. I expect a more physical game tonight.
  23. QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 31, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) They forgot to superimpose George W. Bush looking down from the heavens onto both pictures - while photoshopping in the devil horns. Each President has a chance to make a difference. They can't solve everything, all they can do is make small changes. Those changes will make it slightly better or slightly worse. In the end Presidents receive too much credit and too much blame.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 25, 2010 -> 01:43 PM) If we are paying billions of dollars for something, yes, unlike the Democrats apparently, I expect something for it. I assume the government would have to sub contract this to someone, I doubt we have a underwater well plugging up crew" so all we would be doing is contracting with BP or someone like BP. Sucks
