I'm going to move somewhere that doesn't have those nasty cold winter months This is by far entering the best time to be living in South Texas. The birding is incredible. Which is why the World Birding Centers are located here. The fishing, hunting, and camping is perfect. On my checklist for this winter Backpack Caprock Canyons / Big Bend / Lost Maples Canoe the Rio Grande again before it is too late. I will do the Roma Bluffs section. Plop Camp at Choke Canyon Sail up the Intercoastal Waterway to Port Mansfield Reenactment and Renaissance Festival South Padre Island International Music Festival Austin Book Festival Pick up a wetsuit for early Spring surfing

QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 12:38 AM) So, just now I went to go pick up one of my 25 lb barbells sitting next to me to do a spontaneous set of overhead triceps exercises. Only problem was I forgot I'm sitting in an office chair that leans backwards so once I raised it over my head and behind me I almost fell out of my f***ing chair. From personal experience, a f***ing chair should not lean, nor have wheels. A solid four legs, or better yet, solid wood rails below. Have a towel or something handy to sit on, it's just cross to think your bare naked ass on the chair, especially at the office. Position is her choice. /wait /not what he was saying?? /sorry

QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 10:33 PM) Follow this link and answer all the questions... you may have done something like this before, this one is pretty in-depth. The end result will give you a graph with 2 scores, because it separates authoritarianism and economic views (no gun control questions unfortunately). I'm very centrist either way, almost as close to the center of the graph as I can get. My economic score was 0.25... very slightly to the right. My social score was -1.13 meaning I am liberal, but slightly (if I took it again, I probably would come out a little more liberal). link??

I have a soundtrack suggestion if anyone would like to turn down Hawk and flip this on

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 02:35 AM) Ahhh, now I feel like an idiot... I guess I've never really talked about it that much with people, but those who I have mentioned it to haven't seemed to have ever had it. And it comes bottled??? Really? I make that stuff from scratch... My local grocer carries Bertolli vodka cream sauce. Like most of the jar sauces, it works nice for a weekday, in a hurry meal. I'd prefer to just make it fresh, and it isn't too much effort if you have the ingredients on hand

QUOTE (3E8 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 06:28 PM) Vodka cream sauce is probably a standard even at Olive Garden It is even available in bottles along with the other usual flavors

When was the last time two countries settled their differences by having a debate? When was the last time the President did anything via debate? So in the end the debates are probably more harm than good. It falsely gives value to a skill that a President will not use. Go McCain.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 08:28 AM) I only do gas now, but when I did charcoal, uneven cooking was usually from an uneven fire. Check the coals and make sure they are all going, and you don't have a big pile on one side or the other. Actually, searing via direct heat for a couple minutes on both sides, then piling the coals to one side and finishing with indirect works nicely for a number of cuts of meat. Especially thicker ones. If you do go propane, get a firebox that you can place some wood chips for extra grill flavor. And Mexican lump coal >>>>>>>>>>>> Kingsford

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 08:25 AM) And yesterday's game where we scored 6 runs? We could have had you in LF and it wouldn't have mattered since the Sox had a five run lead in the fourth and let it go. They choked. It's comical that anyone is arguing otherwise. Just admit it. It doesn't make you any less of a fan. Without Quentin they still have 9 players in the lineup. If Dye, Thome, AJ or Konerko were even mediocre this last week instead of embarrassingly bad this division would be ours. That's why you cant use this "Injures = suckage" formula. Honestly, who's to say Quentin would have even had a hit? I hate where this is going. Williams is going to use the smae exact argument as you about injuries and of course you and others will eat it up. Who f***ing cares if Charlotte took the field? They had a 2.5 game lead with a week to play and only needed one win the dome. A win which was more than possible in Game 3 even without Quentin! And let's not act like we were going up against Cy Young candidates. Both Baker and Blackburn respectively looked terribled; especially Blackburn who was hanging pitches on a Kirk Sarloos pace. Also, let's not forget that until about a week ago Wise was hitting the s*** out of the ball and being a damn good replacement for Quentin. As had Uribe in replacement for Crede. A team that everyone had pegged for .500 or worse, third or fourth in the division, is hit with a bunch of key injuries late in the season, and falls into a tie for first with 4 games to go. The only explanation must be they are choking. OK sure. -
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 09:26 AM) For the longest time I kept getting sales people calling my store for the previous owner, or people calling for donations looking for him. He was last there 8 years ago, so these people are working off of some old sales lists. I did a similar thing when I recognized that the same company had called yet again, at least the 6th or 7th time. I made up a story about him having a heart attack during sex. And managed to slip in that it wasn't with his wife, but an Indonesian shemale. Hey, you tried. Nice touch.

I share a name with someone who graduated from some private High School out East. They are publishing a class directory and want to have all the contact info correct. I've returned two of their 4 postcards they sent explaining wrong Tex. When they called three months ago, I explained wrong Tex. Last month, I again explained wrong Tex. Today, I was the grieving brother-in-law and explained that he was deceased.

Here's the positive spin and hope thought. The Twins just shot their load and are smoking a cigarette. There is hope of a let down. The Sox maybe loosen up and good things happen. me neither, but we can dream.

I guess he doesn't understand how important inflatable dolls are Right message, wrong guy. Kindof. He had the current production to do it. I'm not certain Thome or Kong could have said it either. Buerhle? He's probably the best one to have stepped up and made those comments.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 08:36 AM) Maybe next year Kenny will wake up and realize that we need a real CF. We're in a division with 3 of the best CFs in all of baseball and we're trotting out a 50 year old man. Which is big in a dome with concrete floors. There are reasons we crush the twins at the Cell and get crushed in the dome. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 08:20 AM) And yet, we had a 2.5 game lead with those injuries. We choked. No more, no less. You may be able to walk 400 yards after breaking a leg, but eventually it will knock you down and you will stop walking. If you mean by choking you are thinking of CQ, Linebrink, Crede, Contreras, Paulie, then you may have a point. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 07:12 AM) But couldn't we make the same argument, statistically, about our record since July 21/22nd, when Linebrink left his 8th inning set-up role? Injuries. Too many to overcome. Occam's Razor. All other things being equal, the simplest solution is the best. -
QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 11:36 PM) The Atlantic is a wonderful magazine. One of the few left that really tries to be an old school, everything from current affairs to short fiction kind of magazine. They all suck if it isn't what someone agrees with.
