See, someone exercising their right to a chemical weapon

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 02:39 PM) oh here we go again with the psychos who think everyone should be able to own a AK-47. Hell, why stop there? Everyone should be able to build their own chemical weapons for self defense purposes. Don't mess with Texas! The right to a chemical weapons just doesn't have the same ring to it as the right to bare arms (with tattoos) . But you do have the right to certain chemical weapons. Poison, mixing ammonia and bleach, etc.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) Simply owning the AK-47 wasn't the problem. Carrying it in the back seat, brandishing it in a park, resisting arrest and spouting off jihad talk all add up to a dangerous person. That is why it is so odd that he got probation. Maybe the judge didn't want to 'offend' anyone of a certain religious persuasion? Unless our Constitution is now a religion, I'm guessing the judge didn't go with that new George Dubya, "we know what you're thinking and you are guilty law". Unfortunately we still have the right to "spouting off jihad talk" aka freedom of speech. The article you posted mentions the cops seeing it in the backseat, how that becomes "brandishing it in the park". But congrats Alpha, a rare double! Typical liberal whining about guns and a follow up with typical conservative whining about speech they do not agree with. Both in the same post.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 10:21 AM) If you have an AK-47 in yoru car then I'm all for you being labeled a terrorist. Yep, any self respecting American Patriot would have a M16

Waaay back in the dark ages of the late 1960s early 1970s, aluminum bats were invented. My team had a red model with a black rubber grip. We actually pounded it flat. Sweeeet bat. I have a Ping Eye2 sand wedge that is my baby. I love that damn club.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 09:33 AM) What about Sherman??? Everyone always forgets him! I live in the south, we like to forget Sherman

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 08:44 AM) Well Iran and Iraq are Shia, and Bin Ladin is Sunni, right? Nonetheless, they do have a common enemy... and I have a feeling the money networks tend to run together, sects be darned. Common enemies makes friends faster then common likes.

Let's look at what he did. He had a weapon in his car. Call the NRA. A man has to protect himself. Lowered his hand. Dangerous stuff. Had his face painted. Face painting should be a crime. Especially at carnivals, NFL games, and during hunting season. And look at what was in his car! Boots WITH socks. Cell Phone (more like terrorist cell phones), a laptop, 2 knives, 4! Count them 4 cds, AM/FM radio, Binoculars, 2 cameras, international calling cards. Dammit, I have those things in my car. I must be a terrorist. Plus I've been seen burning American flags and teaching kids to do it.

To your headline, not the story: We have to get rid of that stupid religious freedom thing from the Constitution. What the hell were the founding fathers thinking when they came up with that? We need to adopt a national Church, just like England. That way we stop this Allah stuff while we can.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 07:02 AM) Seriously, grow up. Tracking me across other threads to try and goat me is a little juvenile. Being an admin and my elder, maybe use try the whole, if you have nothing nice to say rule should be used sometimes. Its pathetic and you seem desperate to annoy me and like a loser. Its a message board man, maybe you need to let some things slide. You dont see me chasing around people in other threads because I dont like them and taking jabs at them with blatant sarcasm so why are you doing it to me? If you have a problem with what Im saying or want to try and use (what you no doubtidly are and say youre two posts in here werent meant to be insults then please address be by PM. Theres no reason to go back and forth like this in threads. Something tells me Ill get the standard sarcastic quip with the LOL smiley but seriously, youre an admin, if you need to say anything to me just do it by PM. Lighten up Francis, my first post in this thread was Aug 14, 12:08, your first post Aug 16. So if anyone is following anyone around, I think you have it backwards. Plus you seem to know my every position, which is just plain creepy. But I will toss in a couple gratuitous snarky, sarcastic comment. Please don't kick my ass. I know that no one has ever gotten the better of you, so you must be the toughest guy in the sandbox. You think it is an insult to avoid an unnecessary fight? No wonder you're a Dubya fan

what an idiot, that's the kind of change he's talking about

Wait, I thought Cleveland or Detroit won the division last April?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 05:31 PM) You may be the only person I've heard say this. What's your theory as to why? The only possible way that happens is a lot of people are lying to pollsters. That when faced with pulling the lever in the privacy of a voting booth, they will vote McCain. He isn't the hip, fashionable choice.

QUOTE (Soxy @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 07:56 PM) Done with classes! Woo! Just research, research, research for me. And I'm TAing for the graduate statistics class. Score. congrats. I know where to go to for help in my undergrad stats class

QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 06:20 PM) That's not why we invaded Iraq btw I thought that was the last reason we gave. Especially after the whole WMD thing didn't pan out. So what is the "real reason"? Oil? Balta, why only the big stuff? Evil is a word, a concept, and can be defined as people choose. I have no qualms if you want to call something evil that I may not. Some believe killing anyone is evil, others find exceptions. PETA has some members who would argue that killing cockroaches is evil. Words get their meaning from people accepting some definitions. We have a concept of good and evil. Where we draw the line becomes a personal choice. I just choose to draw the line at the point where I wonder if the person is even human. It would seem we cross from good to evil a lot sooner with your definition. I'm not even certain there is a specific body count. The atomic bombs we dropped saved many more lives, on both sides, by ending the war sooner. Sherman's march ended the civil war quicker. Lots of bodies, but probably saved many times more. Also, I object because evil was used specifically to draw a specific emotional reaction. It is a damn shame when a candidate has to insult the very citizens of the country he allegedly wishes to lead.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 06:54 PM) lol at this. Saying one person has never gotten the best of me doesnt mean I back down, it means I can hold my own in a fight. Ive been in way more fights then Im proud to admit. I was in a fraternity at SIU, what do you think drunk frat guys do, just play beer pong? My bad. You have a better record then Foreman, Ali, Tyson, and every other fighter. Undefeated. Amazing to always be at your best.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 05:35 PM) We haven't done anything recently that I'd call "evil". But, I think an unjust and awfully executed war in Iraq is close. Go back in history, and see what we did to the American Indians. I'd call that evil. Slavery as well. But those are of course way, way back. Which is why I called it desperate to say we are evil. That stuff is a long time ago. Plus Iraq was to stop the evil torture that their government was doing. Sometimes you have to meet evil with really nasty.

Dean calls the Republican party the 'White Party"

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 05:40 PM) Maybe he was referring to his old state, with something like less than 1% black population. -

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 05:39 PM) And which President has appointed more African americans to positions of power, the one from the 'white' party or the all-inclusive one? Hell, the DNC even hates gays (or at least Dean seems to). Exactly. Dozens and dozens of them. And I'll bet if you look at all of his appointments it would number in the hundreds. -

The GOP is as much a rainbow as the Dems. The GOP just doesn't promote it that way. And with the pressure on minorities to vote Dem, I imagine there are a lot of GOP voting minorities. It is just the GOP doesn't trot them out for a photo op and make examples of them. -
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 01:50 PM) Well, when that is one of the top 3 things you think of when asked what is evil, it does seem pretty warped. Evil to me would be genocide, like in Rwanda or Hitler Human experiments Torture like Saddam stuff like that. I'm not certain what kind of definition he would be doing to judge something the US has done as evil. Perhaps giving billions in aid around the world? Sending our troops, at our expense, around the globe? Calling the US evil is just asinine.
