Since it is the No Fun League, I kind of like it. I'm not one of his fans, but I'm an even lesser fan of the NFL's Draconian attempts at regulating their players.

Questioning how any rookie will respond is natural. Looking a behavioral clues based on temperament and other characteristics is also natural. I'm not too worked up over someone like Mark doing it.

Glad to see him on the list.

Now that I have a little bit of first hand knowledge, I understand people staying put. Yes, a hurricane is dangerous, but so too are the shelters, albeit a different kind of danger. The best analogy I can give is asking, when you have a tornado warning, do you head to your basement and stay there until the warning is over? I would not stay, especially in any structure below sea level, but I could see staying in a well built building 6-10' above sea level.

I generally try not to watch the scoreboard during most of the season. It's just too damn long of a season and I like to smooth out the bumps. Now I'm checking the other games and catching the fever. How I wish Brian Anderson understood this when he was in a very similar position. So often in life, it's effort, not talent or skills, that make a difference. I hope this is true and not just marketing hype, and that other Sox players are motivated by it.

I couple buddies and I were talking about working in campaigns or even being a candidate. I no longer have any interest in actually holding office, but I would be interested in working for a candidate's campaign. It would take someone I could trust to hold office honorably and honestly. The public policies would come second. What would it take to get you to run for office, or work on a campaign, either as a volunteer or paid staff member.
