For me, it is less painful this way. Not that falling apart in September didn't have pain, but the disappointment wasn't as great. Just my honest opinion.

I Think We Should Have Seen THIS Coming...
Queen Prawn replied to The Critic's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That's one damn short movie...what, it would last all of say, 10 seconds? -
He needs to donate a little (heart and talent) to his brother Brett. That guy is the biggest horse's ass this side of Bill Wirtz.

I've posted in a towel before, but before I can get to far in reading, my bf coms in from the garage and I get... um... occupied with something else.

Since I started this poll, I should give my reason for voting for the Cubs. The hoopla surround them and the assumption that the media took that the Cubs were going to the world series before they won it made it a bigger choke in my eyes. Maybe because I don't live in Oakland, I didn;t see as much assumption that the As were moving up after taking a 2-0 lead, or maybe because it was 'just' a divisional series rather than the league championship series...

Who do you think choked worse, the Cubs or the As?

Queen has a similar line in a song they wrote for the movie Highlander: "It's better to burn out than to fade away." Sorry, I gotta use the Queen references when I can.

My bf's sister's bf (did ya get that? ) was laughing at all the people on their cells at wrigley last night. I wonder if they were crying as well.
-
Send them to Mt Greenwood because the sellouts here need to see them (there were a bunch of people that had sox flags all summer and all of a sudden there were scrubs flags in their place when they made it and the sox didn't).

I don't feel sorry for him because I think he did nothing wrong. I also don't feel sorry for him because he was at an NLCS game with headphones on - normally they are no big deal, but in a game of that magnitude, shouldn't you want to have your ears open to taken in the whole thing? Maybe I am just weird...okay, I am weird, but I hope the point gets across.

My bf's dad got him a subscription to playboy while he was still living at home. I wonder if it is more to piss off his mom (they divorced a few years previous) or to be a cool dad...

Thanks - it'll give me something to toy with when I get bored at work...not that I have been lately.

While working in Excel today I started staring stupidly into space and started thinking about Easter eggs that are supposed to be in MS Excel - sort of along the lines of typing 'I'd like to see Bill Gates dead" into the thesaurus and getting "I'll drink to that back." There was supposed to be a certain cell in Excel that if you did a certain set of keystrokes in a certain pattern, it would open a game of some sort. There are others and at the moment, my brain refuses to let me think of any. Does anyone remember/know any of the Easter eggs in Excel?

Backman called Gardenhire during Twins-Sox series
Queen Prawn replied to aboz56's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I wonder if the twins didn't tell some of the Sox players. That would explain the mutiny they said would happen if he became manager... -
LOL! My bf and I aren't married yet (supposedly in the works for next year or the year after), but that sounds like us.

If the cubs lose tonight, I think it would be the biggest copout to blame one play when they had 3 games to do it.
-
I just got that from a co-worker. I would like to know where he got front row tickets for only $200. BTW - yeah the .jpg is funny. As a side note, this guy didn't cost them the game and I think it is a total cop out for the cubs fans to blame him, but what did I expect? The cubs lost on their own, specifically their 'god' pitchers we've been hearing soooooooo much about.

I'd perfer them to work on the team, but heck, gotta start somewhere.

Sorry if this is a rehashed topic, but I didn't see it when I breezed through the list. The old saying goes, pitching and defense win titles. That doesn't seem to hold true this year completely. The pitching part, sure, but lordy, the defensive has been atrocious for all the playoff teams this year. It's almost as if no one wants it enough. Does anyone know if there has been an inordinate amount of errors this year or does it just seem that way? The red sox-spankme game is in the 5th and there is 3, I seem to remember one of the As-Sox games having 5+ errors, several of the scrubs games have been error filled...yikes.

I loved the first Major Leagues. I've been told that I saw the other two, but I have no memory of them whatsoever. The first Lord of the Rings literally put me to sleep, but the second one rocked.

Getting in is one thing, staying in is another. At least for the college of engineering. I had no problem with either, but I knew plenty who breezed in, but couldn't hack it once they got there.

I graduated in Dec. 2000 from UIC's College of Engineering and their reqs are about the same as UIUC. You should be okay about getting in, but if UIUC is changing things as UIC is, they might suggest as your councelor did to enter in LAS first to get your gen ed reqs out of the way. I started out at a junior college (was accepted to Boston U, but the money wasn't there - 20K a year + room and board was more than I could handle) and UIC's college of engineering said they were starting to suggest either LAS first or junior college to many of the incoming students.

Teeth falling out I think means change is happening in your life. I'm sure there are tons of dream analysis site on the net. Check it out and get back to us I heard it was supposed to be a lack of control over change. Same difference I guess.

My brother and bf said the same thing about the Madden games.
